The Library Koh Samui reviews
25Modern hotel. The concept of the hotel is successful: there is a library and a reading room, as well as a large cinema library and a room for watching films. The room is spacious, comfortable, there is a bed on the terrace. Excellent cuisine - masterpiece breakfasts, according to the menu. Room cleaning twice a day. The staff is attentive. The area is clean. Great internet. Great beach. 5+
I want to write e fair review.
Pros:
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very clean and neat rooms, everything looks handpicked and well designed at this hotel, 26 rooms so very quiet and peaceful, nice private beach and pool
Cons:
1. The restaurant is overpriced for thailand
2. The way that they approach a problem is not very customer friendly, we had a water leakage in our first room and they offered us a free dinner (a special menu not what u want) and they gave us a room which was smaller and older. In the second room the hairdryer went on fire in my hand! And all they did was an apology. I think the management team has set limits for the crew so they cant do much
Beware, cockroaches! Really a shame that this place is suffering from what appears to be a cockroach infestation.
We regrettably spent 5 nights here on our honeymoon. Out of our 4 stays, it was the only with any problems. On the first night here we noticed more than a dozen cockroaches wandering around the pool area of our 1 BR villa. We called the front, who sent a guy to kill a couple with their broom and sprayed Raid. We then noticed a few big roaches inside as well. One was hanging out in my wife's shoes. 2 inch German roach. When you see a few roaches, you know there are dozens to hundreds more nearby.
After pushing for a change, they upgraded us to their best room, the Writer's Room. We were ecstatic at first. I wish I was kidding about this, I really do, but the next night my wife woke up with a roach crawling on her head.on her honeymoon. We killed a few more around the room and sucked it up for the last couple days since we didn't want to move our stuff again (probably a mistake).
The breakfast is good. The beach is good. Location is okay. Staff did a good job initially moving us rooms, but we had to push pretty hard for them to do that.
Half the room's electrical went out (it was windy) on the last day. The AC leaked next to the bed. Several bulbs were dead around the outdoor space. Our initial room didn't have functioning jets on the tub. It just doesn't seem like this property is being maintained, and pest control isn't being called anymore.
Unless you don't mind joining some cockroaches while you sleep, consider staying somewhere else.
The staff were very friendly, the location was in a busy area, and the breakfast was very good. But a lot of bugs, dirty floors, a lot of scale. I guess it's because it's too big.
The location was also great, with a supermarket nearby, so I could easily find anything I needed. However, since the hotel was well-equipped, I didn't have to go shopping and it was perfectly fine.
This was my favorite hotel stay to date. The rooms are absolutely stunning, along with the entire property, food and drinks. So many amenities and special + unique touches. The real magic is in the staff and customer service though! It was hands down the best I have ever received. I can't wait to come back!
Absolutely wonderful stay at The Library.
The design of the hotel and the rooms is outstanding. From the moment you enter the resort you are transported to a calm and relaxing oasis. Rooms are big and spacious. The pools are beautiful and original. All the staff was amazing during my stay. The food also was memorable.
I stayed at this resort only for a night from 5 to 6 Oct 2022 with my wife and two sons. This is a big regret - we should have stayed longer!
We had booked a two bedroom secret pool villa. It was absolutely out of this world! It had a huge living room, huge master bedroom with an eleven feet wide bed, changeable mood lighting, gigantic walk in closet with wash basins, smart toilet and a shower for a couple. The other bedroom was also quite large, with similar walk-in closet. There was also a good personal gym. All these rooms were around a centrally situated personal & very private salt-water pool. It was sad the we could not really use much of these facilities due to the short stay and heavy rain. Absolutely loved every bit - except for the price which was quite expensive.
The beach was excellent as were the two pools which had red tiles making them quite striking and definitely different!
Vegetarian options in the restaurant were limited. However, we did manage to find enough for us to survive for the single breakfast that we had. The property does not have a buffet breakfast which was a refreshing change and the breakfast options were excellent. It gives the feeling of a fine dining restaurant. The staff were very polite and provided great service.
The property is located on the famous Chaeweng Road area and there are great restaurants and pubs at walking distance. A large mall - Central Samui, is a stone throw away.
This is one property that I can't wait to visit again - once I save enough for a longer stay:)
5 times that I come in Thailand, spending more than 100 nights in many hotels and this is the first time that I’m disappointed… Poor welcome, extra charge vs the booking rate, waisted time to talk with the manager for nothing (no solution suggested at all). Just know that if there is a mistake in terms of rate displaying on the booking site, it is your problem not their. Worst customer experience that I have ever seen in Thailand.
There are better options in Chaweng! Read the comments before booking.
A very nice boutique hotel, quiet rooms. Nice restaurant. Chapter (villa) rooms are extremely luxurious and big and the private pool is amazing. Would definitely come back.
Sound Insulation between villas is not enough, could not sleep a night due to neighbor’s villa played music until 2 AM, reception could not make him/her lower the sound
The library is a silent sanctuary in the middle of Chaweng beach. Who has been to Chaweng might know that Chaweng is anything but silent. However the architect of the library managed to create a very calm noise free space, where you can just relax and read. The sun bean bags at the beach are so comfortable you will never want to get up. The service is on point, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Every evening they build a little beach bar with live music.
On our last day we were shown the “secret chapter” this is where the suites are located. Being at the Library for four days I would have never guessed that there is a whole different section of the hotel, it is completely hidden. Overall the hotels interior is very tasteful.
I highly recommend the library to anyone who loves to relax, enjoys tasteful interior and good service.
What an amazing hotel with incredible staff and a big big thanks to our villa host Monica for going over and above to look after us. See you again.
OMG! This place is insane. Is just perfect.check their website for photos.the best hotel concept ever
Very nice resort right on Chewang beach Koh Samui and has a great walkway with nice restaurants and bars.
What to say.just Perfect was here for a wedding.well organized.staff on duty all day long.very professional babysitters.and Congrats to Waen. #weareatypik
Something very different to other hotels in the area. Quirky and fantastical, attention to detail and with usual amenities but each with a twist. Quality food and beverage options, centrally located on the best of the busy Chaweng Beach front.
Nice place to sit but really iced down happy hour drinks and even though it wasn’t busy service was really slow. There are so many beach bars I recommend to go once then never again
The hidden jem in Chaweng beach. Red pool is a symbol. Red pool is a symbol, didn’t take a photo, please see it by yourselves
We stayed in the Secret Chapter which is a collection of beautifully styled villas complete with private pool and villa host. The food was delicious and it’s amazing to think you are only a 5 minute walk from the busy Samui Main Street and bars. When you stay you must also eat at Tapas, owned by the hotel at only 99 Baht, there is also a happy hour at Tapas and the drink gallery from 4pm to 8pm. The drinks are very high quality and the service beautifully delivered.
