Review of the restaurant: deplorable service! Unwelcoming staff, very long wait for average dishes.

Opinion only on the restaurant: why be called 'smile', when there is no smile? The service is therefore unwelcoming, very long and the dishes disappointing. Also disappointing to see the garbage stored under the terrace. There are surely better restaurants on the beach.

The most beautiful beach on the island that is still idyllic even eight years after the first time. The Smile Bungalows may not have the nicest accommodation, but they do have the best food and the best atmosphere on the beach. I can only recommend everyone to try it out! Getting there is a bit adventurous, either 4wd taxi, boat taxi or scooter + 30 minutes walk through beautiful nature, including an almost guaranteed chance of seeing monkeys.:)

Smile bungalow is quite simple, but clean accommodation. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The standard was way above the cheap price. The staff were very helpful and understanding - they helped me to solve the problem of my motorbike getting stuck on a bad road in the jungle. Recommended:)

We stopped by the restaurant after the jungle coastal hike from Haad Kom. Delicious drinks and food, smiling service. Also, when there are no boats, they can take you by car back to Haad Kom, for 400 to 500 bahts per person.

“Never book this place”

We booked this hotel, but it’s impossible to get there by land - it’s suicide, we almost had an accident, the bike was broken, we waited for 3 hours for the owner of the bike.) the hotel owner did not get in touch, even Agoda could not contact him. There is no notice in the description that it can only be reached by boats or SUVs, this was our first time on the island and we experienced such hospitality. As a result, the hotel owner refused to refund the money for a reservation that we did not use, according to the booking rules, although the description misleads customers. Ruining your image, rating and karma. Thank you for ruining your vacation, if you do not agree on a refund, this review will be posted on all maps and sites

Smile bungalows are very simple, but great. You can deal good price when stay longer.

You have only cold shower, but in hot weather its enough. You have hammock with a little terrace where you can enjoy your time.

It is remote from the civilization, but still many resturants around. No shops here. You can get here from a parking lot by taxi (200bhatt/ one way) or by feet (for free). Or you can get here by boat (i thing 250 bhatt/ person)

They cook very good in the Smile Bungalow restaurant and the staff is super nice, like family ️

You have also other options for food along the beach, so you can have many variations if you stay longer.

Every day there are little boats comming with tourist who simply enjoy the Beach and food here and then go back.

I stayed here for 20 days and I got in love with this place. The Beach is amazing, water clean and safe ️

There are some problems with wifi, which is not available all the time, so I would not recommmend for digital nomads.

The place is serving its purpose. To relax you and make you feel more light and bright:)

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Unless you want to be completed stranded in the middle of no where and the only way out is 600 bat a time. It adds up very quickly. Staff were extremely rude. The moment we got to are room it was in an awful state. Fans stopped working, only one light worked. It was nicer and so so so much cooler outside then in our room. We were so disappointed in the whole place we decided to leave before even spending the night.

Beautiful place, super away from the noise of the city.has a beach practically for you alone. Very friendly staff and 10/10 food

Bungalows are simple but the place is really amazing, I think it was my favourite place during my trip in Thailand
The restaurant at night was just magic, I loved its atmosphere
Staff were smiling and friendly, the only but are that they could give more info and sometimes I felt that some clients had priority
I would love to go again!
By the road the road to get there was not so complicated as people say, we were two people with bags and a bad motorbike, but still difficult and not for every driver (also signs were missing)

Best place to relax a few days. All people are very friendly and the Bungalows are nice and clean. We would definitly come back and tell our friends about this place.
Additional: Make sure to get here by taxi or water taxi. Just ask and they will tell you.

Toller Ort zum entspannen Personal halt wie so oft meist träge. Zimmer Reinigung nur nach Aufforderung, aber sehr sehr viel Flair

Gemütliche Bungalows am Hang Richtung Meer (Bottle Beach). Sehr schöne Location, weil schöner ruhiger Strand. Bungalows sind mit dem wichtigsten ausgestattet, kein Luxus aber definitiv ausreichend. Kein Zimmerservice, man musste das Klopapier selbst an der Rezeption abholen. Restaurant ist dirskt am Strand. Durch die Lage und das Mangeln an Alternativen sind die Preise aber eher hoch. Essen ist lecker.

Rented a moped from here in 2016 and back in 2014, the owner is really friendly and kind.
The bike was really good quality especially compared to the others you see in phangan, he also isn't strict with extra days and only charged for 1 day extra instead of 1 and a half or 2.

Would recommend, actually trustworthy and not trying to scam you.
