Got food poisoning from this place eating one of there burritos. Was so sick and unwell for 5 days after. Avoid like the plague

Avoid. First night went out with my mates for a pub crawl after getting back in I found my money went missing. Door wasn’t damaged so someone with key access must have entered the door. Reported to police.

Really nice hostel. Plenty of space to chill and do your own thing, or hang out at the bar and meet new travellers. Lots of games, pool table and social spaces. Activities run every day and evening. Great for solo travellers like me. The tacos are ace.

We have been traveling a long time and this satisfied our nacho craving. We were so happy with the excellent nachos with a little Thai twist. The hospitality was warm and genuine.

Super social hostel, perfect for solo travellers! There are trips and evenings events organised so it is easy to meet people. Rooms on second floor have sea view, totally recommendable!

A colourful backpacker hostel with a nice feel and visited by pleasant, mostly young people. We just popped for lunch. It was average in price and quality.

IT’s one of the best places I have ever stayed. Yi is a great person who tries to do everything for you. We got really good friends in the time I have stayed there. Out of 2 nights got 7 and I was really sad to leave. The whole team is great! Recommend this place to everyone out there.

Tacoshack is the leading backpacker hostel on koh tao, cool team, lots of activities, scuba diving with a lovely small team on their own boat with exelent crew and equipment, clean rooms, lots of fun, more then 100 beds, party, games, people, hangout,

Manageress from Canada is rude. Actually a few of the staff need a reality check. I think only one guy out of the whole of the team was decent. And I can't even remember his name, as he was surrounded by clowns.

Food is meh. Everything tastes like old frying oil, almost everything is breaded and deep fried. Staff is nice. Our waiter didn't understand a word of English. We tried it twice. Will not return.

A cool place in ko tao which serves taco's and burritos with a tai twist in some of them. Reccomend.

Bed Bug! Bed bugs alert! Do Not Stay there! I stayed there for 6 nights, staff was nice until I claimed for bed bug. I realized all my body was covered by bed bug bite on the last day and claimed but they simply sent me picture of bed, saying there is no bed bug. Also they were keep telling me, I got bed bug from the other hostel or elsewhere, But it is only place place I stayed for my first destination, but they are keep refusing to help. Owner wasn’t nice after-all as soon as I claimed bed bug, they turned out very mean and not willing to help.

The owner Khai is one of the nicest, most attentive people I have ever met. He is extremely professional and will help you with any issue you might ever encounter. His biggest problem is that he works TOO MUCH and is always there. Some of the absolute best tacos are served here and you couldn't find a better hostel anywhere in Koh Tao. I was first here 4 years ago, and 4 years later this place does not dissapoint. Highly recommend.

Went here a couple times during our stay on Koh Tao. Good tacos for 80 baht! Portion size as good and I liked the flavor of the veggie ones. We also prefer the beef over the chicken. Got the nachos once and they were served in a very weird dish (deep not wide) which made eating them very strange - they were alright but wouldn’t order again. Overall happy with the food and homemade salsa

Taco Shack is amazing and the perfect place for any diving course! Nice hostel, very professional staff, and my instructor Christine was amazing! Highly reccomend!

Cannot recommend enough. Amazing set up bi level hang out areas. Great place to meet people. Staff was so so friendly. And the dogs they have are to die for.

Very nice Hostel! The pool table in the common area is very nice and makes it even easier to meet people. Super nice staff too!

Well this hostel is truly reccomended, 6 beds dorm is big and clean, beach is just 7 minutes walk, food is tasty and they provide free pool table!
You also get a quiter terrace from which you can see sunsets.
If you are into muay thai there's a gym right next to it. Can rent scooters real close too.

Rooms of 8 people had one bathroom with a shower. The toilet was clogged half of the time we were there. Electricity was off at least twice for really many hours. The food and the place to chill with others was really nice! Location was really good too.
