Our experience at the Mantra Samui was simply our favourite during our trip to Thailand! The hotel has gorgeous views all throughout and tranquil. The breakfast was great, and they offer free yoga and Pilates classes, fantastic way to start the morning. Moving around the city can be expensive on Grab, the hotel offers daily scooter rental which can be very economic.

Traumhaft!

This hotel was an all around awesome experience. First we got picked up at the pier when we arrived by ferry for 700 baht. After a 25 min drive we arrived at the hotel. There we got served some refreshments while checking in. We had to pay 500 Baht per day deposit.
The room was extremely spacious with an astonishing balcony. Still there was all the privacy that you'd expect. The room had a nice spacious shower and a separated toilet.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast ist truly awesome. They offer a lot of meals like omelette, chicken pesto toast, pancaces, fresh toast or waffles to order (included in the price of course). The dinner and in room dining was also fine. The view from the restaurant was beautiful.
The service in the hotel was also very good. There is an offer to rent scooters for 300 Baht per day. There is no deposit needed for this. They also offered transfer to the airport for 600 baht. The only small downside is that leaving the hotel without a scooter or driver is not really possible.

Fantastic hotel, with beautiful facilities and absolutely exceptional service. We stayed for a week, and although we have stayed in more beautiful, more upscale hotels, we have never had such incredibly personal service as we have had here. The pool is stunning, and the management is humble enough to offer cheap cocktails and beers poolside, just to get customers through the door during this difficult COVID period. All the staff members were fantastic. Mod, Sammy and Khun Meow all were brilliant, as were the housekeeping staff. Excellent strong cappuccinos in the morning too! Support this place, they deserve and need your support. Well done guys. If we lived on Samui we would be spending many afternoons here by the pool. Thanks everyone!

Hotel is picturesque, especially the pool
But so far out from everything, you are reliant on a scheduled shuttle which they charge you for! 100 baht per person, each way. This should definitely be a free service like many other hotels provide.
They do offer mopeds for rental at 300 baht a day but as the hotel is located on top of a very steep hill this may not be an option for some
Our room was at the top of another steep hill and needed to request a buggy to go anyway, pool, gym etc. Never really felt independent as always reliant on a member of staff.
Breakfast was limted and on ocassion not everything was available e.g bread and sausages. The bacon was always burnt to a crisp!
Gym was well equipped and the pool was phenomenal aside from that there are no other real positives.

The Mantra hotel was a great stay! The hotel facilities are top class. The pool has amazing views as does the restaurant. The gym is large and has wide variety of equipment for a hotel gym. The Spa is also top class with friendly staff. Breakfast was included it wasn’t amazing Not a lot of variety, but we still ate there every morning. Our room was so big and spacious and the bathroom and shower are great! The location is central but not walking distance to anything, the hotel Provides shuttle buses but they charge. The pool could have been alittle warmer, the wifi is inconsistent and the air con can could only stay on for 2 hours which meant we kept waking up overnight. Overall we loved our time at mantra and I would 100% recommend

Mantra Samui is truly a mesmerizing place to stay. All the amenities are top class and the view from our room was spectacular. Resort is perfect from every aspect. Would surely recommend it to every person out there. Just go and experience the stay once.

Surely the best hotel I have ever been in Koh Samui. I am a half thai/french and I used to travel to Thaïland since my childhood.

Staff was PERFECT, from the front desk, pool, bar. Special mention to the minicar man who was adorable!

We had a premium room while booking a classic one, Thank you so much for this attention. The room was just WAOW!

The hotel itself is amazing, a spectacular view from everywhere (room, pool, restaurant).

Fitness room is one of the best I have ever seen, the pool is breathtaken as well.

I will surely come back!

The hotel is located away from everything making you reliant on the hotel shuttle for which you are charged BHT100 per person each way. The staff were very welcoming and made the stay pleasurable.

The view is pretty amazing the staff are friendly and they were kind enough to give us a much better room than the one we already booked just because it was available! The only downsides I can tell is about the road from the main street to the hotel, it is steeply and bumpy and definitely cant go to the main street on foot you have to book a shuttle or obviously rent a bike or a car and about the food although the tastes and quality are great but for breakfast you dont have much choices.

Hotel and room are great, breakfast is nice too.

The reason why it’s a 3 star instead of a 5 was because of the massage at Jai Spa. I had high expectation as the prices are around double what you would pay outside of the resort, but it was utterly disappointing. I paid 1000 BHT for a 60 min back, shoulder and neck massage and only 1 min was spent on my neck. Pressure was all wrong too and painful. Didn’t get my sore point at all even after I demonstrated where to press ha.

I indicated my pressure level as strong but it was so soft and I had to ask the masseuse to apply stronger pressure numerous times. She didn’t put much oil as well and kept pinching my skin - I came out feeling more painful and dissatisfied prior to going in. Would suggest to improve on the massage service.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights. My feelings about Mantra hotel, it's rather complicated. I booked the room directly from the hotel in order to have two-way airport transfer free of charge. The first day when we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist told me the free transfer is only for one-way, not two-way. I felt I was scammed (on the last day they allowed me to book the transfer after checking with another reception on my confirmation email). When I entered the room the first night, I found two cockroaches in the bathroom and another insect on the floor. I understand it's an island but it shouldn't happen at a five star hotel. And sane night when I charged my phone next to the night stand, the outlet burnt out in the mid of the night. It was pretty scary. The breakfast was really soso, it's half-buffet half-order. You need to order a plate of egg, bacon, and ham from the menu. On the buffet side, there are some fruits, bread, cereals and hot dishes, but the choises are very very limited comparing to other five star hotels. The hotel is located on the half hill, pretty much in the mid of no where, which gives you a fantastic view from the half hill. The distance from the hotel to the closest shopping district (Fisherman's Village) is not walkable. They have shuttle buses for 100thb per person per way from or to the Chaweng or Fisherman's village. At the first time we wanted to book the shuttle buses from the Fisherman's village back to the hotel. So I called the hotel while shopping at Fisherman's Village to book the shuttle. When the bus arrived, I wanted to give the money to the driver, but he didn't take it. After we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist didn't ask for money either, so we went back to our room. Then a moment later, reception called and asked us why we didn't pay, so I said I had money in my hands but nobody was taking it. Then the reception asked me if I want to pay now or at checkout, I said at checkout. 5mins later, someone knocked our door super super loudly (it was past 9pm), a lady was asking for money for the shuttle. So I paid to her but they didn't give me proof of payment. And we were supposed to have free daily cocktail, but nobody informed us until I found it out myself from my confirmation email. Honestly, it's the worst five star hotel that I've ever stayed. There is always misunderstanding between us and the staff there. It's just my personal opinion. Their services are nice but I'm sure every five star hotels at Samui have great services. I just felt something is missing. If you want to have a nice view from the half hill, choose Mantra. Otherwise, there are many better five star hotels out there.
