Silver Sands Beach Resort

We slept in a bungalow with a fan, a bit simple but enough with a fan, excellent location, really close to the center, and on the beach!
There was room service every day

We, 3 friends, stayed in one of the Silver Sands Bungalows. Comfortable stay, right on the beach and in the center of Koh Tao.

The beds were fine, but in the bathroom there was a hole that went directly out onto the street through which the water from the shower evacuated and through which 3 worms and other insects entered.

Weren’t too happy. Had the Deluxe Beachside Bungalow right at the beach. Thus, we thought this would be great. However, room not more than two stars and bathroom didn’t meet average standards. First night there was a rave next door (Lotus Bar). Trance Music till 1.30 am - impossible to sleep even with earplugs. Changing rooms next day was no problem though. The second room was better, the staff friendly. Definitely mixed feelings…

The receptionist is very pleasant and helpful. He speaks perfect English. The bungalows are perfectly located a short distance from the beach

Location was perfect, right on sairee beach. The room were huts with an en-suite and hammock out on the balcony. The room was very basic with limited toiletries and no water provided. It was clean but no toilet paper and in the bathroom you could see outside so I’m unsure if people can see in. The rooms have air con but this comes at an additional cost. This confused me a little as I think this should be a basic. You wouldn’t go somewhere and expect to pay to turn on the heating. It was noisy due to nightlife around the area but this didn’t seem to go massively late. It’s ok to stay for a couple of nights.

The rooms really need to be updated and cleaned better. There was a lot of mold in our room: on walls, blinds, and the air conditioning unit.

Beautiful resort and perfect small beach. If going there, make sure to rent a roller to be able to go out on Your own, street to the resort is really steep and off the crowded areas. That also makes it beautifully quiet. There are Taxis too. Some construction going on at the moment, but where not after pandemic.
Very lovely personel! Good food I'd say, except the breakfast; need a real coffee but the machine will be back soon. ;)

I would not recommend this accommodation. The location is great but the room does not meet basic standards. The bathroom in particular was a genuinely unpleasant space to be in. Some floor tiles were loose, the wall was half painted, the water pressure was abysmal, and the single light bulb in that room didn't work (which made showering at night impossible). The beds were comfortable enough but the pillows hurt my neck and I resorted to using a rolled up towel instead. There were also ants that came into the room and bit my boyfriend while in bed. The hammock was pretty nice though.

호텔은 모르겠고 오토바이 렌트는 절대하지마세요. 스크래치 내지도 않았는데 바닥 스크래치까지 숙이고 보면서 추가금을 요구합니다. 1700바트짜리 페널티데 500바트 달라더니 사진 찾아 우리가 안한거고 전부터 있던거라니깐 한참 싸우다 돌려줬습니다. 여권을 안주면서 맘대로하라고 배짱을 부립니다.
I don't know about the hotel, and never rent a motorbike. I didn't even scratch it, but I ask for additional money while looking down at the floor scratches. The penalty for 1700 baht was 500 baht, so I looked for a photo and said we hadn't done it before, so we fought for a while and returned it. They don't give you a passport, but they show their guts to do whatever they want.

Most friendly manager, centrally located and lively place with a natural setting. Easy access to the beach and everything.

Friendliest staff! We had a great stay. Room is spacious, everything works as it should, location is perfect and it’s not too loud even though it’s super central. Only thing that could be improved are the blinds- they were quite dirty. Will be staying again:)

Tour shop operator is a cheat, will trick you when giving change whilst stealing from you.

Wide selection of rooms AC, fan, bungalows, poolside rooms. Fair prices. Right next to DJL diving school.

On scooter rental only:

Silver sands scooter rental will make you sign a contract whereby you are responsible for the cost of replacement of any damaged or scratched part. Beware because roads are extremely steeps and dangerous. Accidents happen quite often. You, d better go a bit south of Sairee beach and look for the rental with insurrance. It is 100 bahts extra per day. I would have saved 3000 bahts in damages had i known.

Welcoming resort with diving school attached. Very friendly.the bar serves snacks and selection of Thai food. Resort rooms come with air conditioning fridge and overhead fan.some of the bungalows have fan only. Whilst rooms are basic they are clean and the beds are comfy.

Can't really use the beach. Cousy bungalows but very hot. Order aircon and not fan. Reception not very good at English but, they are friendly. Reason for 4 stars is definitely the djl that is next too. Full of happy and friendly divers
