Beautiful temple in Ko Samui, Thailand. Visit if you're on a spiritual or non spiritual trip to Thailand. It's gorgeous:)

We visited this place in November.nice place to go visit.there isn't anything else to do here tho.it's just big bhudda and a couple of shops downstairs. It does not get crowded.also there is another temple right next to this place.like 5 mins away called wat plai leam, so make sure to check out that one too.

An incredible experience for all, it was even a bit emotional walking up to this gorgeous statue of Buddha. People come to pray here, but also tourists to enjoy. Great 360 views of the surrounding area. Remember to wear clothing below the knee and cover the shoulders. Don’t be THAT tourist that forgets, but if so, they have clothing to cover up. I don’t know if it costs money to borrow, but why risk it?

We went to see the buddha with my boyfriend – the place is magnifying. The spot is very calm and extremely beautiful, especially the view when you climb up to the buddha statue. Definitely recommended!

Execellent place to visit. It is a calm and serene place. A lot of people come there to realize the beauty of the place. In a word, it was awesome.

Wat Phra Yai, more commonly known as Big Buddha, is located in the north eastern corner of Koh Samui and is accessible via a 100 metre long manmade causeway.

The giant buddha statue is a must see on the island.also, great thai street food can be found just a couple of minutes down the road.

Popular tourist spot and place pray and/or take photo of the giant Buddha.

There is a small flight of stairs you have to climb to reach its feet. One have to wear decently in order to enter. Sarong can be rented for free to cover up.

Many stalls around selling food, drinks and souvenirs. Avoid coming at around the mid afternoon because it will be hot and the position of the sun will prevent you from taking a good photo is the giant Buddha.

One of the most impressive and beautiful Buddha in Koh Samui. The locals are all very helpful.
They have many food stalls and souvenir shops at the bottom of the Buddha.
As long as you dress appropriately, you will have no problems.
They have offerings available to give to the Buddha.

If you are looking for a tourist attraction, this is the place to go to. However if you are looking for an authentic Temple with monks running around etc.this is definitely the wrong place! My fellow travelers and I had the feeling that this place was constructed for the purpose of catching tourists, mit for ceremonial purposes, so thats why I would call it unauthentic. But if you have nothing better to do it is worth a visit, but don't expect too much.

Definitely a spot to check out. The views are great, but make sure to go early if you want to beat the tourist rush.

Big and beautiful Buddha. Do mind that you can't show to much skin and you can wear shoes because there is Monks
