Spent 3 days at the yard, the place is incredibly beautiful! The beds are confortable and they give you great bed covers compared to other hostels. The staff is very friendly, sky even took us out to a thai raggae ska music night with a live band at a local bar, we had a blast really!
The distance to grand palace and khaosan road is about 45 mins of public transport (airbus station ari is fairly close) or 20mins by taxi/grab/tuctuc.

Word of caution to anyone planning on paying with credit card here: they charge 3%, which is fine, except they also decide on your behalf to have their bank exchange the currency from thai baht to your local currency, adding an additional 3% to the charge. I don't think they gain the other 3% so it probably wasn't done maliciously, but I certainly would not agree to paying 6% extra to use credit card as a form of payment (my card has 0% foreign transaction fee so I will let my own bank deal with the exchange)

Aside from that the place is clean and charming. Staff are quite nice as well. I'm surprised no one has died or been severely injured from falling off the second floor platform where the bed is since the staircase is steep and has no railing or anything to hold onto when descending.

Love that they have filtered water and ice which helps us avoid buying water in plastic bottles

As been three years ago, the atmosphere and hospitality is like no other. Will always return here when in Bangkok

Is a little oasis in Bangkok located in a area called Ari. The hostels consists of Shipping containers they turn into minimalistic style sleeping rooms and they have a nice yard, too and offer bottles to refill filtered water. Besides that the (free) breakfast is not bad, homemade yoghurt & Marmelade (!). If you need more, there is crack café just around the corner. Sum and her team is really nice.

First night in Bangkok and this hostel was perfect to relax and get used to the environment. Not a hostel on a party road sich is what I wanted but you can go party if you want. Was perfect, going back again end of my trip. Easy to meet people if travelling alone.

The hostel is just great - the people are awesome and if you want to take a deep breath and relax for a moment, thats the spot in Bangkok where you need to go. We stayed in one of the new double rooms, that are really nice! Thank you guys!

The Yard hostel really feels like family. The staff is very nice and helps you with everything. We stayed for 4 nights in a 6 bed dorm. Everything is nice and clean and the yard is just a green oasis in Bangkoks concrete jungle. The next BTS station is only a 5min walk away wich makes it easy to get to any destination in Bangkok.

One of my favorite Hostels! The Yard Hostel has a nice big garden with a Bar where you can relax, read or easy meet and talk to other travelers.
The Yard staff is like a family and really helpful- a home away from home.
I stayed at the Yard Hostel befor and always choose to stay there again when back in Bangkok.

I loved this hostel. Located in a pleasant and calm neighbourhood, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, in mine there was air conditioner. They serve good breakfast. It is also very close to skytrain Ari Station. I reccomend to solo travellers who don't want a party hostel.

One of the best places we stayed on a month long SE Asia trip. A really cool set up, chill vibe, and amazing staff. I would recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Best for Solo travelers who are not much into party but are looking to make friends. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This place was like a home to me and i have met such amazing people here. The facilities are great. The beds are cozy too. You have to be here if you are looking for a peaceful environment within the bustling city. And it;s good location wise too. I truly loved being here.

Great place to stay in Bangkok, don't go to noisy Khao San, come here. Very helpful staff, common evening events, great place to meet other backpackers

Great beds and great hospitality. Breakfast is nice but a bit limited (not enough food and no possibility to get more yoghurt and fruit as they only prepare one cup per person).

Kinda expensive & kinda out of town. However these are the only negatives of this great hostel.

Great staff, nice free breakfast and coffee, cool friendly atmosphere and high quality & clean rooms + Using grab cab and the train it isn't that hard at all to get around.

Thanks

Such an amazing hostel! I’ve stayed all over Bangkok, in every single district and this was by far not only the coolest area (food, coffee, vibe) but also by far the best hostel I stayed in. Super friendly staff, great selection of interesting travellers and a nice focus on eco-friendly and sustainable. What a great place to call home. I’ll definitely be back! Thanks

Staff is terrific and helpful. Grounds are beautiful and modern. Great neighborhood, 100 bhat Grab away from Khao San with lots of good, affordable but slightly more high end restaurants. No typical hostel amenities lacking. The breakfast is a decent snack but you'll probably still be hungry. Only drawback is noise level at night- they have earplugs and you may want to use them as you might hear people socializing and coming and going outside. Laundry machine is free to use but small.

Super helpful and kind staff! This area of Bangkok feels like a hidden gem. If I was in my hostel days I would've totally stayed here! We ended up finding it as we wandered and stayed for a drink.

Nice garden & facilities, clean and nicely served breakfast. Rooms are too small though and one guy from staff (the one with ponytail) was the opposite of friendly and didn't give me a warm welcome!

Not a party hostel but a very cool place to hang out and make friends. Its very clean, the beds are SO comfortable and the staff are kind, funny and helpful. This is literally like the perfect hostel. Five minute walk from the ARI metro/tube/subway station. Can be a little difficult to find but dont worry it exists. When you see a restaurant called "Butcher" you are two minutes away. Loved this place!

I've been to many hostels in many countries and this is hands down one of the best. Amazing energy, amazing staff, amazing travelers.
