Thong Krut Pier reviews
29 Very unfriendly people there. There are almost no transfers (per boat) to the Pig Island, only tours per person with diving etc. We went there specifically so that we were independent and only went there for 1 hour.
The people were also unfriendly. If you have questions, they say no, next. Not recommendable
Worth a visit for photo ops. It seems like the place to go for tours to pig island as we were asked many times if we wanted to go! Which we didn't that day. There's a few nice looking restaurants and a funny shaped palm tree that just straight out at the end of the beach!
Nice place to eat. For the crossing towards an island, prefer the canoe for the islands up to 30 minutes journey, it is more pleasant. In any case, don't hesitate to ask for prices from the different services, you will be surprised by the offers, don't rush.
As soon as you arrive, everyone will want to sell you a boat trip to Pig Island.
There were two of us, it costs 1800 THB for a 4-hour tour with diving.
A private boat just for the return trip to Pig Island cost us 1500 THB.
Almost everyone offers you the same prices which do not seem negotiable.
Don't let them take you more than 1500 baht for a boat. (Updated to 2023)
If you go to the pig island I recommend eat before because the restaurant on this place is terrible and the service people are not nice from my impression.
You can park your moped for free at Thong Krut Pier and take an inexpensive tour of the neighboring islands with one of the local fishermen. For example, we booked a 4 hour tour for 800 BHT per person. Visit the Pig Island and then sail to Kho Than for snorkeling.
Everything went super. I would book everything again in exactly the same way.
. Well, you can see pigs on Pig-island You are guaranteed to get a free salt shower on the crossing.
. Typical touri-thing.
A small rural fishing village that serves as the portal to Koh Tan and Koh Mudsum. Most of the "tours" here basically run a 4 hr itinerary. A visit to Koh Mudsum, the Pig Island, to enjoy the beach. Swimming is not ideal here though, since water is too shallow for anything. There are some coral, but again, it's a long walk near shore to get there. There's a resort fee of $50 baht though to use their chairs and bathroom. Then snorkeling at Koh Tan, lots of coral and fish! The lady at the parking lot offer us $2000 baht for 4 people. Then further down, another stall offered $1800. The water taxi people did the best at $1600. But from online research, the tour typically goes from $1200 ~ $1400 per boat. This is a lot cheaper than booking from tripadvisor or other tour companies. Skip the middle man for better pricing.
Drive here to reduce boat travel time to islands. Local vibe with better prices than tourist areas.
This is where you depart for Madsum Island (the famous "Pig Island")
Here at the port, there are cafes, trip agencies, and long-tail boats available at your service.
After diving from the island, you could have a fresh water shower at your trip agency here as well.
Feom here you can book tours to multiple islands. We went to Pig Island. A very unique experience.the staff was friendly and the prices are not that high. You can get your own private boat
Open calm waters with lots of boats to take you across, with amazing views that are worth taking a look
Bad service. No one is speaking English as i was informed. I paid for 6 hours and they returned me after 3 hours. Not recommend
Very pleasant well managed port. I love how accountable the authorities are holding boat drivers and amount of tourist that can visit reefs.
It is helping the sites so much
Car parking available
Toilet available
You can book in advance through various travel agent or walk in.but may gave to wait for next group boat or take private boat. Charges us 3000thb for pig island and snorkeling for almost 5 hours (no lunch including)
Sehr ruhiger Pier mit überaus freundlichen Menschen. Man kann sich private Boote für die Pig Island mieten. 4h, pp 500 Baht.
From the spear you would go to the best attractions in Ko Samui. Ever since Cove it display it looks a little bit of a rack
Dirty, people are rude, dangerous access to boats, toilets are a health hazard. I can go on but you get the idea.
Quiet place for sunset view, you can see local life of fisherman here. The community feel happiness all around.
