Echo Beach Backpackers

I stayed in a private room. And I thought the hostel space was really cool! Its bottom ends in a beach. And it has a common space and a restaurant.

The most special place! This is our favourite place in Thailand and can not recommend it more

Hostel is situated right on the beach, great for hanging out or relaxing. Very sociable hostel, and the dorms and bathrooms are decent. This is a party hostel and loud music does play til 2am but it is sleepable with earplugs in. I warn that there’s certainly a shady vibe amongst some of those here who seem to sleep on the sofas each night and don’t appear to be guests/employees. Music at the hostel was great during the day and at night.

everything you need like renting bikes, tattoos, atms are all within 2min walk of hostel
for jungle party / full moon they book taxis at midnight takes about 25 minutes a trip but it's great fun with the other travelers

I stayed for a few nights at echo beach. Owners and staff couldn’t have been nicer, really sociable hostel with a cheap bar and good vibes. Also a great view and access to the beach. Rooms and bathrooms all very clean and cool with ac.

Huge room, clean, smells super good. We got the one with balcony to the garden and the view was spectacular! The public spaces are super comfortable, you also have space to work and the staff was so friendly.

Very dirty toilets. No soap or toilet paper in the toilets. Me and my partner both got food poisoning from the food here. Strong smell of weed 24/7 to the extent you sit in your room to get away from it if that isn’t your scene. Some polite staff but some exceptionally rude staff. 2 toilet cubicles between 18 potential beds is not enough.
The room was actually quite clean, although very dark and dingy with minimal lighting and a window that doesn’t close properly so you can hear the busy road outside all night.
Overall it’s definitely the worst hostel we’ve stayed in whilst travelling Asia for 3 months, would advise to avoid if you like anything remotely clean. It’s a shame because I was expecting much better based off of some of the previous reviews.

Location was very good. The vibes are nice and chill but also if you want tp party also possible

One of the worst hostels I stayed in, during nye the prizes went up crazy which I totally get - but you’re paying for absolutely nothing.

Dorms are gross, smells like someone puked in it. The bathrooms are so dirty and locks are broken on the doors. When booking a hostel you know it’s not a luxury 5 star hotel, but get the basics right. The mattress was not a bed, it was more comfortable to sleep on the tile floor. Also no security or staff during the night, so literally drunk people from the island are crashing for free in the common area or people who lost their keys during a night out couldn’t get into the room. Electricity sockets are broken near the beds and so were the lights.

Not gonna lie, the bar and common area are cool. But never getting what I ordered, also selling an unlimited bar night but people weren’t even able to get more than 3 drinks because it’s so crowded.

Really perfect hostel and clean, also the staff will help you with everything.

There’s nothing to worry about, you can rent scooter, book ferry, book parties and things more in the same hostel.

One of the best location hostel, on the beach with a nice sunset view. Beds start from 120 baht, the lounge area is super cool, and the music they play is the right mix. The staff are helpful. There are bean bags on the beach, and you buy different parties tickets directly from the bar. They sometimes arrange free taxi for the events. The toilets are clean. They have a pool table. We arranged our own beer pong and card games. Private rooms are also available. The Right place for socializing. The best value for money, among all the three hostels I have stayed at this time in Koh phangan.

Special notes -

1.try the food "no name" from theit food menu. It's an amazing discovery we made for 80 baht

2.7-eleven is 1 minute distance. It's a savior, when you come back from the party at 5am. Believe me

Loved every minute here to the point that we extended our stay three times. The staff is amazing, rooms are nice and the bar + location is perfect. Great hostel if you want to meet new people, definitely will come again

Great location right on the beach. Lots of comfy seating areas, including bean bags on the beach and hammocks and couches to hang out in. Clean dorms and bathrooms. Only thing they could improve is a place to put your shower gel etc.in the shower. Kind owners and workers there, who definitely give you lots of great recommendations if you ask. Delicious food. Would definitely go there again!

(Maybe add a milk alternative too.:)

Best hostel, happy hour 2 for 1 beers the staff the locals are all the best people on the island up the echo lets gooo!

Amazing hostel with a really good energy! Lovely beach front and great team. Sky was the life of the hostel bringing great vibes and making us feel very welcome. They sort out your transportation to party’s and make sure you get home safe.

We loved our stay at echo for the half moon. Great social spot and sky the manager was amazing! Will def be back for a visit x

Absolutely amazing hostel to say the least. Staff are extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating and the vibes in the common area are great for socializing. Perfect for solo travellers and travelling with friends

Had an amazing time at Echo beach hostel. Meet a lot of nice people, the location is nice and the prices are good. Definitely recommended
