Pra Buddha Teepangkorn reviews
19 Must visit place. The highest point in island.
Take some dog food with you - here lives nice black puppy
Not really recommended for inexperienced scooter riders. Better to visit with a quat or guided.
A pleasant and exciting half-hour journey to the highest point of Koh Samui.
Fresh air, unforgettable views, minimum tourists.
There is clearly a lack of a ski lift, which would undoubtedly pay for itself at the expense of guests and residents of the island, operating all year round, unlike the seasons on the mountain slopes.
Tricky and bumpy road all the way up. Anyhow, on the top u get 360 degree views over the island.
Beautiful atmosphere of half-abandoned place, quiet and mysterious at sunset, but be careful on the road (sometimes there’s no road at all, lol)
Very unique space. Make sure to rent an ATV or dirt bike before trying to come up the mountain!
The experience was absolutely amazing. Me and my wife ride a motorbike Yamaha aerox 155cc to reach there. It’s not recommended to drive anyone who aren’t experienced driver. Rather hire a taxi or songthew to reach their. The road is pretty dangerous for new riders and 125cc bikes will face hard time to reach there. Throughout the route, it’s muddy, slippery and very narrow road on very top of the hill but also it’s not impossible to reach by bike. The view is breathtaking!
Well managed to get there with a 12 year old rental car by the safari route by accident but it was pretty hairy ride:) Taking a toure would be less stressful
Pra Buddha Dīpankara have a amazing view!
The road up is crazy if you drive a motorbike be careful! Have thai munks up there to so you can get some blessings. Also have a museum whit historik stuff very cool!
Samuis attraction number one! On top of the Koh Samui in the mountains above Lamai you will find the mighty statue of Phra Buddha Teepangkorn. The second big buddha on the island. To get to Teepangkorn Temple you have to take the challenging windling road to the top and you probably should think twice if you not an experienced driver! They also have a museum on the top with old artifacts. The view from here is amazing and there is nothing on the island that can top this, not even close!
The highest point in Samui! Great view all around, but the road up here is extremely bad (very steep and lots of potholes) and normal cars will not be able to climb it. Motorbikes may be able to reach, but a 4x4 is definitely recommended. With a suitable vehicle it will still take you around 30-40 minutes from the main road just due to the poorly maintained road. Do not attempt to get up here when it’s rainy if you’re not with someone who comes up here professionally as the road maybe flooded making it very slippery. I believe that Jungle 360 tour takes you here (or maybe a view point nearby I’m not sure) and that’s probably a better choice than trying to drive up here yourself.
Excellent views from here. The site is still a work in progress with a number of Buddhist statues there and a museum. Do go into the museum even if not interested in the artifacts as the can climb upto the roof for more great views.
I went by hired motorcycle, a road bike. You can do but have to be careful with the potholes and steep winding roads. Going down is actually more physically demanding as had to have both hands locked on the brakes all the way.
I will echo the comments made by another reviewer, watch out for the Safari Four Wheel drive trucks that cruise this route, but stand your ground and stay on the surfaces road, they can go onto the dirt.
Such a worthwhile go to. Views, fresh fruit (even if it’s touristy) and the temple. A lot of construction which isn’t picturesque but non the less worth going.
The best viewpoint where you should go on sunny days, cuz there can be the fog & you will see only silent hill
Worth while seeing for the views. But as already mentioned it a long steep and narrow road both up and down. Accessible from several points on Samui, From: Maenam Soi 5, Lipa Noi, turn at Chevrolet dealer, or Lamai Hau Thanon areas.
Road conditions can vary throughout the year.from being reasonably good to very rough. Dry sand on the roads can be very slippery.on motorbike. Ruts in the roads can vary too. Probably best to not do on your own!
Not for the novice rider on a scooter! If breaks on bike start to fail, stop for a few minutes and pressure should come back.pump the brake to check!
Use one of the Tour companies with 4 wheel drive trucks (Safari Trucks) might be a more enjoyable way to go. A day tour will include many things that you might not see. Be aware of these trucks if riding the hills, there can be 10 or 15 of them.give way and let them pass.during dry times the roads can be very dusty.
Good to take a jacket too, it can get quite cold at higher elevations!
The temple and view point is a place of worship, do take off your shoes as requested by signs.
There is a good restaurant very close by.for meals or drink.
Gotta admire the effort it must have taken to build these monuments, let alone getting the materials up there. You have to love 4x4 off-roading to do this trip, and have an experienced driver! Stunning views. Still building bits of it, but definitely worth the trip.
