Sea Gate Beach Resort

Very cheap price, $10 per night.

BUT: no airco, no hot water, no free water bottles, no little fridge / mini bar, no safe, no curtains.

No hotline. I left my keys inside and tried to get help at 22: 00… no reply, no reception…

The complex is super close to the beach. Every morning you get coffee, tea and bananas. The people there were nice and we were even offered a new fan because the other one was older. Great for relaxing on the beach, we were actually alone on the beach most of the time so it was very quiet. With the scooter you can get to restaurants, shopping, etc.in just a few minutes:)
Would book it again

We stayed at Sea Gate Beach Resort for almost 10 days in total. From here you could quickly get to ThongSala - it had its own beach and if you had any questions or organized ferries and taxis, you could arrange this from the resort at no extra charge.

Very nice place by the sea. The owners are friendly and the bungalow was basic but nice. I would have appreciated a nicer blanket, but I was satisfied as it’s a budget room in Thailand. Property is lovely, quiet and very relaxing. There’s a small beach and you’re just a short motorbike away other beaches on the island. I came here for a night before a longer stay I had booked at a resort, but would have happily stayed longer!

Nice location, nice staff.
Only downside, the water from the shower and tap smells very strongly of sewage… a little disgusted to take the shower with yellow water…

I stayed nearly 2 Month and I have nearly no negative concerns. Ants, mosquitos and sand is normal.
The Water smells like excretion but I'm not picky there also.

But.

(its not the A/C or the Money, what I'm upset about. It's his attitude and Way of Behaviour towards me.)

We had to change the Room for 3 Days and from Day one the aircon did not work properly. It suddenly turned off and even suddenly turned on.
In an annoying frequency, every 2-3 Minutes.
I asked him 3 Times to fix it, what he did everyday directly. But always after some hours it happened again. The whole 3 nights, when I tried to sleep, the aircon was beeping and not working properly.

After these Days, I asked for a very little refund, because I paid in advance for A/C.

He said, he wouldn't believe me.

Just the difference to a Fan room.
Just to be honest and kind.

But he insisted, I was not telling the truth.
(he already "fixed" it 3 Times but I'm a Lier.)

He even told me, he was observing my Room at night and in the morning and saw the aircon working from Outside.
Even when I wasn't there, what is funny.
I really don't wanted to scam him for 10 Dollars or so, but seemingly he was.
So he seems to be manipulative also.

End of the Story, he lost 4 Customers now.
He already made several hundred Dollars with me and my friends and could make even way more.

But he scammed me for 10$.: D
Not the smartest move, really.

Gives a deep insight after that Time.
I'm really disappointed by his everyday kindness.

Patrick, their wife and their staff were super helpful and accommodating! Sea gate is nestled right at the beach and the atmosphere is super relaxing and welcoming! I’ve read through some of the reviews and all I can say is that people have forgotten that their part of nature and living in it requires us to be adaptable. I throughly enjoyed my stay at sea gate and wish it wasn’t all booked out.

Nice, clean and quite place. Owner helped us and we could stay two more nights (as there was storm) even he was booked. We like to sit on veranda and eat fruits with coffe.

Double fan room:
This place is what you make of it, the other reviews give an accurate idea of what this place is like, as long as you are aware in advance you will have a good stay here.

The setting is very nice, right on the ocean, with a beach that stretches all the way to the pier but only when the tide is out, when the tide is in the water goes right up to the wall and there are some deck chairs you can sit on. The gardens around the huts are very pretty and well maintained.

The owners were friendly, make sure you tell them your arrival time so they are around when you check in.

The room itself is very basic as expected and pictured, the fan kept us cool while we slept and the bed is fairly comfy, for storage we had a 3 tier rack, a short hanging line, and a washing line outside. As others say the shower is only cold, and does have a slight sulfar smell, but it is okay. The balcony is nice to sit on.

Overall for the price and during a full moon party i was very happy to stay here and it was ideally located close to lots of restaurants and social hostels if you want to go to bars, but it is also very quiet.

There were just a few negatives that i feel even with the very cheap price, should be provided. No soap, you should be given a small handbar of soap. Toilet paper you have to ask for, it should just be left in the room. Our room was missing a curtain on one of the windows. The room was fairly clean in terms of bedding and the floor, but was in need of a deep clean to get to the areas a standard clean does not e.g down the side of the bed, the light switches, mirror, walls etc.

They look like they are currently renovating some of the huts so i think with a bit of renovation this place will be really nice, but even without it its still good for a basic beachside accomadation.

Extremely rude personnel, had a conflict with the Thai owner which was completely unsolvable in regular conflict solving terms. Whenever I stated I don’t know what to do (I couldn’t cancel my booking through Agoda) I was told “this is your responsibility to cancel, not ours” and “why did everybody except you manage to cancel? ”

Following that whichever question or request was first taken in aggressively, like
“you know this is not a 5 star hotel right? ”
when I asked if I can have a sheet instead of using plain blanket which I wasn’t sure was washed

Never ended up staying but they helped us cancel when we realised we booked the right place.legends!

We arrived a 2 hours early due to the ferry arrival time, we were allowed to drop our bags in but could not enter the room as they said it was needing to be cleaned, supposedly, and ready for us by 2pm, which we were fine with as the check in time was 2. When we got into the room, a wave of egg hit us, the bed had a multiple large stains on, wine, blood maybe and a recognisable white stain. When we were sat relaxing, contemplating whether it is what is is or to bail, we were all bitten multiple times from the possibly bed bugs. We needed to then freshen up, unfortunately the water genuinely made us feel more dirty and it was extremely metallic along with the ant infestation behind the toilet/ shower. The three of us knew it was a very cheap, simple, basic accommodation and if you’re coming to have a wild party one and not fussed about the things above then go ahead as it is very cheap, but we feel the basic minimum level of cleanliness was not there, as my girlfriend wiped the toilet seat with a dry tissue and a lot of dirt came off.which just shows minimal effort of cleaning. All sounds pretty dramatic but just saying as honestly as it was, and I guess a little warning to fellow travellers.

We were surprised when we arrived as we were shown to a room with a fantastic beach view! The room was basic but nice, it was very quiet the only noises were the animals, there were lots of birds, dogs and lizards

The owner was really nice, he checked us in very quickly and was always around if we had any issues.

Great and peaceful place. The owners are really smart and helpful.

We were staying 7 days in the property, however, on last day, day after full moon party, we came dirty with sand to find there was no water left, we had buy 6 bottles of water to wash ourself, its the most important day to have water, but none left.
They are not connected to the system and they use rain water.
None the less, we wanted refund for that day and refund for 6 bottles of water and the lady did not give us any and start yell on us.
We paid so much money for full moon accommodation and this is the result.

We had a great time at the Seagate Beach Resort. Both owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. We had the A1 bungalow directly at the seafront and since we were travelling with a toddler, the owners went out of their way to accommodate us and bought a brand new baby crib. Of course we read the older reviews here, but let me assure you that you'll have a good time here as long as you have some basic manners and don't behave like stereotypical full-moon-party jocks.

Amazing place, really friendly staff, great food and value for money. Room are big in size and the spot its very relaxing.
