The Yard Hostel Bangkok

A real green relief in an otherwise bustling Bangkok, The Yard is true to its name of a sustainable hostel. They have systems to reduce your plastic usage, water wastage, suggestions and resources like food tiffins, water counters, glass collection, waste separation. The ladies and gentlemen running the place are extremely helpful and patient in answering questions they've probably answered thousands of times already! They are all so so lovely and sweet, I will miss their bright, beautiful smiles ️ We were recommended to visit Chatuchak Market (which is very close, just 2 stops away), Chinatown & Wallflower pub all of which we absolutely enjoyed. Their beds are sturdy, a very good size, clean, blankets are cozy and warm. I had a really good sleep. The only tiny qualm I had was the size of the dorm, for a mixed 6 seater - not even 2 people can stand comfortably - probably one of the smallest dorms I've seen so far. If you're in Bangkok to explore and would be out and about most of the day, I would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing stay at the Yard. Really got my trip around Thailand off to a great start. Som and Skye were super helpful! Food recommendations, things to do, whatever you needed they had you covered! The rooms have good air con and the shared dorms have a good number of people. But most of all, it's a really nice, friendly vibe. Shouts out to Som and Skye, i'll see you on my way back through Bangkok!

This is one of those special places in the world. I can’t even put to words how wonderful my time was here. I spent a little under a week and loved every second. It’s managed with care and attention to detail and lots of happiness. They really value the environment and doing things sustainably. They also gave us some amazing recommendations for places to go. The people though were the absolute best part. It attracts a quality crowd. Ill be staying here anytime I’m in Bangkok. Feels like home

Very nice hostel in Ari, 10 minute walk from Ari BTS station. The staff are AMAZING and will help you with everything, they are so lovely and I'd really really recommend staying here! The rooms are nice and the air con is really good, the showers are powerful and the breakfast which is included is good too. I love this hostel!

We had a lovely stay at the Yard. The owners, Som and Som are both so sweet, smiley, friendly and happy to help with anything you need, so are all the staff. The private rooms are such a cool layout and very spacious. The shared space amongst the trees is so so nice and it's great to have the bar, a breakfast cafe, burger restaurant and nail salon on site. Thanks so much for our stay we recommend to anyone. Also great location as so much street food and nice restaurants/cafes near by. And v close to BTS

Highly recommend. Booked 1 night and then extended to 5. Clean dorm room, good showers and bathroom, laundry on-site, Awesome staff, really good internet (can work in yard or there’s an office room for some privacy), free filtered water, coffee, toast and fruit yogurt included every morning. Bars and restaurants on-site. Location is perfect. The private rooms are really nice. Ari neighborhood walking distance to BTS train and everything you need. I’ll be going back.

Hostel was very pretty, and the manager was nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room was still under construction with no curtains anywhere and no lockers. In the middle of the night the manager brought a friend of his to sleep on one of the empty beds, this person was completely wasted, started puking and snoring loud enough not to let anybody sleep that night. I was worried this person was going to choke on vomit and also felt unsafe thinking he could bring more men in the room (specially as the only woman in the room). Very unprofessional!

The staff made this place my favorite. People were incredibly kind and genuinely cared how you were where you came from etc.just refreshing for people to care about your well-being without wanting anything in return

Best hostel in Thailand. Hard to realize you're in such a big city when you're surrounded by garden and listening to birds singing

Owner and family were incredibly nice, and the place has a great vibe. The rooms were nice and clean, with lots of space (imo)

I absolutely LOVED The Yard. It was such a lovely place to stay - especially if you are not a city person like me. They are very conscious about waste and respecting the environment which is great. I have absolutely no complaints with this hostel - staff was delightful, clean rooms, AC, common area, lovely outdoor area, water refill, and friendly cats.

This has a lovely and calming vibe. My time here was peaceful and everyone working here was welcoming and kind. It is open and thriving with a local eco and hipster community even in covid. I will always stay here when in Bangkok.

I stayed here a few years back now and really loved it.

The Yard was such a peaceful and calm place dropped in the middle of the chaos and noise that is Bangkok.

Everyone there was really friendly and sociable and the surroundings were so nice to be in.

I almos want to come back to the city just to stay here again.

The place is cozy and atmosphere is great. You’ll meet some very friendly people and the staff is awesome! The problem with the place is the location and the amenities. The bed was just awful and “privacy curtains” are a joke. The cold shower in the morning was just the cherry on top. If you prefer atmosphere over nice beds and showers, you’ll love this place. If you need a comfy place to sleep or want to be closer to touristy things, look elsewhere.

So cozy hostel situated amidst of one of crowded districts of Bangkok, Phya Thai. It is rare to find a hostel surrounded by trees, greens, real grasses, flowers, birds and other mini-sized creatures that walked towards me like they know guests won't hurt them. Thick mattress and puffy blanket. Enjoyed their simply creative breakfast and best was guests can double or triple their bowls if stomach is still asking for. Staff had hospitality mindset and willing to go extra miles for needed guests. Nearby were plenty of awesome eateries as you like.

I loooooooove them so much. They stored our winter lugagges for a few months while we traveled around Asia. They made us feel like family.the breakfast is simple but yummy with homemade yogurt. This hostile is self sustainable and friendly as can be. A perfect little Haven in the busy city if Bangkok. The accommodations are clean and cosy and the staff is wonderful. Best hostle I've ever stayed at.

We had a very nice stay in The Yard Hostel (in Thai Yard means Family). Personally we love the garden with very nice seating settings and a good place to host conversation among travelers as well as personal space for ones who enjoy their own me time. The Yard offers free mosquito repellent and plastic water bottles for you to use throughout your stay. We had both experience of staying in female dorm and staying in private room. Would recommend to stay in a private one since the dorm is a bit small so noise easily affects you when one individual makes any moves. Everything is nicely organized and setup though here and there some more maintenance can be done like for drainage or water items in the toilet. Staffs are super friendly and helpful.location wise this is good value forward money since it’s like 15 mins access to anywhere we want to go, from Chatuchak weekend market or malls and other attraction places
