Feeling so much gratitude had the most beautiful experience at the breathwork teacher training in Greece thank you!

A facade for spirituality.

Samma Karuna, a yoga and tantra school, presented itself as a haven for couples like us seeking to explore tantra together.

However, the reality was far from the serene, spiritual experience we anticipated. Upon arrival, we were dismayed to be informed that our exploration would demand separation, as they insisted on pairing us with “experienced students”.
Our expressed intent of monogamy was utterly dismissed, a blatant disrespect that left us uncomfortable.

The discomfort escalated when we overheard the receptionist insinuating to a new student that her unease with certain exercises indicated a need for them, a predatory tactic masked as guidance. This was not just manipulation but a glaring red flag.

Given the notoriety surrounding sexual misconduct on the island, the actions and implications by Samma Karuna were not only irresponsible but dangerous. The cultish atmosphere paired with a coercive approach to personal boundaries was alarming.

We cut ties immediately with this predatory establishment and strongly caution others against being ensnared by its deceptive allure.

The Free Tantra class from the graduates was absolutely incredible! Thoughtful, warm, a very powerful and lovely series of exercises that was seamless and inspiring.

Samma karuna was not a nice experience for me. I was dispointed by the behaviour of some teachers and also the owner. There was problems with boundaries that were not respected. Specially in tantra classes. Really disappointed

Beautiful experience.
I did my Breathwork Facilitator Training in april - may 2023 in Greece and loved it.
Time flew during those 26 days and I came back with a new family.
Excellent teachings and loving people.

Samma Karuna is home to a beautiful community of souls working dutifully to develop themselves personally and socially, in a dedicated but open minded and non-dogmatic style of tantric Buddhism. I would strongly recommend attending any course here to anyone looking to get in touch with deeper or hidden layers of who they are, no matter your background or religion, or even just anyone wanting to try something new while having a lovely holiday. You will be welcomed and supported, safe and comfortable, and able to choose which classes to attend. The location is close to many popular features of Koh Phangan, with many great restaurants and beach right outside. At Samma Karuna it’s almost impossible not to make friends and fit in. I cannot recommend this place and its offerings highly enough. I will be coming back. You will not regret staying there or nearby. Do yourself a favour and give this place a try.

I had a great time during my month long stay at Samma Karuna. There are a lot of different classes to experience beyond the excellent range of yoga they offer & there are some great yoga teachers. I took part in some of their somatic therapy workshops too & learnt some good skills to bring home. The retreat itself is well run, has comfortable bungalows & the facilities & yoga halls are delightful, with stunning views of the ocean. The sunsets here are stunning, the location perfect.

Samma Karuna is a place where I feel like home. The community is really supportive, the teachers are very professional and the campus is stunning (multiple halls, beach access, vegan restaurant).
I did the Bio Dev teacher training and volunteered for one month. Both of these experiences very really amazing and allowed me to have gone through so much healing since then. My heart is open now and I'm grateful for all the gifts I received there!

I came here as a volonteer for 1 month without any expectations but with the intention to grow.
What a journey!
All the clases whether it was meditation, tantra, yoga or even breathwork were transformative.
I connected to my soul and finaly understood what listening to your heart really means.

I would give all the stars in the universe for this heaven. Im still digesting the fruits from all the classes i joined. I wish i could have stayed longer. The energy of the place and everyone from the reception to the teachers to the volunteers have been warm and enlighting.
I really feel like they are giving from the heart.

Most of the teachings were new to me except and it did push me beyond my comfort level, and that's exactly what I've been longing for after 2 years of feeling stuck.

Its a wholesome dynamic retreat, if you are looking for a transformation, be open to what SM has to offer. Youll not regret!

A recommendation perhaps, instead of selling a day pass make in a min 3 days passes that can be used within the same week. That way, familiar faces would be in the classes and easier to connect!

The best experience I've ever had so far in Thailand for Yoga, meditation and experiential classes! Amazing instructors, tasty food, kindest staff, beautiful location, vast assortment of classes. I was supposed to stay one week and ended up extending my stay to 2 weeks. My biggest thanks to Khun Noi, Ishi and the rest of the big Samma Karuna family ️

This is a very special kind of spiritual centre. Amongst all of the places on Koh Phangan, I have found none that combine the diversity offered here - traditional yoga, meditation, spiritual talks, emotional release practices, kirtan, dance etc.and all with such big heart! And great value. The richness of their community is also enhanced by having dedicated volunteers that lend a family vibe, and community meals etc. And all on the beach! I am so grateful to have returned here again this year, and look forward to next time. Thank you SK!

I came to Samma Karuna for a month of volunteering. As a volunteer, I also participated in their Awakening and Healing programme and took part in almost all of the classes school had to offer, + had a chance to see school's operations from inside. General observation and echo coming from other students and participants was lack of genuine care and interest. For example, after some of the breathwork sessions, no aftercare was provided. No integration. For many students, traumas and other things came onto surface, yet Samma most of the times shied away from any accountability or responsibility.

Additionally, despite working for them for free for a month (no accommodation or food provided), many of the teachers did not care enough to learn volunteers' names (3 of us), despite meeting them almost daily.

Generally, apart from a few authentic yoga classes, this place offers pseudo-spirituality. Their teaching techniques are often random and made up as courses progress (the case with TTC).

Coming to a spiritual SCHOOL (that exists for years), one would expect a stable curriculum and clear guidance, body of knowledge. Unfortunately, quality here is not as high as could be.

Additionally, big big issue is lack of boundaries and consent. Consent is non-existant here and personal, physical, boundaries are oftentimes bipassed. This is a big issue especially for people that experienced sexual trauma, harrasment or in general do expect consensual interaction (which should be a norm!). Again, after a few students were triggered by non-consentual fouch and pushing the boundaries, school shifted the responsibility to an individual, defending their approach as "correct".

Of course, there are also lovely people as Noi and other students, but in general, I was very dissapoited. I don't think it is worth your money.

Nevertheless, I hope school manages to learn, re-evaluate their techniques and possibly improve for the sake of future incomers.

I took the Tantra Training Course in Greece, and was blown away! One intense month with a deep and personal learning process through meditation, dancing, playing, classes, human encounters and inner process. The teachers live what they preach, and they are amazing! Say yes to the whole experience, and you will get a lot more than you came for ;)

Amazing school on the beach, I completed my breathwork facilitator training here and so much healing and personal development took place. I met amazing people on this journey and all the staff and food and facilities are amazing.
I will be back to take part in their awaken healing program that offers so much ️
