paprika restaurant & tourist information reviews
27 I recently visited Paprika on Koh Phangan, lured in by the promise of local Thai cuisine, only to be met with an utterly appalling dining experience. It’s disheartening to see a restaurant so grossly misrepresent the rich and vibrant flavors of Thai food. The Pad Thai, a dish celebrated for its harmonious balance of sweet, sour, and savory, was bizarrely seasoned with a sweet and sour sauce, reminiscent of a poorly executed Westernized adaptation, completely devoid of authenticity. This wasn’t just a misstep; it was a culinary catastrophe that seemed tailored to cater to non-Thai palates at the expense of genuine flavor.
But the disappointment didn’t stop at the food. The safety standards, or the lack thereof, were downright alarming. During our visit, we witnessed electrical wires being recklessly “repaired” in a manner that sent sparks flying across the restaurant. This not only demonstrates a blatant disregard for customer safety but also reflects poorly on the establishment’s overall management and operational standards.
To potential visitors, I implore you to seek your culinary adventures elsewhere on Koh Phangan. There are numerous establishments on the island that offer authentic Thai cuisine, where the flavors are cherished and safety is not compromised. Paprika, unfortunately, is not one of those places. Consider this a warning to steer clear, lest you wish to be bitterly disappointed and potentially put in harm’s way.
Really tasty food, a large and varied menu and a nice atmosphere. The food took about fifteen minutes to arrive and the price is fair
One of the best places we've eaten in Bangkok. Staff is very friendly and treats you like a king. Food itself is good and tasty. I recommend this restaurant.
I went there for dinner. Good selection of meals. They are cooked as well. Love the hummus and falafel here. The strawberry shake is good, though. The pizza is super delicious. The restaurant has a nice ambience. I highly recommend this place!
Falafel sandwich with lemon shake in this restaurant is worth trying. All of the staff here were very welcoming. I also noticed that the place was very clean. Ideal place to hang out.
Great restaurant. I had a rich and delicious variety of Israeli dishes. The place was clean as well. It's really worth taking a huge salad plate. Respectful service and a very welcoming atmosphere.
Nice food friendly service the hommus and pita was brilliant also great snitzel baguettes took kids they thoroughly enjoyed it be eating here again
The food and prices are really good! We had vegetarian thai Food and the servings were very big. Recommendation!
I enjoyed everything I tried at this restaurant. For the last two weeks, Lucky Crab and Paprika saved my trip with the best meals at all times of the day.
Waited 30 minutes for a strawberry shake and had to ask twice for it. Meanwhile my friend got his pizza. And then i had to ask twice again for my food. So all in all i waited an Hour while my friend got his things very fast. The taste was alright but the service was very slow and unfriendly
Very good israeli food. Falaffel sandwich is a must! Not really cheap. The price of the sandwich was 199 baht.
Service was really good. Even our special request for ginger in our lemon shake (defenitely a recommendation by the way) was fulfilled. Go there!
I have no Idea ehy they have this "tourist info" in their name:)
Decent hummus. The falafel had good flavor, but they could lower the temp of the oil and cook it longer. It wasn't completely cooked inside. The tahina could use a little more lemon and garlic.
Huge portions, chicken shwarma was not that hot, also had meatballs which are like small greek burgers, lovely hummus and salads,
This review is only about the service -
The workers here need to get a new education about how to work in a restaurant.
We waited 15 min untill a waiter arrived to get our order. They are not familiar with the menu enough to serve it. The waiters didn't understand what we wanted and we had to tell them few times about the dished. The waiters have a really low English, so if you work in a restaurant, you MUST have at least a basic English.
We have been in an Israeli restaurant in Koh Samui and its clearly that the stuff there got a proper education about how to work in a restaurant.
เป็นร้านอาหารรูปแบบของอิสราเอวที่หลายๆคนเคยพบเห็นบนหาดริ้น. แต่ตอนนี้ย้ายมาอยู่เขตศรีธนูแล้วครับผม
The best Israeli and Mediterranean food on the island! A huge variety of dishes, vegan, traditional, oriental and Thai.
Very clean and very good value for money.
I warmly recommend
We waited a long time. The table was dirty. The meals were not more than okay and it was too expensive for a restaurant in Thailand.
The food was good. We had a nice time there. Later that night we had stomachaches both of us, It seems it happens because of what we ate there.
Food was good. We had the hummus, with a sandwich falafel and a pad sew chicken. It was about 150 bath per dish. Delicious.
Great spot, great food (including Israeli/Middle Eastern items, though definitely not only that), good service, etc. Shout-out to James (?) who was just "around" all the time making sure everything was running smoothly. Would def go back.
