Shangrila Bungalow

The rooms are old but clean. Service was great. It's right on a beautiful beach and a short walk from places to eat.

Three weeks in this hotel. I felt very comfortable It has 2 stars and is not a luxury resort. Everything you need is there. Nice, very attentive service. Friendly smile. My bungalow is very clean. Aaaand the location. I've never lived so nicely. What more do I need?

We booked for 3 nights and checked out after 1. Very outdated hotel and poorly ran. Should be shut down or they should significantly reduce the price. We paid almost the same price for a 4 star hotel the next day.

The rooms are awful, with zero amenities. Sellotape was used to waterproof the ceiling and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room.

The staff left at 9pm and didn’t inform us so when we arrived back at the hotel there was no hot water and no one around to fix it. They switched off all the lights so that we had to use a flashlight to get to the room

The hotel it’s self is clearly very dated with all the deck chairs broken and tatty, large areas without any furniture or decor, no sun loungers or chairs on the beach.

Lastly, the motorbike they provided had clearly been crashed recently, the steering was wonky and it was dangerous to ride. The staff checked the bike thoroughly the next day. I can’t help but think if we had crashed the bike because of the steering we would have been charged an arm and a leg.

Avoid this place.

Extremely friendly staff. We felt very comfortable. We received a free upgrade and were treated very well by the staff throughout our stay. The breakfast is a bit small, but sufficient. From the bungalow you can reach the beach in less than a minute. It takes around 20-25 minutes to get to Chaweng by scooter, but the route is very pleasant.

Convenient location, good room (no frills), has everything you need, refrigerator, safe. If you need dishes, you can ask at the restaurant. For those who come to the sea and the beach it’s wonderful!

A great hotel with a super nice and helpful staff! The beach is a palm paradise. Pool area rather small, but still super nice. Every day a man came to the beach who grilled corn, had coconut, mango or pineapple. So delicious! Since I was traveling alone, it was a little too quiet for me in the evening. I had to take a taxi/scooter to the nearest place that was busier. (Fisherman's Village, Chaweng Beach.) Otherwise top hotel

Not many amenities providered, overall a nice simple no frills resort. Breakfast was good. Nice beach and pool area. Easy to rent a bike.

Everything was fine. Super nice employees Beach location here is great. POOL unfortunately too warm. Restaurant great, breakfast great, room very large Absolute recommendation

Avoid the period of Russian customers, who compete for the palm of sympathy with the Chinese.if you are not a hotel guest, everything is payable, even if you consume, swimming pool, battery charge 200 baht

This place offers 110% from its potential - warm pool, Nice beach and very kind personel
Not only for pensioned ones but suitable also for families with kids. Take car - so you can travel to chaveng easily.

We had a great stay at the Shangrila Bungalow! The beach is beautiful and when you lay down under the palm trees you feel like you are in paradise our bungalow was a bit old fashioned, but the AC did a good job and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel also offers a restaurant which is good, but of course a bit more expensive than the restaurants in the streets. We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to relax

I recently stayed in a bungalow at Shangrila, and I can confirm that I had a fantastic experience. This was mainly because of the staff who made me feel very much at home. You can definitely tell that the team is solid and dedicated. They do everything to meet your needs. Location is very good, you can walk to the beach in your swimwear. Area very calm. Do not expect luxury inside the rooms. However, my purpose of the trip was not to spend time inside my room, but outside / in the water. Rooms have good aircon, and reasonable wifi speed. For home office work what requires a more speedy connection, they have a large area next to the reception where you can work in the aircon.

Schöne Anlage, Preis-Leistung ist super!
Wir fanden das Frühstück ist absolut ausreichend und die Lage in 1. Reihe zum Strand ist perfekt. Die Bungalows sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, jedoch sauber und mit AC ausgestattet. Da man sich ja sowieso den ganzen Tag draußen aufhält störte mich die etwas unmodern eingerichtete Unterkunft nicht. Wir würden wieder hier buchen:)

Die alten Bungalows sind so lala, hier schaut beim sonst durchaus guten Service Perspektivisch darauf zu profitieren, was durchaus verständlich ist jedoch nicht jeder mit sich machen lassen muss.

Hier ist halt vieles vom Wetter abhängig, so wie mit den Fähren.

This place has exceeded our large groups expectations. From booking to room arrangements to the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, you can't go wrong.

We had 21 people in our group including families of 4 and 5 and all were well accommodated.

The grounds are well kept. The Beach has a great view of akoh Phagnan and the pool has plenty of space!

Sehr schöne Anlage direkt am Meer, komfortable und einfache Bungalows, einige mit sicht zum Meer. Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis gebe Ich eine 2. Empfehlenswert würde Ich einen Motorroller mieten und den Internationalen Führerschein nicht zu vergessen, zwar verlangen die meisten keinen, aber wenn man Aufgehalten wird oder es passiert was (und das nicht zuwenig) hat man ihn besser dabei und eine Kopie vom Reisepass.

For the price I think it's probably unbeatable in the area. It's a nice 2* hotel which is clean and the grounds well kept, after a storm blew through the staff were straight on the beach clearing the debris. The location right on the beach is perfect, it's Koh Samui in a nutshell. Yes the food is not perfect and it's comparatively expensive, but get off your arse and walk up to the top of the road and go find where the locals eat and that's around 400 baht for a decent meal with drinks. The hotel I cannot fault for the price, the breakfast is good and I would go back here.

•If you want to book here go for the deluxe and not the standard room type.
We first stayed at the standard which was small with old furnishings. It’s is so old that you cannot even understand if it’s clean.
Furthermore the mattress is so old and used that it has body pits in it.
•We extend our stay at a deluxe which is much better and bigger.
•Both rooms has Ac.
•It would be nice if they maintain the standard room and fix the water pressure.
Also the sun beds need fixing.
•The breakfast basic with very nice fruits.
The latte coffee ️ amazing!
•The top of the top is the location!
Just have in mind that you will need a scooter for transportation.

Wooden bungalows are outdated with hard beds and some mould in the bathroom, which does not offer any cabinets to put your toiletries.
However, the beach is awesome, a true paradise and the pool and breakfast are also more than decent. Overall good price/quality ratio.
You have a lot of food options if you walk towards the main road.
