Sail Rock

Good dive site but you need to get lucky with visibility and whalesharks to fully experiance it. Might be a bit of a boat ride, depending on where you start from. For us it took us 1,5 to 2 hours with the boat from Koh Tao, the price was around 2200 baht depending on if you combined it with some other packages.

Had two dives during the day, water was foggy in many spots and could see very little. However, where water is clear the location is very nice and we could see a couple of barracudas that swam close to us.

It was great we were the only bout there and saw a whale shark.

Beautiful spot for scuba diving. Lots of colorful fishes to see. There were quite a few other Divers as well, but not too many. Didn't get to see a whale shark though.

Great diving spot, see big grouper, sea otter, many beautiful coral ⋯ Although the wind is a bit big today, I don’t see the whale shark, but next time I have the chance, I will come here to dive to find the whale shark!

Gorgeous diving. So much sea life, especially the big stuff. Schools of thousands of fish were a highlight for me!

Extremely overrated for a dive site! Don’t get me wrong it has huge potential but it’s not just good enough! I went 3 times 2 dives per trip.out of 6 Dive only one was with a good visibility (8m +-)
Lots of schools of fish and giant Groupers but affected bu visibility all the time! Now it’s the funny part.the other 5 Dives which one of, is the second dive after the only one with good visibility. All of them visibility 1m if not less! You are actually tense throughout cos you literally cant see your dive buddy! Forget about the divemaster! 2 out of 6 so choppy that most of the divers Throw up! Again for the money and time you spend.not worth it!

Did my PADI open waters course, diving by the sail rock. Really nice place, with loads of various sea creatures and corals. Love the chimneys that go from the bottom to the top of underwater part of the rock. Really cool place to dive

My favourite dive site near Koh Tao. You may see groups of Barracuda, Queen fish, Travelly. It's really worth to pay more to dive here.

Sail Rock is one of the best dive sites you can visit off the coast of Thailand. Situated about 2.5 hrboat ride from Koh Tao, it creates its own island as the pinnacle juts out of the gulf.
Sail Rock is a bustling reef with tons of colorful coral and countless schools of fish. There is a 12m "chimney" or small vertical cave that definately sets it apart from any other reef in Thailand I've seen so far (and I've seen all that are publically offered) A must see for any scuba enthusiast!

The visibility wasn't exactly great. A lot of fish, giant grouper, baracuda.
Guess it's the best divesite in the east of Thailand but still not comparable to best divesites of the world.

Never had a good dive here. Always some problems with the Vs. 3-5 m. Pity though. It has abundant marine life here. Should be beautiful if the Vs are good. Very crowded underwater.

Best place to dive in Koh Tao. Don’t missed if you like diving and see full of school of fishes and may be the great whale shark!

This is one of my best dive so far. The place is amazing, and I got lucky because the visibility was very good, something around 20-25 meters. The dicing school I go was great, they really helped with all the small details. I could see lots and lots of marine life, it was just amazing. And there is thus chimney where you can pass thru it. The sensation is awesome. It was absolutely worth it and I want to do it again and again and again.

Number one divong spot in Koh Tao and generally the Gulf of Thailand. Sail rock is a steep pinacle with flourishing corals on the underwater walls. Lively marine animals are to be found on and in every corner

Thailand turned on a cracked of a dive which just happened to be my 100th dive. Amazing numbers of fish.never ending schools.
