Sai Daeng Resort Koh Tao

Nice place on the beach. But the main attraction is the beach. We swam with little baby sharks right on the coast.

Lots of snorkelling opportunities on the beach and the resort is awesome.

This was our second time staying at the property. We were there two years ago during Corona and it was really great, but the pool was a bit run down back then. This time it was really intense! The loungers at the pool were completely rotten and broken plus the water was also quite poor. The beach area is fantastic, but the loungers there are also disastrous. Only a few and half of them are still broken. I booked a massage online in the evening at 7: 00 p.m. When I stood in front of the closed doors, the answer was: we are only open until 5: 00 p.m. No apologies and nothing.
We decided to leave the island early because our son is/was sick. We politely asked if an agreement could be reached and we could get part of the money back.the answer was ice cold: NO. That's really a pity.

Beautiful surroundings, incredibly close to the beach. The service was great! Just a shame about all the stairs.

Absolutely perfect trip for me to stay here for 4 nights. Nothing to complain. All stuff are kind and so professional very helpful. Especially the staff at pool bar. He was so nice and made delicious cocktail:)

Room was clean and smell good.
Breakfast was variety and also delicious.
The view was amazing and stunning.

We moved to sai daeng after a terrible stay in koh tao beach club. Sai Daeng was everything we wanted and more. The views are to die for the and the ocen villas are uncredible

We were there in January, it was really beautiful, highly recommend! Private sandy beach and perfect for snorkeling, you can even see sharks here. A dream place!

This resort has the best spot for snorkeling, Hin Ngam Bay; the Deluxe Ocean View Room has the best view. Great restaurant and has friendly staff. Very recommend!

Hotel Sai Daeng was an incredibly good experience for us. The people were extremely friendly and the location is beautiful. We had an amazing room with such a stunning view over the bay. We even saw a turtle from our our terrace!
You have access to the beach on both sides and the hotel has a pool with extremely beautiful views of the beach. We would definitely recommend Hotel Sai Daeng if you are in Koh Tao.

Great location. Great yoga teacher. Great snorkeling opportunities. Due to the open bathroom and the location in the middle of nature, we occasionally had animals in the room. Great breakfast right on the beach. Unfortunately, the shuttle is only free at bad times.

They have an excellent snorkeling spot. I encountered a massive turtle and numerous baby sharks.

However, the room requires some renovations. We had to deal with a considerable number of ants on the bed every night, even after changing rooms.

Fortunately, we were moved to a more spacious room with a breathtaking view.

Unfortunately, the breakfast left much to be desired, as it lacked flavor. I regretted paying for it.

Additionally, the location is quite remote, so it's essential to have a skilled scooter driver.

Exceptional! We had a family room with a sea view. It was magnificent. The room is beautiful, well equipped.
The hotel's snorkelling site is very good.
The swimming pool is very pleasant with a beautiful view. The happy hour in the pool is very nice and the servers are great.
The satisfying restaurant is with its feet in the sand. The service is good.
Note that this view is worth it: in one day, to go to the beach, swimming pool, restaurant etc.that's almost 1000 steps per day! This is done well but be careful in case of health problems or with very young children.
On the other hand, the hotel is very isolated and the shuttles are practical but few in number.
Don't hesitate to take a scooter.

Oddly finished rooms. They look unfinished and unpainted cement blocks perched on steep cliffs. Views can be stunning. The overall location is fantastic with rooms spread out along the bay and on each side of the peninsula culminating in the eagles nest villa at the pinnacle of the peninsula with a 360 degree view. Be prepared for a lot of walking up and down steep walkways to access the reception, restaurant or beach. Prices are good for this quality of accommodation in a resort in Thailand, about 70 to 100 US a night depending on time of the year.

If you want to stay outside he most touristic area of Koh Tao, close to the nature at an amazing bungalow surrounded by the sea, só Sai Daeng is the place to you.

Located very close to the south commercial zone of the island, with an amazing private beach this resort is a must stay when you come to Koh Tao.

Villas with a private pool, beds super comfortable and a small size resort at Koh Tao for this luxury experience. We stayed 3 nights but we could have stayed much more.

Definitely the place to be when we come back to Koh Tao!

Rooms were massive and clean. Awesome value. Would normally be paying twice as much for a room not as nice. Right on the beach with great access. Bit far from town but you know that when booking. Staff were great. Very helpful and nice. Restaurants food was above average. Not outstanding for the price but quite nice.

Absolutely beautiful place with great staff.
Not a place for those that are unfit or infirm as there is a LOT of stairs and no other options to get up and down from beach and to rooms etc.

Nice beach and really nice views,
some of the sunbeds are old on broken and obviously nobody feels responsible to repair or replace them.unfortunately the rooms and balcony look old, wifi very slow, breakfast is so so.
I think it’s really sad, you could do so much more to make this place a special one.

Beautiful view, pool and location BUT. The Resort is located on top of a Rocky Hill and it's not easy to access, they have an almost private beach but to reach it you will need to do A LOT of stairs (not recommend if you are not really in shape and if you have any trouble walking). The small bungalow (that are your rooms and aren't easy to reach because they are up hill) don't have any windows and a/c in the bathroom (as you can see from the picture) therefore the bathroom is like a sauna, you are going to sweat a lot, and you will have different animal encounters like small insects and spiders. At breakfast also, some plates and tables were full of ANTS! The staff are not really that great and helpful; we reserved the complimentary shuttle service from the resort to the peer one night and they were supposed to pick us up at 10: 30pm. We waited were they dropped us off, from 10: 20pm, but they passed in a different location a few meters away, we saw the bus and started walking there, but they didn't even stop because there was no one waiting. They had a list of the people they needed to pick up, so they knew that we were not on the shuttle bus. We called them immediately but they told us that the shuttle bus had already left and we needed to find a taxi (for 500tbh). When we arrived at the resort with the taxi we went directly to the reception and complained, they didn't know how to respond and at the end told us that it was our fault because "everyone knows where the right location is and you need to be there 10 minutes before". It was our first night at the resort so how are we supposed to know if no one tells you? And when they dropped us off they told us that we should wait in the same place for shuttle bus, but it was different from the pick up point!

A bit rundown and service is not that great. The AC was not keeping the room cool when the temperature was about 35 degrees. The power went out for about 20 minutes one day. However, the location is amazing. Direct view of beach from the room balcony. Snorkelling on the beach was one of the best. Saw reef sharks and loads of fish and corals. Very clam waters and beautiful and peaceful location. Breakfast is good.

Sai Daeng Resort is hands down our favorite resort in Thailand. It's a family owned Eco Resort with just the right amount of creature comforts with a whole lot of nature. It's built right at the top of a cliff with great snorkeling all the way around. Plus, shark island is only a couple hundred meters away. The resort is perfect if you love the ocean and want to be away from the busy night life of Koh Tao. I would recommend to couples especially.
