Raja ferry port Donsak reviews
15Always it is a nice impression when I reach Donsak coz is already 1 step away from Phangan, Samui and Koh Tao. It means I entered into the Free World, my beloved part of Asia. Especially the White Buddha statue which welcoming or firewalling you in this bay of Raja and Sea Trans.
Just horrible. This ferry releases black fumes non stop. Hard to breathe. These vessels should be decommissioned.
Be careful this morning I bought a ticket at the Raja Ferry koh samui counter, boat + mini bus, the girl didn't give me my change on the 1000 baht given.it was 4: 40 am, too tired I didn't check.
Ferry boats here to samui 1 1/2 hrs and koh phangan 2 1/2 hrs. Foot passengers don't need to book in advance but if you have a car and it's a busy day, be sure to book in advance. Prices have recently gone up. Boats are old and often late, service not great but it's an experience!
Very outdated ferry. Condition is pretty poor especially the toilet. Please do use ahead of the ride, not at the boat. Air con room wasn't that cold on the way to Samui but slight better on the way back. Would suggest to take Seatran ferry if timing allows. Booking in advance is recommended otherwise there can be a long queue. For the ride, please arrive at least 30 mins ahead of time and it takes around 2 hours.
If you don't get a ticket for the other ferry operator, Raja ferry port Donsak will not disappoint you. We haven't had a ticket to koh Samui. All full booked at the other one. But this one let us on the ferry and after 9 hours driving, we where so happy.
We booked online a day before for a 12: 00 o'clock ferry, got there 15 minutes before ready to board with our car only to be told that they were full. What's the point of having an advance booking?
Ferry is older and slower than Seatrans.

Please be aware, if you do a prereservation that the ferry departure time will be between 1 - 2 hours later. In addition, the boots are dirty and rusty and slower than the Seatran ferry. We have used Raja 4 times and always delayed by 2 hours. Thanks but no more again.
Got the ticket online, arrived late but they helped to change free of charge the ticket (upon availability). The staff is very kind and made our waiting in the queue much more comfy.thank you
Avoid at all costs. ANY other ferry operator is better for traveling to Koh Samui. Minimum 2 hours delay. Always. Absolutely horrendous attitude of staff also, they roll their eyes at you and walk away when you ask any questions. They are unhelpful.
Ferries are a bit old, they arrived late, the time on the website and the ferry times were different. No one speaks English… but I did managed to get the ferry to Koh Phangan so I can’t complain too much.
If you have the money I would probably use a more expensive provider.
I have no words for this company. A one-day trip to Koh Phangan was turned into a two-day trip due to a boat collision with a pier. We were stuck on the shore for 6 hours. When we asked for some financial compensation, we were refused and had to stay overnight on Koh Phangan. As we missed the last ferry due to a six hour delay. The next morning we arrived at the port, where we found that the connections from Koh Phangan to Koh Samui had been canceled all day, allegedly due to the weather. At the counter we were trying to figure out how to get to Koh Samui. Unfortunately, no one advised us. Thanks to a local gentleman, we found out that the only way to get to Koh Samui is to go from Koh Phangan to Donsak and from Donsak to Koh Samui. We were happy to finally get to the hotel where we have all our things. We were supposed to leave Koh Phangan for Donsak at 14: 00, but as is the custom of this company, we were delayed by two and a quarter hours. Of course again due to the delay we couldn't get to Koh Samui as we missed the last connection. The people at the counters are very reluctant. One big comedy. Btw. I have never written a bad review in my life but this company cost us so much money and so much time on our vacation. And above all, a lot of nerves. I strongly do not recommend.
