NAMHASIN HOUSE AND CAFE

Not great value for money (€20 per night for a basic room without AC.) but it is alright overall. Also, the check-in time finishes way too early (6pm). They have really strict rules about everything (no shoes in the building, no guests etc.) and request a 300THB deposit for the keys and only accept cash.

Owner very friendly, fun, and available.
The hostel is well located with a beautiful view of the mountains.
At the foot of the hostel you can have a good breakfast for less than 100 baths and the restaurant next door is also very good and not expensive.
The rooms and bathroom are clean.
Really a good deal on Koh Tao when you see the price of other hostels!

The staff/owners here are absolutely lovely! They are very kind and always happy to help.

The room itself was very good value for money, spacious, and clean. Cleaning and towel changes are available upon request.

I would say the location is good too, but having a scooter would be preferable.

Room was fantastic (bathroom smells good! Water pressure is great), parking on site, nearby activities (moped needed preferably), lockers available for valuables, staff are very friendly and helpful, would recommend:)

Stayed here just over a week ago for a couple of nights. The room had that musty smell it was really unpleasant. Think the room was over 2000 baht for two nights. Really overpriced in my opinion. Few creepy crawlies in the room also. Staff were very nice though just think this place isn’t worth the money you pay.

Had a pleasant stay however floor 3 room 7. I do not know if this was a thing for all the rooms and we didn't ask to move because we had unpacked but there is a constant on and off vibrating sound going through the walls. Sounds almost like a phone ringing vibration/vibrating alarm. I have no idea where it was coming from but it wasn't in the room. Possibly someones air con from one of the rooms above or below? But it was not a good sound at all.

- they provided two fans, 1 standing up small fan & ceiling fan. Good for me.not hot at all
- owner is friendly and can understand English well
- during the night it's very quiet

The owners were such lovely people, and exhibited such hospitality to us during our stay. Upon check-in, they provided us with tons of tips and recommendations for the island. Using their info, we were fortunate enough to spot baby reef sharks and huge turtles while snorkeling! They accommodated our last minute request to extend our stay, and always greeted us with smiles and friendliness. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved the location as it was very conviently located, and outside of the crowds and mass tourist area of sairee beach. Our location was perfect for exploring the surrounding beaches and viewpoints, close to restaurants and massage spots, and a great base for exploring the whole island. You can walk to the pier in about 20min. I'd recommend renting a moped to get around the island (but when deciding on a rental spot around the guesthouse please read reviews and do your due diligence ahead of time as there are lots of scams!).

Super friendly owners who gave us great recommendations for what to do and where to go on Koh Tao. The room was very affordable, clean and neat. Also the area is nice, its away from the busy loud sections, but close to the good beaches. Also close to lots of bike rental places. Overall would come here again if staying in Koh Tao.

Nice family that ran it. Their English is not the best had to communicate through someone on the phone. We enjoyed our stay here room was nice and clean, had a few issues with ants coming in from the balcony. Good value for money here

The bed is very big and nice. But the floor in my room wasn't very clean.

This place is lovely! First of all, the coffee and breakfast is very good. I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights in total, the room is clean, smells good, and has a very good price! Besides that the owner is very nice, helps you with any problem and will talk with you about anything, if you want to!

Lovely staff and a great location! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in our stay, and was very good value for money (recommend the fruit and yogurt bowl).

What lovely staff and delicious food! We ate the cucumber toast, big breakfast and bagel and avo and all was 10/10! But portions and the cinnamon roll was sooooo delicious!

We were welcomed with fresh homemade lemon ice tea and the manager (I think), a man named ‘Yu’ sat down with us with a map of Koh Tao and recommended places to see, eat and explore as well as how much things would cost and what to be careful of too eg with renting bikes etc. It was the best service we’d received in 25 days compared to the other four hotels in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Krabi. The fan room itself with a balcony was very hot so I would recommend an air con room for 100 baht (at time of our stay) extra per night. Clean room and bathroom, small balcony with two chairs and table but on the road side so don’t expect a lye in! The bed however was very hard and there were small ants in that room like with the other hotels we stayed in - I think it’s quite normal to get them - just don’t leave any empty food wrappers out, we kept ours in the fridge till we put them in the bin outside the room and walls needed a repaint - these are the only negatives. We changed to an air con room without a balcony which was on the other side so very quiet, more spacious, bigger and slightly more comfortable bed, fan also and mosquito nets on the windows which the other did not have on balcony sliding door. The food was amazing! Such a good variety and so tasty, we ate there every day for breakfast and once for lunch. Yu, Kop - a lovely lady who I believe was the owner and the two waitresses, Tinny and Lek were all so happy, helpful, informative and spoke good English which is rare in Thailand. For example they’d ask us how our sleep was and where we’d been that day. We would definitely stay here again and we really hope to go back again soon! Thank you all for making it our best stay in Thailand ️

Best Bagel with cream cheese and homemade chili sauce and avocado. The customer is the cutest little person if ever meet.

Delicious lemon tea was a nice gesture after a rough boat ride to the island. The staff are very friendly and the food here is amazing. The location is great for the price, walking distance to food, beach and lookout points. Accommodation is not bad but could be improved and be prepared for an early wake up call by the roosters in the neighbourhood (if you're a heavy sleeper you should be ok).
