Raja Ferry, Samui Port

The actual ferry ride is fine, but on both sides of my journey I booked my ferry online and both ferries were canceled with no notice. Ended up having to wait over an extra hour both times. They need to update their booking system so that it reflects the fact that the ferries do not always run.

The ferry is much slower compared to Seatran. The ships are old and schedules are often missed. Was booked on the 10am ferry which departed at 11.30

Our trip was delayed for 40 minutes without much explanation. The facilities self is top-notch with a nice little restaurant, delicious food and a coffee shop with air conditioning waiting.

From Samui to Donsak takes 2,5 hours, not 1,5 as they promise, a lot of delays and boats are very old.

2 big reasons that might help you make decisions to avoid or prepare more carefully to take service from Raja Ferry.

1. Super delay, Lack of good management
- we book depart time at 9am. We arrive at 8am. But found out that our ticket had beed postponed to 10 am. We can get on the ferry is around 10: 10 am but ferry have a problem can not depart until 11am. Finally we arrive Samui port around 1pm.

- i didn't get any notice from Feery about the delayed.

2. Ferry is very old. You can see by eyes that ferry didn't get well maintained. It makes us very worry about the accident.

Worst ferry company I've ever used. The boats are in disrepair, the staff are extremely unprofessional, rude, and lazy, and their ticket offices onshore are very dirty and poorly maintained. There is no comparison to Seatran, Lompraya, or even the Haad Rin Queen. Avoid using Raja Ferry at all costs.

Everything above, sadly, remains true. Dirty boats, stairs half rusted through and ready to brake at any moment, black soot coats much of the open-air seating area, seats in air conditioned section were literally covered in dirt and ruined both my partner's and my pants. Ferry arrived 10 minutes after we were scheduled to depart, all cars and passengers loaded 20 minutes later, but for some reason we sat an additional 35 minutes for no apparent reason before departing, which ended up being 1 hour 5 minutes late (scheduled to depart 10: 00am, actual departure was 11: 05am).

The only reason we took this ferry was because the other company was fully booked. Otherwise, for the same price, only a fool would use this company vs.the other option.

Instead of waiting hours queueing at Seatran pier for koh samui, just continue to 600 m at your left. No wait, usually, same price, 580 thb for a car, and smiling people to boot. Unbelievable. Avoid Seatran with a car unless you have already bought your internet ticket.

The Raja port is where you can get a ferry to Koh Phangan.

It cost me 240 baht for a one-way ticket from Samui to Phangan, one passenger and a scooter.

The ferry ride is about 90 minutes

Arrives late (17: 15 instead of 16: 30) takes longer than planned (2h instead or 1.5h) and goes really slow

This time ferry 1 hour behind schedule.

Adding the 30min you are forced to come early, you can calculate the official journey time and add 1 1/2 hours on top.

Inefficiency at its best.

เดินทางกลับ 7/4/2023 เนื้องจากจองอีกยี่ห้อแต่เต็ม นำรถยนต์มาด้วย ราคาโดยสารเท่ากันกับอีกยี่ห้อ เกาะสมุย-ดอนสัก เรือเก่า ห้องโดยสารมีกลิ่นอับ ควรจองล่วงหน้าไปกลับของอีกยี่ห้อดีกว่ามาก พลาดจริงๆ เห็นถึงความต่าง และไม่ตรงเวลา เช่นขามานั่งอีกยี่ห้อ 10: 00 คืออกตรงเวลา ถึง 11: 30 ตรงเวลาเลยเป๊ะๆ แต่ราชาจอง 11: 00-12: 30 แต่ออกจริง 11: 30 คือไม่โอเคเลยนะ เข้าใจละทำไมอีกยี่ห้อถึงเต็ม

Boats are a rusty as an anchor but got us there safe and well.
Good value for money.
Would use again for sure

จองเรือรอบ 16.00 น. มาถึงท่าเรือ 15.40 น. แต่เจ้าหน้าที่ให้ไปรอบถัดไป 17.00 น. ทั้งๆที่เรือยังไม่เต็ม และยังไม่ถึงเวลาเรือออก? แต่กับให้ walk in ไปก่อนได้ ตั๋วจองที่เหมือนไม่จอง

จองเรือรอบ12.00 -13.30 ได้ขึ้นจริง13.00 ถึงฝั่ง15.00 กลายเป็นทุกอย่างที่วางแผน ผิดพลาดเสียหายไปหมด เที่ยวสมุยอย่างมีความสุข มาเจอเรือช้าแบบนี้ถึงกับเซงเลยจริงค่ะ

Raja Port was ok but ship old and no possible recharge mobili and no shop like Seatran but only vending machine

DON'T TAKE THE FERRY IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO!

ferry broke down (didn't have enough fuel/ail) 15min away from Samui so our ferry had to pull the broken one back to ko phanang.our 1.5h journy tunred in 6h.

No explanation, no apology, still paid full price.
