Magical place, amazing view!
The bells have now each been given a stick to ring with.
At the beginning of my stay here on Koh Samui I always get protection from the monk with a blessed bracelet.

A place that you have to visit no matter what. Although you have already seen several temples, this is one of the best

Nice Buddha but very touristy and busy (buses, cars and mopeds). There is a parking space for mopeds directly on site (after the narrow street on the right). Very difficult off-road for cars. We were there in the morning.

Very beautiful temple accessible to everyone.
Magnificent view from the top of the temple, otherwise when you come down there are lots of small restaurants with magnificent views. (Very affordable restaurant)

Nice place to see the view of Koh Samui from the temple
Also one can enjoy the landing of the plane as the airport is very near

Free entrance (luckily). Not very special, but nice to have seen. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it but worth a look if you're in the area.

Still as dilapidated as 12 years ago. Still selling bricks and roof tiles to never be used. Nice to see from a far and that’s exactly how it should be viewed. From far away.

The Big Buddha is stunning. There was plenty of parking on the day we went. On route there is also parking on the side of the road. It's free to visit with gift shops at the entrance. If you are in Samui it's well worth a visit.

One of the more cultural stops on Koh Samui, an island without a great deal of history or temples. Although this large Buddha is not well maintained, it does offer a good stop and is set on interesting geography. I visited a few times in September of 2020 and it was very quiet. Under normal conditions I expect I would be busier.

Temple of the Golden Buddha, protruding gently into the sea - so that when you go by boat you can see it and while inside you can admire the views from the terrace. A tall, golden Buddha statue, of course, occupies a central place, and in the vicinity, smaller, smaller golden figures represent its other views.

When you get here you should remember that you have to dress properly

So many farang don't dress properly and give the monk a hard time

Cover up!

That said about 30 Minutes for this place will do

Nice pictures and you can get blessings from the monk

Sorry for my assessment, but this is one of the best viewpoints on the island. There are several shops around so everyone can be happy - shopping freaks and real tourists. The temple from the island's perspective is worth visiting. Coolly located, decorated with a nice and clean statue, it is a tourist attraction

Wat Phra Yai Ko Fan in Koh Samui – Thailand

Wat Phra Yai Ko Fan is the Big Buddha temple in Ko Phan. Ko Phan is located in northeastern of Ko Samui, Thailand. The temple is located in a complex consisting of places of worship, and the Big Buddha statue is a symbol of the majesty of the Buddha. The big buddha statue has a height of 12 meters or 39 feet and is painted in gold. Big Buddha is next to the beach known as Bang Rak or often called Big Buddha Beach. To reach Big Buddha from the beach of Koh Samui - Chaweng can be reached by renting a motorbike or car with a distance of about 7.5 km.

Good temple with lots of street vendors nearby offering food and drinks. Which is nice because there is no shade near this temple. It's hot during the day and I would recommend going in the early morning or later into the evening. There is a nice cafe on the water just around the corner that is a cool place to grab a coffee or get some small snacks. The buddha is quite tall and has some amazing stairs leading to it.

Its free to enter nice views

A bunch of touristy shops selling clothes, souvenirs, food, drinks & Gelato.

The clothes shops are quite expensive compared to bangkok prices.

Also noticed a cat cafe if thats your thing. As you cross over the road/bridge the 1st glass building on left with the good view.

This beautiful structure was built in 1972 within the Phra Yai Temple complex.which is located on a small island located towards the northern border of Koh Samui, Thailand. Called Big Buddha statue in Wat Phra Yai Ko Fan on Samui island.
