Taboon Restaurant and Cafe reviews
53Wow this place is amazing, it's a little space, very relaxing, lovley staff and beautiful food, the best falafal I've ever tastes in my life and the salad was so good too, I'd highly recommend
Great restaurant! Amazing food, excellent service, good atmosphere!
the truth? More than in Israel!
respect!
Nice place but a bit expensive compared to the area. I ordered fruit salad. 180 bhat. Very small and simple.
Absolutely delicious sabih plate, big enough for two portions and with the most fabulously caramelized aubergine I've ever had the pleasure of eating.
The food at the place is delicious, but the portions are not very big and the prices are a bit expensive. Nice if you are looking for home food.
The food is great and the service is kind! Personally, it was strange to me that Malvah only comes with a paste, no tahini, no sachug or pickles.even so, everything was delicious! Great reductions!
Expensive for the island compared to Thai food, really not expensive for Israelis (:
Excellent hummus and mint tea. Very nice place but protect yourself well against mosquitoes
Food is OK, priced quiet high, which would have be OK if food was extraordinary or service, or beach front location.all to all we enjoyed but won't come again.
Anytime I go there, I know that I’m gonna have a great experience and it’s always true!
Great food, love it!
I have frequented this place a few times while being here in Koh Phangan. Good tasting food, fast service and the staff are friendly.
Good atmosphere in the evening time.
Worth a visit
Overpriced, mojito had no alcohol and was 90% ice, food not really middle eastern but more like israeli. Only chicken on the menu, no real lamb.
Everything we ordered was mediocre
Dips platter w like 5 different dips, figured was safe bet and at least one dip would be ok? Nope all of them just MEH Babaganoush is one of my favorites usually, but not this one. Boring flavor, just not yummy at all. Also: no hot sauce or anything spicy.
Mixed grill platter w lamb, chicken & veggies:
Lamb kebab was ok? Def the best of what we ordered, but that’s not saying much.
“Grilled” chicken was bland and flavorless, zero spices, zero “grilled flavor, ” tasted like it was fried in a pan without even salt or pepper.
Zatar bread was lacking enough herbs and spices to actually be called zatar bread.
The only thing that was actually good out of 1500 baht of food was the Greek salad.
Both my friend and myself were very much not impressed with this place ️ Boring flavors. Mediocre overall.
Compared to proper middle eastern restaurants, (I’ve eaten at quite a few, all over the world) this place sadly just doesn’t hold up. Had high hopes with all the good reviews. Definitely won’t order again.
Absolutely delicious. I had the lamb plate. Wow. Everything on that place was amazing. So flavoursome. Cooked beautifully. Wonderful service. And such a lovely environment to eat under the trees.
Avoid if you have serious dietary restrictions.
Many items on the menu are marked clearly as gluten-free and/or vegan, but these labela are a cynical nod to dietary trends and wholly inaccurate. I ordered a gluten-free vegan falafel plate, and checked three times with the serving staff that this was gluten-free. They assured me it absolutely was. Then a dish came out with what looked like standard pitta bread. I checked a fourth time and was told it was standard pitta with wheat flour. I would have been seriously ill if I'd eaten it.
They took the pitta away and I ate the fairly bland falafel with the dips provided. It was only when I went to pay that they told me one of the dips was mayonnaise and not vegan after all.
I'm so angry about this cavalier attitude to what are serious dietary restrictions to some people.
Don't trust any of the labelling for the dishes on the menu. And don't trust staff who assure you repeatedly about what is gluten-free and vegan.
The atmosphere is very nice and the service is very good. We had shakshuka which was very good and the grill plate which was really disappointed. The chicken was tough and without taste, the lamb kebab was better but nothing more and not really warm. The humus and the vegetables were ok. All in all between 3 and 4 stars
Lovely spot with a very nice atmosphere. Vegan items clearly labeled. A decent amount is vegan. Falafel is quite good as is the hummus.
Very nice and cozy restaurant. Friendly staff, good and tasty food and the best ice creams on island:)
Excellent food, fast service, very friendly and a nice pace to see and meet new people from around theworld.
I will definitely be back for more,
