Renaissance Koh Samui Resort

The place is beautiful in general but the rooms need a bit of update. There were no sockets in the room for different types of chargers or USB ports to charge our phones, we had to ask for them so it would be nice and more comfortable for guests to have this set in the room.
It was very noisy because of the frogs, and we had to change the room because the toilet started becoming very smelly, but other than that everything was great.
The staff is very kind and professional, specially Mr. Tong, always very helpful and polite. Mr. Pook came to help us with the luggages, he is also very professional and kind.
The housekeeping staff were very efficient and even came twice per day to clean our room.
We wouldn’t mind to come back to this hotel again!

A wonderful stay at renaissance koh samui. I love resort with a lush forest garden because this sets you in a relax mood which completely different from the city buildings brought. Renaissance is definitely the one, with well kept gardens and red brick roads leading to the main pool and quiet beach, walking along the trials inside the resort, breath the fresh air generated by the lush garden, what a tranquil atmosphere especially in this off peak season with few guests. The only down point is the room equipment, although the room is tidy and clean, but the furniture is very outdated and needs immediately upgrade, if you are looking for a modern resort, this is not the one.

Excellent food at the restaurant Tawann. We did not stay at Renaissance. Amazing views from the restaurant. Lovely staff. We have been here for times now for a meal - eating the Pad Thai each time including they cater for gluten free and vegetarians.

What a wonderful resort. However, as with most places in Koh Samui, the photos can be deceiving, into leading you to believe that there is a swimming beach in front of the pool. There is no such thing, in fact it is hard to find a swimming beach with easy access on the entire island.
That aside, the staff here are exceptional, from the garden maintenance and general maintenance folks, through to reception and self acclaimed 'COO'
The buffet breakfast is absolutely awesome, especially if you have teenage boys. Ours had a 3 hour (and more) fest, every day. The pool is welcoming and lovely, the gym is perfect, although a bit dated. The exercise pool is perfect. The villas are amazing, although a bit dark inside.
Definitely recommended, but bear in mind, as with most places on this side of the island, getting to a restaurant or to shops does require the use of a taxi - we used the free shuttle and made it work

I’d love to share my experience here, the service of every staff is really friendly and helpful. Especially when we arrived, the receptionist “WHITE” is very considerable and caring. I really had great time here with my boyfriend and very enjoyed the birthday celebration here. And, need to highly recommend the restaurants in side the resort, both are very delicious and valuable. Won’t be regret for the experience here. Thank you guys for the great service.

ห้องพักก็จะมีแบบอาคารกับแบบวิลล่า ถ้าวิลล่าแล้วได้ซีวิวก็โอเคอยู่ แต่ถ้ามองราคาไม่สูงมากนัก ห้องพักแบบอาคารวิวทะเลก็อาจจะเป็นตัวเลือกที่ดีเหมือนกัน

Exceptionally great hotel, with the nicest staff I have ever encountered. Great location on a quiet beach not far from Lamai center, great well-kept gardens, great pool villas, unique service, great food. You can only give this hotel a 10/10 rating. Thank you Chin and your whole team for your hospitality. I will come back for sure.

For sports/fitness oriented people: gym was nicely equipped (if with a somewhat weak air con), the 50m lap pool was great (no evening/night lighting in spring of 2022 tho). Food/service/rooms splendid.

It’s a fantastic resort to stay back with your family. Our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed each and every moment. Very well located and offers private beach as well to spend time with your close ones.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. We had one of the beach front villas and loved the room and private pool. The service here is perhaps the best I've ever had, the employees really want to create a great experience for you. Beds are very comfortable and made sleeping here a delight. The only issues are the location and the beach itself. This hotel is a bit of a walk from the main strip in Lamai Beach. It is walkable, but you'll want to get a ride most of the time probably. The water itself is not pleasant to swim in here. There isn't much the hotel can do about that, but the water is shallow and rocky. You'll want to swim elsewhere on the island if youre looking for a beach swimming vacation.

I have been here for two weeks, and it is certainly one of the best hotels in Koh Samui. If you want to surf or party, it is not the right hotel for you. But if you look for a friendly place to relax on a tropical island, it is a good choice. The tropical garden is wonderful, and contains giant Mango trees and huge Banana plants. There are 3 restaurants and 2 bars: the main restaurant "Banana Leaf", a special restaurant "TawaNN" which offers regional dishes, a "Tapas Bar" which also is a bar, and a pool bar. The Thai food is excellent, and everyone working in the restaurants is extraordinary friendly (esp. Prae, Jeans, Katie and Bow from TawaNN and Tony, Max, Peachy, Dew, and Yui from the Banana Leaf). You have to try the "Sunshine Pancake" and the "Samui Style Egg Benedict" for breakfast! You can have dinner at the beach, and the "Navigator" (how they call the concierge) fulfills special wishes. The SPA is very professional and the TV flatscreens in the rooms are huge.

A beautiful resort with its own private beach, and the sea there is a lot clearer than the public beaches on the island. Our villa was cleaned to the highest standards and the housekeeping ladies are doing their job amazing. We had our own private pool, besides the main pool for all the guests of the resort, which is right above the private beach. Everything is just perfect, but I would like to highlight the staff who made our stay the best ever. I recommend you to make this resort your first choice if you are visiting Koh Samui.

This resort is just like heaven:) The staff was the friendliest and the most kind people I’ve ever had opportunity to speak with, they really helped me with everything I needed. Our pool villa was just amazing, the bed, the pool, the bathroom, everything was really amazing!
We had a rich breakfast where we could choose from plenty of food and everything was so delicious. The main pool was near the beach and the water was so clean.
We had a private beach in front of the hotel, and we really enjoyed every second of our stay there. I can’t wait to come back again!:)

We had the best time at this resort. Beach, fitness center, pools, beautiful grounds, places to sit and enjoy the views. The restaurant for breakfast buffet was fabulous and the staff of all the departments were very customer service friendly. Fabulous 6 night stay.

We stayed here for two nights, and loved our stay. I'm writing this review on our last morning, and planning to return. The setting is so lovely. The beach is great - it's a small cove with waters protected by a reef, so the water is calm and warm - with plenty of shade. The sunsets are amazing. The hotel provides kayaks and paddleboards for guests. The several restaurants are all excellent, and the staff are fantastic. The landscaping is superb - like a tropical botanical garden surrounded by jungle - with Thai artwork sprinkled throughout the grounds. The rooms are great. Everything works. It's like being at a resort on the north shore of Kauai (Hawaii) - reminiscent of Polynesia. Not a club scene, for which we are grateful. Truly tasteful.

Such a nice stay here. Nice accommodation in Ocean Pool Villa. Room made up every day and turned down for us at night. Very good choice of food and quality excellent. Eating down by the sea at Paradise Exists so relaxing. Many hours chilling by the pool with the gentle sounds of the waves lapping against the sandy beach, cocktail in hand. Staff very friendly offering great service.

Incredible resort and fantastic staff, highly recommended!

I stayed at the Renaissance in Nov 2019 with my partner, and we absolutely loved it.
We were there during low season and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a private pool villa (Marriott gold member). The villa was meticulously clean and very well maintained, it also was very spacious and fitted with 2 A/C. We were facing the garden which meant we were immersed in green with tropical trees and plants, birds and little animals (loved watching the squirrels whilst chilling by the private pool).

The resort had a number of complimentary items such as sun screen, water shoes, kayak, paddleboards to name a few. When we were there they also had free activities like Yoga, Thai massage class and (my favourite) cocktail class by the pool!

Last but not least what made our stay special were the staff members. Everyone was extremely friendly, cordial and attentive, starting from the front office to the restaurant staff to the pool staff.  
Although this resort is part of a large chain we still felt we had a very intimate experience, staff members made an effort to remember our names, asked us about our stay and our plans for the day, gave us some recommendations and made sure we had all we need. We definitely felt very spoilt!

We really loved our stay and would recommend the Renaissance to anyone visiting Koh Samui.
