18I came with respect. Great person who devoted his life and wealth into good things. Please wear properly when coming to see him.

Famous monk on Samui.
Small temple.
Make merrit.
Popular with tourists.
Another part of the Koh Somui Island tour from Mr Somui, (details about him in another review later). Every village has its own temple and monk. Again this is another interesting story which you can read about when you visit.

Honestly this is just an amazing place, we stood there completely in awe of the mummified monk & his story. It really is a once in a lifetime experience so i say VISIT!
Its a highly respectful place with local Thai’s coming to worship as well as actual Monk’s so ladies please be respectful and cover legs and shoulders, you can buy a sarong really cheap in the markets and they are just handy to have in your bag.
Main attraction is the mummified monk, which is different. Not much else to see and pretty small compared to other temples I've been to.
The Temple is very small compared to others in Thailand, but still worth a visit. The main attraction is obviously the mummified Monk. This guy is interesting to look at, but that's it. Beides that the temple has nothing much to offer, but it is still worth a visit if you are interested in buddhism.
For me personally the most interesting place on the island. I liked Mumifictaed monk and collection of money from whole world
The mummified monk. Nice temple displaying the mummified body of the former abbot wearing sunglasses to cover the empty eye holes. Behind the mink there is a box where you can hand in a pair of sunglasses for the monk and in front of the altar there is an exhibition of donated bank notes and coins from all over the world.
Avoid Skimpy outfits here as the Thai are particular about this at sacred places. The body of the monk is kept mummified in a glass case! The monk's life is inspiring. Do read about it!
Wat Khunaram is located right on Ring Road so it's super accessible so easy to stop at as you are touring the Island, most tour operators include a stop at this temple so it's normally a pretty busy spot. Would recommend to include it as a stop only, but not a specific trip.
Seriously a very nice place to be but remember they won't allow you inside if your are not wearing proper cloths. You can also see a lot of currency collection in the temple as well.
Pray to utmost Namo Shakyamuni Buddha, with the most sincerest heart to pray and chanting. Sadhu Sadhu Sadhu
This temple (in thai 'wat') is one of the smaller ones in Thailand. Nevertheless, it has a special sort of entertainment for their visitors. The highlight is the mummified monk in a showcase. Sarcastically, the Thais put sunglasses on the monk.
The rest of this wat is similar to the majority of all wats in Thailand.
Go and visit this place, once you are on Samui ;-)
Home of one of the Mummified Monks that can be seen at various Temples on Samui. This seems to be the most popular.
Well kept area, very popular with tourists.many of the Safari tour trucks stop at this Temple. Worth a stop.
