Justin and I recently had the pleasure of staying at your accommodation. I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for the outstanding care and support we received during a challenging health scare during our time at Baan Talay.

Our stay began as a dreamy escape to Thailand, a foreign country that promised exotic landscapes and cultural experiences. Little did we know that our journey would take an unexpected turn when Chrystal faced a severe reaction to the cookies we purchased in Koh Tao Town. The professionalism, compassion, and swift action displayed by your staff during this ordeal were nothing short of extraordinary.

From the moment we reached out for assistance, your team demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to our wellbeing. Not only did you promptly arrange transportation to the hospital, but you also accompanied us, providing invaluable support and comfort during a difficult time in an unfamiliar environment. Their dedication to our welfare was truly commendable and made all the difference in our experience.

Once at the hospital, the care and attention continued. Your staff liaised with medical professionals, ensuring that we received the best possible treatment. Bluetiful view over Aow Leuk and Shark Island. A perfect place to come and chill out and eat great food. Awesome selection of tasty and healthy options. Helpful and lovely staff really makes it a sweet place to be. A hidden gem highly recommend

What a gem. If you happen to stumble upon this resort, look no further. Coral reef snorkeling out your back door, great restaurant, unbelievable staff, and a yoga fitness and healing center as part of the resort. Loved our stay and would definitely return.

The resort is right on a very steep cliff. Rooms are small but have beautiful views as they’re right by at the top, tents are comfy with their private toilets, right at the bottom. So there’s a lot of stairs in between.
There’s no beach from the resort, so you’ll have to swim or drive around to get to the sand which is a disadvantage but you can snorkel off the pier straight into the water.
Food is nice and fresh and staff is friendly.
Good place to stay if you have transport to move around.

Super chill place, perched on the side of the jungle coastline overlooking Shark Island. Yoga and ice baths on site, baked in house goodies in the restaurant. Great food, amazing service and happy vibes all round. Will be back soon. One Love

Magical! Beyond words… it’s surely not the only place with quality food, high standard accommodation and amazing views but what makes this place outstanding: it is truly alive! If you are looking for something more than just a holiday, have a look at the multiple daily activities and wellness offers and take some time to inhale the energy of this place, it’s surrounding nature, and the beautiful kindhearted people!

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff are friendly, the food was good and the views of the bay are fantastic. We loved our room, but I think there's only one that style. The outdoor area was awesome with comfortable chairs and a hammock. Only downside is that the walk to the beach is a very long walk down stairs. It's like a mini trek. Also, the nearby beach isn't really a beach. Despite that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. There are plenty of nice beaches within a short drive.

Amazing place for Koh Tao to visit. They have many activities.such a yoga, free diving, scuba diving, painting… very good view and atmosphere steep is slope be careful when you ride a motorbike. Recommended for ice-cream. Super goodd for caramel…

Ruined my day, because 2 person argue with me that I have to pay some extra money after having bad night experience and decided to leave the hotel after 1 night. After I could keep my border about some unfair money, staff women wasn’t polite and told me to pack quickly.

If you, guys, have some non-client oriented rules, it is up to you, ok, but please to communicate it very clear and transparent. And in case client have some problem during stay, it is better to try to understand him and solve the problem, but not to say that me is the first person with this kind of complain and try to have extra money.

The place is good in general, cool spot, nice view, but maybe there is a problem with stuff, rules and client service philosophy.

Why I had bad experience and decided to move:
1. Not good smell in the room
2. Room wasn’t quite clean
3. I could be ok with these 2 points, maybe, but mattress was uncomfortable for 2 person, peels were too big and unnatural and bedsheets also were cheep. It is not good facilities for a good quality sleep.

Wir sind durch Zufall auf das Resort gestoßen und waren begeistert! Die Lage in der Natur, die Ruhe, die Gestaltung der Anlage und der Zimmer (nur etwas in die Jahre gekommen), der Service, das Essen (und erst die Mocktails!), alles hat gepasst. Dazu noch kostenloser morgendlicher Yoga-Kurs (sogar Eisbaden nach Wim Hof wird kostenpflichtig angeboten), Möglichkeit zum Schnorcheln, (kostenpflichtige) Künstlerkurse.

Pros: The location of the hotel is absolutely stunning. The decor is phenomenal and the view from our room & the restaurant was incredible and well-priced. The grotto style shower was also impressive. The snorkelling at the landing was teeming with fish, more so than most of the areas we went to on an off-resort snorkelling tour. In all honesty, you could save money by snorkelling only there & still get the full experience. The resort was also very quiet which we enjoyed as my partner and I both don't party/drink. The staff was also extra accommodating when you asked for something

Cons: The resort is on a rather steep hill which required us to walk up a long sharp incline for about 5-10 minutes everytime we wanted something to eat. Some of the staff, though very friendly & attentive, also seemed a bit clueless at times. The price of the free-diving was also off-putting as there were off-resort prices that were considerable cheaper & the bed in our room was fairly firm. They are also openningly growing marijuana near some of the rooms, up to you on if this bothers you or not. None of these issues would prevent us from going back but they are worth keeping in mind because they may be hard for others to tolerate.

Wir waren hier nur zum Mittagessen und das Restaurant ist grandios. Tolle Aussicht, große Auswahl der Mittagskarte, für jeden thaifood Liebhaber ist etwas dabei, aber auch für Leute die gerne europäisches Essen mögen und zum ersten Mal seit 3 Wochen habe ich hier auch einen super Cappuccino bekommen.

Für Kuchenfans ist hier auch etwas dabei ;)

Poor booking management.
I planned to stay there with my dog. At the beginning they said me and my dog can stay. When i gave them all the necessary info for the booking, they didn't tell me how to transfer deposit instead ask me other questions. In fact, they delayed the booking process to discuss internally whether my dog can stay without giving me a notice and told me that it's fully booked 4 days after i confirmed.

I was so frustrated since I have to find the new accomodation within very short period.

I would be great if they are considerate more than this - Very disappointed.

This is my favorite place on the island.
You can enjoy authentic delicious Thai food and the price is very reasonable, and the view is stunning!

It’s a perfect place to lazy around in any weather.

P.s. Don’t forget to visit the yoga studio (few steps down from the restaurant), it’s a perfect place for the sun raise. People said there is free yoga class starts 7am every day, though the day I visited has no class, I just working on my own with another two beautiful strangers.

Super stay - incredible family atmosphere. The views from the room, restaurant and yoga studio are spectacular. We stayed 10 days and already booked to come back in Dec. The restaurant has local favourites and western food. Amazing home baked breads - our favourite was the sour dough - baked on site. We ate most nights at the restaurant after the daily yoga practice. Dev was the most wonderful yoga teacher. We learned the king of asanas - the headstand - on our first day. He made it seem easy and it was. Great breadth and depth of instruction. He also teaches the free diving course at their sister property New Heaven Dive School. The Baan Talay rooms are basic but more than adequate.

A great way to enjoy an evening with friends. Lovely views of Shark Bay and Aow Leuk and absolutely delicious food with exceptional service!

We stayed in Baan Talay for about 2 weeks during the COVID outbreak and had an amazing time. Even though the place was rather quiet, the staff and owners were always really attentive, helpful and friendly. We really loved the views, the delicious food and the daily yoga sessions; the yoga studio was cleverly designed and it has a panoramic view of the beach which is stunning during sunset, perfect to wrap up a day of diving. Baan Talay has access to a coral reef, which is a couple of mins (and a little bit of a trek) away but it's 100% worth it; the reef is quiet, has plenty of life swimming around and is very clean. We will definitely come back and already recommended to several friends looking for a simple, peaceful and natural place to reconnect, relax, and enjoy life.

A wonderful place to stay.the seaview huts look out over the ocean, have nice outdoor showers, and pretty wood and rattan interiors.the breakfasts (included in the price of the room) are excellent.the staff is very friendly and helpful.a great value.

Dev is such a lovely host who has set up a glorious space. Came here for a yoga retreat. Staff and food are amazing. The views and rooms are great
