Munchies Resort

The location is great and the hosts are very nice.
Unfortunately, our bungalow was pretty dirty, the sockets were so worn out that you could hardly charge anything and there was little storage space for luggage.

Actually we book 4 days, than made it 9 days. And we visit Cambodia now going back to Koh phangan. Stay in that hotel again. So friendly a family running small bungalow hotel. Definitely highly recommend

We travelled all over Thailand for 2 months and this was the most disappointing place we stayed. Paid 3 nights, stayed 1. The cabins are rustic and looked cute in pics, but ours smelled strongly of mould (could see it on the walls). The bathroom especially had no ventilation, smelled strongly of mould and was a big step down from the cabin.
I got a bunkbed for my kids, but the top bunk did not have a side bar, so it was a long fall if she rolled off, so despite my effort of having my own bed, my child had to sleep with me.
If you could sleep through the noise of the pump just outside, you were woken at 5am by the rooster and hens that did circles around the bungalow.
A stray dogs was constantly on our deck (which scared my daughters) and a few more were on the beach.
It was really far from restaurants and shops, so became a chore to take the kids out for food (there was none on the property at least at the time of year we stayed).
The owner seemed pleasant, but very removed. Didn't even ask why we were leaving.
The pool was nice, but not enough to make up for all the other things for us (plus the dogs were around the pool).
Maybe nice for a 'backpackers' experience, but about the same price as several other places just down the beach where we actually slept through the night, had a pool and didn't smell wet mould.

The huts were in a dilapidated state - holes were simply closed with adhesive tape. Very uncomfortable beds. Noisy, due to animals but also the lifting system (was right next to our house. Nice pool, right on the beach.

A perfect bungalow stay in a quiet area on a stunning shallow beach. The small pool with the sea view is spot on. Couldn’t have had it better. Bungalows are basic bungalows with fans, so it will get hot and moist but that is bungalow life. Toilet and shower ensuite. You will need a bike to get around, closest 7-11 around 1km away.

Changed to inferior management under exceptionally rude and aggressive French guy.
They happily added drinks to our bill that we didn't order, in the hope that we didn't notice. Seemed like a routine of theirs.
Beware of the dangerous German Shepard dog.

If you like the beach then this is a place for you. Simple bungalows, but a very nice beach. Also, John is a great host and the restaurant has delicious Thai and western food. Can’t get any closer to the beach.

Great place to chill and recharge. Watching the sunset on the beach hammocks with a beer in hand, listening to the birds and cooling off in the pool.that's life! The bungalows were basic but perfect for us, we didn't need anything more. Thank you!

Die Bungalows an sich sind eher einfach gehalten aber die Atmosphäre die durch den Betreiber John und seine Freundin aufkommt ist wirklich super. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!
Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr lecker und frisch.

I stayed here for 1 week in the female dormitory and didn’t enjoy it much. Our dorn was to small to accommodate to bunk beds. First 4 nights I slept upstairs and was touching the roof almost. Cleaning problems- it’s poor. Place always looks dirty. And most important - it was noisy! Parties/ loud music always till late in the restaurant (2 times was till 2am). If I don’t pay for the whole week straight- I will move out earlier. The owner seems not to care much about guests. They don’t to turn on AC during day time. Explaining that room is empty during the day.

Very expensive restaurant (coconut 100Thb.) and you need a scooter there 100%. I had mine.

The beach is not for swimming. But good for sunsets, running, kitesurfing.

The only amazing thing is that I met new friends there and was sleeping listening to the sea (dorm is right on the beach)

We felt like home. The owner is really cool and she will make your stay memorable.
Food and drinks are really good.
We should have stay there for 10 nights! This place is paradise!

The Great Small Resort nice Views of Ko Samui. Lovely friendly Smile Staff. Right on the Beach Side Small Swimming Pool.

Very friendly owners and easy going. Close to locals. Quiet but also close to town and shops. Everything is easily reachable by scooter. Good local Thai food in the attached bar.

Nice resort run by Canadian girl with a lot of passion. Beach and view are exceptional and food very good.

What a place! We had a most relaxing time and would recommend it to anyone who just wants to enjoy beach, nature and basically forget about the whole world:) our kids just run on the loose without us having to stress. Mind you, you are staying in the most basic hut on the beach which could do with a little work to be honest. But atmosphere, friendly staff and surroundings compensate for that. Ahh food is good too so no need to go anywhere:)

Magical place, bungalows on the beach with stunning view, delicious food and great atmosphere! Additionaly if you like sport and want to try kitesutfing, there is a school run by lovely guys. Defintely will back and highly reccomend this place!
