Samui International Meditation Center reviews
7Wonderful experience the 3-day meditation course! Together with teachings about meditation and some interesting things about Buddhism, it gives the opportunity to participate to some activities with the monks, like collecting food offers from the local people.
My girlfriend and I went for a 3 days meditation retreat. We loved it. Notwithstanding the fact that some of the monks were native english speakers, we loved their openness, jokes and they genuine interest of helping us improving our meditation skills. We were afraid that we HAD to do it the right way, the buddhist way, but they really only wanted us to have better meditations. Of course, we were introduced to the ideology of Buddhism and we were really lucky to be able to participate in some of their daily rituals (go in the village to help them receive food, morning chant in front of the sunrise on the beach, blessings of the food received).
As someone who meditate in a non-religions way, I had a wonderful time there and I feel privileged to have been able to interact and share the life of these monks for three days.
Amazing people, great food, lots of wisdom. The 3 days meditation retreat was a blast in understanding of mind and meditation and an escape from everyday distraction. The hospitality and support from the monks and team was incredible. Definitely come back and can recommend. Thanks ️
Amazing experience at the international meditation center in Samui. They welcomed us from different cultures, colors and race with open arms and hearts. Most amazing was when we went for offerings with the monks, some people had as little to give them as two oranges for contributions to them, as little or a lot was given to them, they repay with they’re blessings and share whatever excess food they get with poor and homeless. We take nothing with us to the next life, only our actions in this one will defy us for who and what we are
Attended for the second half of a retreat. We had already met some of the monks up North and they are great, very keen to teach and also to receive feedback on improvements needed. Rooms are clean.
This place will give you a real cultural experience in Koh Samui that you can't gain as a tourist. The meditation center is very open to different lengths of meditation teaching and experiences and it is very easy to message the center using facebook messenger to arrange something.
Myself and my wife messaged Monk Punnadhammo a couple of days before arriving in Koh Samui and asked if we could stay a night and 1 day to experience some guidance in meditation and mindfulness. Monk Punnadhammo was very responsive and helpful and we arranged to stay and receive some teaching from him personally which we felt very privileged about. The cost was reasonable and provided us a place to stay for 1 night for 2 people and food for the entire day for 2 people. The day began at 6.00am with a short introduction and then straight into practical meditation which was great. Throughout the day we had 4 meditation practices which included information, examples and teaching points. Inbetween each session there was plenty of time to eat the very generous breakfast and lunch that we were provided and to have some breaks to walk the grounds or take some time back in our room.
I would recommend Samui International Meditation Center to anyone who is interested in bettering themselves and broadening their understanding of meditation, mindfulness and Buddhism practices. Monk Punnadhammo was very friendly and spoke very good English. Although it was only 1 day, I have improved my ability to focus my mindfulness and to remain physically resilient in positions for meditation. It was a great start to meditation and an experience I will rememeber for a long time. Monk Punnadhammo, it was a privilege to be taught by you. Thank you
