The Missing Burro reviews
68Great food and excellent service. The owner is very friendly and nice. All of the food is great especially the nacho salad and the enchiladas.
Really great Mexican food! Portions are a little small but not at all unreasonable given the high quality and difficulty of obtaining the right ingredients in Bangkok. Have been to Mexico a number of times and lived in Texas for 9 years so I've had my fair share of Mexican. Thanks for the great food and service!
Food was good, but Margerita drinks over expensive at 290 Baht besides glass wasbarely 2/3 full. Ive had many Margeritas in my 50 adult years, but the big glasses are always filled to the rim. In Phuket its full glasses &taste just as good at 30-40% less price. To be fair the Thai GOVT, keeps increasingly liquor taxes.
As a longtime LA resident it's easy to be disappointed by Mexican food in Asia but this place is a comfort! Great guac&floutas. Cozy atmosphere with a lawn. Wine list. 4 star experience, 2 star price. And they accept Bitcoin cash BCH.
Quite a decent experience for a Mexican joint in the Thonglor area. Menu could be a bit confusing to navigate at first if you're expecting prices to be on the same page as the food photographed (here, prices are listed in the back). The service is excellent so you will not be disappointed by the staff at least.
In my three visits, here are the things I would recommend: order the 'Carnitas' if you're hungry and are looking for value-for-money kind of deal. For the same reason, DO NOT order the quesadillas - you'd be surprised to find just two pieces of cheese quesadillas on a platter for the price of 180 baht. A bit hard to justify that to my friends at the table. So, as much as I'd like recommend The Missing Burro to anyone, the quesadillas portion threw me off. I would still gladly recommend the restaurant for their service and taste.just with an added footnote of "don't expect the food portion to match their price".
Edit: The owner seems to reject customers reviews that are less than five stars (see other reviews). It's disheartening to see he would spend his time fighting with customers online instead of improving his business. Corrected for 2 stars.
P.s. Don't order quesadillas*
Authentic mexican food, the best mexican restaurant in Thonglor bangkok, staff are very lovely. Lovely atmosphere, dinners at the front garden, chill chill
What happens when you take two cargo crates, a creative eye, and terrific Mexican chef? You get back fun evening out with friends. Prices aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Plus, they're reasonable for the flavor and neighborhood atmosphere.
Varied Mexican food and interesting cocktails. Their Pisco sour is one of the best in town and I recommend it for sure. Fish tacos were great too.
This place is fantastic, I'm from Texas and the flavor of everything was so fantastic. Tried 5 different dishes, all of them well balanced and delicious.
I'm vegan and they went out of their way to make some food for me. The place had a really good vibe, a little hidden gem in a really busy area. Quiet and cozy, good selection of Mexican and drinks.
This place is just fantastic! I think it's the delicious mex in bkk. The garden seating is superb as well. Beers not too expensive. Food isn't exactly cheap, though.
Authentic Mexican family recipes and
street food cooked to perfection. They serve very nice craft beer from Mexico.
Unique flavors.
Garden tables are really very pleasant.
The real deal. Pure Mexican flavors and nice terrace with friendly service. Pura comida mexicana de verdad para matar la nostalgia.
Good Mexican food. Inside a soi. You can't even imagine that you're next to a busy road, the place is so quite
The only really authentic tacos I've found in Bangkok (everything else bring texmex or weird fusion) and by far the best. Service is also good and the owners are friendly.
Relaxed outdoor restaurant in a quiet soi off of Thong Lor. A wider variety of options than a lot of Mexican restaurants, and all was delicious
The food was spot on. Everything was delicious! The restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating. I recommend sitting outdoor if weather permits. There are limited seating indoor and it can be loud inside. There’s live music at night.
Authentic tacos. Like having a meal in Mexico, but nearer and more expensive lol. But still, was willing to pay for the awesome tasting food.
Will visit again when I’m next in Bangkok!
Also helps that there are a ton of awesome bars ard the corner for after dinner drinks!
I went there two years ago, a bit after they started and I was amazed by the good food, with veggeterian options which I loved! Itzco and the staff have defiteley hit the nail whit this restaruant, I will visit is soon again and I am sure I will find the same good quality and taste of Mexico! Great place to go and enjoy good food!)
I love this place. I’ve been multiple times now since it’s opening and figured I probably should leave a review by now. I’m no expert on Mexican, but it’s got very simple and exciting tastes and I’ve never had a bad meal! Will be back again I’m sure.
