Samui Elephant Sanctuary reviews
14A really very reliable and proven place! I recommend it 100%. The guide answers questions very carefully and tells the story of elephants in Thailand. A very tasty lunch at the end of the trip.
Perct place to take a rest and sit with a great view - nice stuff - 3 elephants living in harmony- good coffee
Outstanding Experience - we spent an amazing morning at Samui Elephant Sanctuary and highly recommend you visit. We learned a lot and had some informative experiences: made elephant food, fed some elephants, watched them bathe, touched and took pics with the more trusting elephants and ate a tasty lunch. The staff were truly amazing and the price, 3000B each, supports a great cause!
Beautiful and huge elephant sanctuary. The visit is highly recommended. The guide explains everything very interestingly and in detail. Preparing food for the elephants together, followed by a walk through the palm jungle and feeding the elephants. At the end we also had a delicious lunch
We had a very good experience. The elephants appear well fed and happy, and the rules they put in place about only touching the trunks when feeding seem good for the animals. They are trying to educate young people in Thailand about beautiful elephants and how unnecessarily cruelly they are treated as working animals.
The price sounds expensive, but does include transport, drinks and a meal.
The one-star review, with the spike, does not look like the place we went to. There were no white fences, and the keepers wear a uniform.
We had an amazing morning at the Chaweng sanctuary, which rehabilitate elephants traumatised after years in the logging/tourism industry. We learnt about Thailand's elephants, helped make their food and fed them and got to walk among them. It was a wonderful experience and would recommend for anyone wanting an 'elephant' experience in Thailand (NO riding).
Sehr schöne Auffangstation. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis. Man hat den Eindruck, dass es den Tieren gut geht dort.
Phenomenal experience…can’t recommend enough. For a reasonable price they provide transportation, lunch, and a few hours of feeding the elephants and being around them. The tour provided lots of good information about the hard lives these ladies lived before coming to the sanctuary. If you want to see elephants in Thailand, this is the way to do it.
Very interesting and fun. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch served was very good!
Excellent place. Do not go to any other "sanctuary". Only here do people deeply care for those poor animals.
We got to feed and pat elephants on their trunks, in the morning and then walked around, and looked at these majestic beauties doing their thing. One came close and smelled me.
It’s a good place with nice people. The elephants just get to do what they want, so that’s nice. No male or baby elephants though, just retired old females with sad stories of human abuse. It’s well worth a visit:)
A REAL ETHICAL SANCTUARY!
Elephant do what they want, we got to feed them and we just observed them in the jungle, we learned their tragic stories bedore they were rescued, the guide is excellent and a fantastic elephant lover u can tell, he touched my heart as much as the elephant!
Great overall experience! The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Morning snacks/coffee is provided in addition to the lunch after the tour.
