Phatra Hostel

Great hostel for a night. Walking distance from the pier. Super clean and scooters on your doorstep. The food court around the corner. Only downside: a very hard mattress!

Very nice hostel with good price-performance ratio. The hostel operators are very friendly and helpful. The check-in went without any problems and we were even able to check in earlier than stated. The room was a bit empty, but sufficient. Unfortunately, the mattress on the bed was very, very hard, which was a bit uncomfortable, but still bearable. Scooters can be rented directly through the property. Supermarkets and a food court nearby and just a few minutes' walk away. Overall, however, I can definitely recommend the hostel as it is in a good location on a side street away from the noise

Location: Around 20 mins walk from Thong Sala Pier. One of the most simplistic hostels with basic facilities I have been to! We arrived some days before full moon party and were one of the only one in the hostels.

Service: The lady was super nice and honest.
Beds were super comfortable and kept neat.

It was an amazing stay for me! I intended to only stay one night in a private room. But soon discovered the atmosphere of everyone, especially Grace!
The next day I immediately extended my stay for 5 more nights in the dorms. I had one of the rooms downstairs.
It was perfect! The staff made you really feel at home. Its super close to the pier and 2 food courts are just around the corner. 7/11 and a Family Mart were close by as well!
I can really just stay wow and thank you so much for making my stay unforgettable!
When I left to go to take my boat back to Surat Thani. Grace came running from the hostel to meet me since she thought I forgot a jacket, which in the end wasn’t mine. But just their hospitality! Thank you and wow!

This is a well located hostel close to Thong Sala Pier. It's a 2-minute walk to the Food Court and a 10-minute walk to the Phantip Night Market and different bars.

Initially I wanted to stay here for 1 week and ended up staying for a total of 3 months because of how welcoming and friendly the staff was.
The photos here are no longer up to date. The hostel equipment is constantly being expanded, e.g. The beds in the dorms now have curtains for more privacy. You can rent Bikes and Cars directly from the hostel. Through Grace, you can even book Ferry and Bus tickets.

I stayed in a shared room as well as in a private room. The beds were very comfortable, and the nights were quiet.

Best hostel in town. Staff is amazing always helpful, they really care about customers and they will do everything possible to make to stay enjoyable. The room is big and clean. Close to every commodity, less than 10 minutes walk from the pier, very close to city center and food court markets. They also rent motorbikes. We spent 5 nights and it was perfect. Incredibly kind staff! They are hands down the best thing about this place. Location is wonderful, air conditioning works well, and the hostel is kept incredibly clean. Their rates are also super reasonable. I felt at home from the moment I walked through the doors.

This is a Hostel and not a hotel as such I am reviewing it with note of the 3 things that are important to me in a hostel:
1. Security: the hostel owner is always on site and actually sleeps on the floor of the reception desk, she knows everyone at the hostel I felt extremely secure and even left all my wallet and camera gear in the hostel.
2. Comfortable bed and quiet environment, had both of this at the night of the full moon, great sleep.
3. Shower and cleaning: hot water wall day and great water pressure, another great thing about this hostel.
Two downsides:
1. The managers of the hostel are extremely nice basically it's a young guy with 2 old people (maybe his parents?) They don't know English but I managed to communicate with them some how.
2. Ants do exist in this hostel is everything is ground level, saw them in the shower and one on my bed.
Overall paid 25 USD for one night during the full moon for a private double bed room, this place is located 5 minutes walk from the pier and 4 minutes walk from a great place to rent a scooter (turn left and then right when leaving the hostel) Great for people visiting Koh penghan for 1 night!

Very clean place with free coffee, wifi and snorkeling stuff. The staff is very friendly and it's cheap. I recommend this hostel!
