We stayed here with 2 young kids in September 2023 & it was magnificent! We knew we wanted to stay in Chaweng Noi for a quieter location, but the hotel exceeded our expectations. We got a poolside cottage, with an extra bed for our child & a cot for our toddler. It was perfect. The room was small but it was still plenty of space for us & had a lovely warm feel to it. On the one day that it rained, we were happy to stay in, play games & enjoy the balcony view of the fresh monsoon shower. Being right next to the pool & a few metres from the beach & the restaurant was idyllic. The pool was a great size & had a few areas that the kids could play in. The beach here is pristine, with a calm sea. However, the standout was the staff. Every one of them was wonderful. They welcomed our family & made an effort with our kids. From breakfast through to the evening, they were charming & always ready to help. I respect a business that treats its staff well, & the whole team seems to genuinely enjoy working at New Star, which makes me think it's a good hotel from the top down. We were long overdue a relaxing break & this was a superb holiday, in large part because of the hotel & the staff.

I m staying here for 5 days … and surely will not come back

This is the weirdest thing I ever heard, when I ask for towel (hair towel not a handkerchief… they forgot to put them in bathroom for 2 times and for second time they come to tell me that we have no hair towel left for you and they hand me these handkerchiefs. (first photo) like a they need time to wash it …. Hold sec this is 4 stars hotel? …
You can’t run out of towel and also most forget to fill thing used in room like shower gel …

Hotelpersonal sehr, sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Persönlich fand ich unser Zimmer auch sehr sauber und es wurden jeden Tag gesäubert. Essen auch sehr gut. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Nice clean place, on its own beach. You can enjoy the food there, or walk along the beach to try other places. Pex and Toom were lovely and so amicable, made our whole trip a success. Knowing where to
Go and helped us hire a driver for a day of exploration.

Checkin and checkout were very easy and all in all we’ve had a happy honeymoon in Samui. I give them my warmest recommendations, and I will probably be back; if my travels take me to Samui again.

I cant wait to come back to New Star! After Corona virus of course. See you then Tum and Yat and the Security, they are so cool! Alot of the other staff too but I dont remember their names sadley!

Ein sehr nettes Resort jedoch sollte man wissen, das die Anlage praktisch nur mit Stufen ausgestattet ist. Ausserdem sind unsere Zimmerbilder (sehr schön) allerdings von den beach Villas welche relativ teuer sind

Went to New Star Beach resort today, the beach was very very dirty, for a resort you would think that they would clean their beach area. The pool area was ok

Very nice hotel, in a nice garden area, very friendly and helpful staff. I stayed in one of the new renovated rooms, a lot of space in the room, great bath area, with lighting indoor shower and an outdoor shower. Room service, very good look at the picture. Nice beach!
Critics: no place for the luggage, had to put it on the floor, if you stay only one night, you don't want to unpack.
Beach should be cleaned up.

What an amazing resort. Very beautiful clean tidy and modern. Food is also very good and a good price. Great staff as well and a big thanks to Mike Eccles for a fantastic stay.

Sehr schöne Anlage direkt am Strand. Riesige Zimmer sauber, obwohl etwas in die Jahr gekommen, sehr angenehm. Personal ist superfreundlich und hilfsbereit.

Hotel, Amenities, Staff, Service, and Quality is amazing. May not have the best beach but you do not even mind. Loved it and highly recommend it.

We had a 9 days stay in New Star. The deluxe balcony room is big and enought for 3 adults, bathroom is stunning. The beach is very beautiful and clean, it took us 1,5 minute walk to reach it. I was delighted by the staff. I have never met such friendly, helpful, polite and funny people in any other hotel. Many thanks to Mr. Yat who is a man that can do everything, he would take care of you. I've already miss the people, they truly represent the Thai hospitality. I encourage everybody to try the message. It's available in the SPA or on the beach. The breakfast were fine. We had a half board option so except breakfast we had a dinner. The restaurant represents a very high level. The only disadvantage are the prices of food and drinks, too high.

Nice view. However no service and impolite staffs. I will never stay at this hotel again. My husband and I did not feel welcome in this hotel however I saw all staff only welcome western foreigners. So if you are not western foreigners, you really need to reconsider seriously when making yr decision to book this hotel.
Booked hotel car pickup but the staff held up the paper with wrong name on it. I had to seek help from other hotel's staff to find the driver from New Star. Most of the staff (including the manager (I guessed he was the manager) who just passed by us nearby beach and pool side bar did not greet with us) (only had about 3 staff were courtesy and greeted with us). We stayed in pool villa in the first 2 nights. However the airconditioner had noise in the mid night intermittently from 3am to 6am and We had been woken up. We complained but no one apologised to us. We called front desk and complained at 5am. The staff said we could change room as there s room available. She told us whenever we were ready, we just called front desk or went to front desk. However when I called around 10am, the staff received my call impolitely and did not have any record about our case. That showed there had management problem and bad internal communication. After we talked to front desk manager again, the problem was solved. So we could have better sleep for the last 2 nights. Tried Bbq seafood dinner buffet on the beach but the food was cold and really regretted to make such decision
