Baan Talay

We had very high expectations coming into a 4 night stay at Ban Talay based on both the price per night ($$) and previous ratings. We were overall quite disappointed in the service provided (very badly trained and inattentive staff, who seemed bothered with any request, trying to up-sell us snorkeling trips 2 min after arrival, minimal breakfast options offered-not even a pancake was available) and the overall upkeep of the property and rooms. Rooms clearly not well maintained, sheets and towels with holes in them, broken locks, sink in bathroom not even attached to the countertop, etc. Despite this, View from bungalow was quite beautiful. Would expect far better service and upkeep with what they are charging per night-you can clearly get MUCH better value and service in many other resorts on the island for this price point.

This is one of the most beautiful yoga place. Teacher is very kind and use easy English for us. We could very enjoy and relax! Thank you:)

I spent three nights in an air con double room there and at the end I wished I could stay there for one more month. Just liked the feeling as staying in the nature. Fell asleep under the sound of nature was relaxing and this was a true vacation that you were away from the chaotic crowds. I appreciated a lot the partially opened bathroom, that was a pleasure having a hot shower meanwhile facing the seaview. Since it is partially opened so you will not flood all the toilet after have the showing like the typical bathroom style of the hotels in Thailand. Very good ventilation in the room. There is mosquito net surrounds the bed so you do not have to worry about any insects or mosquitoes waking you up at night. A lot of cute geckos on the site, son't be scared since they are gentle and good animals. Breakfast is included. Very tasty home cooked food in the restaurant. You can do snorkeling directly just by few minutes walking down from the property. If you are good at swimming you can swim from the property to the nearest beach (Aow Leuk) in 10 minutes which takes 40 minutes by walking! That was a great experience because there were so many fishes and colorful corals under the route. Super friendly staffs. Shuttle service was provided to Chalok. Highly Recommended!
