Tha Pae Walking Street reviews
Busy and popular weekend market with a variety of food, ornaments, decorations, and cultural paintings, too. It's nice at the moment because of the fewer number of tourists. Starts around 5pm and will go on until 9/9: 30 in the heart of the city running from Thae Phae gate to the centre of the city.
A shadow of its former self. Its strickly a tourist trap regardless but it always seems to be on all tourists bucket list.
I love wondering around this market and always manage to buy something even when I don't intend to! Love starting the evening with some yummy snacks and drinks and finishing it off with a half hour foot massage.
Very interesting market. Plenty of different and unique products to buy. Take your time to look everything in details. As it's very busy in the evening, I recommend to go there from 4pm when they start to install all booths.
It is only open on SUNDAYs. I think this walking street is longer than the saturday one. And this walking street has more hand made things.
The most important thing, its full of people and at the same time there are branches around the main walking street. If you are really interested in some products, you can try to ask for a lower price. Most of the shop keepers will agree on that.
Lots of stands but more of the same.great food but very repetitve, keep searching till you find something you like. There are some hidden gems.
One of the best night markets in the world! Lots of things to see & purchase, and plentiful opportunities for delicious food & drink. The massage area is one of the best stops along the way, offering very cheap prices for a quality chair-massage.
They take sunday market to a whole new level, food, activities, haggling for lower prices is a must. It's a part of the experience lol.
Starts at 5 ends at 11 with tons of beautiful temples around.
Cheers enjoy if your in chaing mai, thailand.
Fun place to spend the afternoon and evening~ lots of things to see and buy~ and there's always room for some haggling~ make sure you bring enough money to spend~
Before you decide to come visit, bear in mind that this place is HUGE considering that 1/4 of Old Town is turned to be a night market. I came two times there and still wasn't able to see every corners of the market. They got some cool swags at cheap price on offer and foods. If you don't mind the busy crowds you should definitely pay a visit there.
This is another great one time per week market in Chang Mai. It is huge and there is alot of repetition in what is being sold bit it is still well worth the experience and offers great food, drinks and general cultural atmosphere to soak in the city and it's colour and food etc. Plenty of souvenirs to shop and select but I mostly enjoyed jist walking through and soaking it all in. Go prepared for lots of walking! It is huge!
Amazing street food. The sushi was suprisingly good. However, the curry was the bomb. It's made in a huge pot large enough to serve an army but the chef's experience shines through. The curry was one of the best I've ever had. Better than any in the States.and only for $2!
Amazing night market every Sunday night, where locals and tourists of all verities mingle at times shoulder to shoulder to see a huge array of foods and goods (and other tourists!) Well worth a visit.
Great place.great wariety of food.goods for sale.massages.if u r looking for the u.usual and beautiful product.this is a must place to visit while in Chiang Mai
A cultural experience for sure! Very crowded, very hot, very busy! Tons of great stuff to buy. There is paintings, jewelry, clothing, souvenirs, hand-made crockery, wooden items, bags, scarves, toys and so much more!
A lot of products and services are available over there, such as streetside foot massage, localized drinks and food, traditional cloths and scarfs, indigo dyed bags and outfits, handmade art pieces, etc. People can walk around in the temples as well. A fantastic place that travelers should not miss out.
