Sai Daeng Resort Koh Tao

Pros: the setting is absolutely beautiful. The snorkeling from shore is amazing. It's some of the best Waters in Thailand. Fantastic views. The rooms are incredible.

Cons: very isolated from the rest of the island. Taxis are 600 baht ($20) to get to town or back. The restaurant is overpriced. Staff English is not great and there was confusion on meal credits. WiFi is very spotty. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Lots and lots of stairs and hiking just to get to your room.

Very nice hotel with amazing spatious comfortable rooms. The breakfasts (overall very very good) are surved at the beachfront reasturant. Evening happy hour at the upper pool with coctails at a good price. The stuff is helpful are always ready to assist with any issue. Rent a bike is not available at the hotel itself, but the resort has agreements with nearby renting offices. Snorkeling is very at the both beaches of the resort. At the rocky side you have more fishes, corals and even can find stingrays, while at the sandy one you can meet coral sharks (we did) and turtles (we did not). Views are just superb. The value for money ratio is beyond expectations.

This is the most beautiful place you can stay, you have access to the cleanest beach of the whole island (no boat in from of you with all the pollution you will find everywhere else on the island)
Service are top quality but prices are a bit high (spa and food) compared to city.
Anyway it's a great place to stay.

We liked everything from the beginning to the end. The service was just perfect. The place is beautiful and calm with a unique atmosphere. Kayak and tuba/mask are available free next to the restaurant. You can see lot a multicolours big fish. I recommend to do the SPA, you will feel ready for 2019. The food was 'délicieux' Room clean and perfect. I can continu the list.

The hotel location is a bit further away from the center. You should definitely rent a scooter to get around. Nice quiet location. Amazing rooms. Only the AC is a bit weak

Beautiful resort with excellent service. The food at their restaurant by the beach was delicious and reasonably priced as well.

Grate place to stay! Nice and welcoming staff.
The view is amazing, and you can see two beaches from there.
But it’s far a way from every thing and you need a ride to get there or from there, it’s few minutes ride but they take 400 THB for that and I think it's a robbery!

We spent 4 nights in this amazing resort. The villa had an absolutely gorgeous view facing the sea. The location is perfect for snorkeling (best on the island) and the beach is the best in the island. Finally, the service was perfect. Absolutely recommend this place!

Poor wifi and no signal at here, my room keycard can’t access and heat water shower can’t used.

The great points if this resort are private and amazing panoramic views also snorkeling at the resort was great, free equipment and kayaks too.

P. S. This resort is really good for the young couple that enjoyed the quality times and many activities here. Not really recommend for the elderly.

Very remote and quiet resort. Staff friendly but restaurant food really bad and expensive. No where within walking distance.

Very comfortable staying at Sai Daeng. Rooms are gorgeous. Lovely swimming pool. Extras are really expensive and the fridge in the room is not cold enough. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

This has been a wonderful place to stay! The staff are amazing (especially Cherry)! They are friendly, caring, and happy. This is a great place especially for couples because it is a quiet part of the island but still only 10 minutes to the busier part of the island.
