Like Home

When first checked in we were given a different room with bunk beds (what we originally booked for) we then got swapped to a different place with a double bed. The room was cleaned before our arrival as we met one of the volunteers cleaning, however the room was very dirty with dirty "towels" some old fruit from a previous guest was left in the fridge. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, neither of us had a decent night sleep.
As a pro, Nuy, the owner is incredibly helpful. She provides free breakfast and dinner every day for her guests and free laundry (however the laundry was returned very damp and chucked in different baskets with other people's washing, so you just need to find your own whilst handling other people stuff). We rented a bike with Nuy and the price was one of the cheapest we found in Thailand, we had a puncture at the end of our rental and she told us not to worry as she would have paid for it.
All in all the rooms/apartments are quite dirty and uncomfortable, Nuy is a whirlwind of enthusiasm with genuine intent to help her guests but maybe the support she gets from her volunteers isn't enough to help her maintain the place.

We rented a Scooter for 3 days at a very good price.
The scooter was brand new and easy to drive
The owner was super friendly and promptly accomodate our request.
The breakfast was only 80 bath and it tasted really good.

Incredible stay at Nuy, who always takes care of you! We spent 3 days there, the breakfast and dinner buffet are free and super good. As if that wasn't enough, it is possible to wash your laundry for free and rent scooters twice as cheap as elsewhere. Nuy also has discount dice if you want to take cooking classes or watch a muay thai match!

My husband and I stayed here four nights and it was awesome! We got a private room (nothing fancy) with a bathroom which was a very basic room but everything we needed. The dinners were so delicious and breakfast was excellent (eggs and toast made to order and fresh fruit)! It was really nice having the free food included in the accommodation price and free laundry, wow. Nuy treats guests like kings and queens, she is amazing. She is very helpful with booking train and bus tickets and any events you want to do in and around Chiang Mai. Sin was also awesome and helpful! We loved our stay!

This is a guesthouse located right near the old town. In the morning, we offer toast, eggs, salad, and coffee, and in the evening, we serve several types of delicious Thai home-cooked food that change daily.
The owner, Nuy, and other staff are kind, and they will take you to the bus terminal or airport on your way home. After arriving at the bus terminal, it was a little difficult to find the bus stop, but the people around me came to me and took care of me until the end. I think this is the best place if you don't hate eating with other Western guests.

Staying at Like home is literally staying in a place where from the first day you feel at home. Nui, always smiling and willing to help with whatever is needed, is everyone's mom and offers breakfast and daily dinners that are included in the price of the stay, which I think is a super plus and also going to dinners gives you the opportunity to meet and socialize with the other guests. The food is delicious, and with a great vegetarian option I stayed in the apartment building, it is one street from the house and it is a 5-minute walk away, even so you have several bicycles that can be used free of charge, my means of transportation It was this during the 3 weeks that I stayed there and I appreciated it a lot, the room has enough to live simple and comfortable with a jug to boil water, the fridge is shared, water and ice always available. The highlight is the feeling of family and everything that Nui gives you for the price you pay is a win win without a doubt. Totally recommended if you are traveling and looking for a simple stay with other types of connections in a familiar environment. I will return without a doubt.

Wonderful place to stay in Chiang Mai, Nuy is the perfect host. I've often came back to Like Home in the past years and the last time I also brought my daughter with me. Highly recommended!

This place exactly is like home. The people are very friendly and helpful. This place reeks of positive vibes.

We were here in January and really liked it. The room is okay (ours was at a different place than the hostel, approximately 5 mit by foot away). But the service and food (also always vegetarian options) were unbelievable good. The dinner is really nice because all guests come at same time together. Also laundry and motorbike for rent available. We still like thinking about our time at Like Home and our host nuy.

Most lovely place to stay at. The host (Nuy) is helpful in every way and makes you feel "like home". The rooms are also nice and there is a possibility for airconditioning (450 baht). In this price there is also a delicious breakfast, free laundry and dinner included which makes it very cheap and attractive. There's also a lot of nice people there to chill with. Big recommendation to stay at!

I had a room with a Fan First and then changed to a dorm with AC. No additional cost! Really hot in April!

Incredible hostel. Nuy is a fantastic host and took great care of everyone at the hostel while I was there. The free breakfast and dinner are superb. Nuy was also able to arrange discounted tickets for Muay Thai and trips to see elephants. This is very much a budget hostel so if you want luxury, look elsewhere. But in terms of atmosphere this is certainly the best place I've stayed in Thailand.

Stayed here for a total of about 9 days.

Received a room outside of the hostel proper (about a 4 minute walk) in an apartment complex. Room was fine. Not great, not bad, but fine. Some maintenance it could use, but it's serviceable. Downside of the location is that it's somewhat noisy down by the parking lot in the atrium. Water tank located on the roof causes the water to be boiling hot between 13: 00 - 19: 00 and the heater/cooler didn't function. Wi-fi is surprisingly good. A/C worked great. Room was spacious with a large desk on the side. If you happen to need to get some work done, you can use the room as an in-house office if you need it. Price of the room per night is 400bht which is fair.

However, what is an otherwise 'ok' stay is a great one thanks to its incredible service and hospitality. Calling a hostel 'like home' sets a high bar in expectations, and it doesn't just deliver, but exceed past said expectation. Nuy (and her staff) does her best to really make it feel like home for her guests. There's a great vibe at the hostel all day round, making for a really pleasant atmosphere. If you're in the mood to meet people, the hostel facilitates it excellently.

Your booking comes with breakfast and dinner included. Nuy isn't just a great host, but also a good chef, because the food is absolutely excellent. Me and two others I've met here all work in a kitchen and had a conversation on it, and all three of us unanimously agreed the food was great.

Free loundry, free breakfast free dinner… and food was 10/10 well… i reckon its best value 500 what i have been paying for a night.also my room was super good.clean, big and with A/C… Nuyn is always smiling, always hearing what you have to say and she even offered me late check out no

One of the best accommodations we have stayed in on our 9 months on the road. The host is hilarious, sweet and exceptionally helpful. Not only did she provide breakfast and dinner (with an array of vegan and veg options in the massive buffet) each evening, but she also arranged and kindly (and unexpectedly) paid for a taxi for us to the train station. She has cheap motorbikes to rent and push bikes to use for free. It's pretty central too so no need to worry about transport around Chiang Mai. The rooms are also very comfy and if she had no rooms available she will work alongside local businesses to find you a room at an affordable rate. She is a diamond!

Super lovely host, this place is really like home, very lovely people, delicious free dinner, nice free breakfast, kind staff, very kind and friendly atmosphere, I find lot’s of friends in this place. There is also free bicycles and cheap scooters, rooms are clean, this host has many rooms around, but for breakfast, dinner and socialize there is same space. You can find friends for any activities in Like Home.

It might not be the most luxurious or modern hostel, but it is definitely the most welcoming, warm and friendly place I‘ve been to in Thailand. The moment I walked in, I instantly felt like home. Stayed there much longer than expected thanks to all the lovely people I met there and of course the owner Nuy, who is the lovliest of all. Thank you, I will be back.
