Nice little hotel right on Lamai beach. It's not the highest standard but it's perfectly fine for 3 stars. After a 2 minute walk you are in trouble in the middle of Hat Lamai Road. Nevertheless, it is absolutely quiet in the hotel. Pool small but nice. Were

Magnificent hotel and site. The room was spacious and perfect for two, balconies well made for relaxing. Magnificent swimming pool with sea view. Very kind and smiling staff. Close to everything on foot anyway.

We had the best time at The Hive. The staff were so accommodating from the moment we arrived - we arrived very early in the morning and they got our room ready straight away so that we could check in early at no extra cost. When we had an issue with a tour we booked (outside of the hotel) they contacted the tour guides for us. The breakfast buffet was amazing - always fully stocked with such a huge selection of continental breakfast foods. The bedroom was lovely and clean, they provided daily room service. The pool was great and the private beach area was perfect. We couldn’t recommend this hotel more, we will definitely be back!

The Hive we stay at one bedroom villa was a neat place to stay. Room was getting old but very spacious lots of cabinets if you unpack your suit cases for longer stay. Toilet and shower basin was separate and really roomy. Quiet, outside porch, has light, fan, chairs and lounger. Infinity pool is great but has no natural shade. Its the only jellyfish netted area on the beach if u want to swim without concern in the sea. I would recommend this place to my family and friends if they want to stay in Lamai.

Very nice hotel. Rooms - set in a pleasant garden - are not as large as ‘bungalow’ style, but well done with wooden floors etc.

Very nice pool on the beach. Good breakfast (proper coffee and eggs to order, but no cold cuts and cheese.

Weird, portacabin reception in a dusty car park doesn’t exactly provide the best first impression.

Dangerous electrics!

The hotel and facilities are generally nice. Food and drinks are over priced compared to other places on the beach but perhaps to be expected in a resort.

We had some huge spiders in the bathroom, but again it’s Thailand this isn’t uncommon.

However the big issue was being woken up at 3: 45am to a massive bang/explosion and loss of all power to the room. There were no staff on site. We didn’t sleep after this concerned about an electrical fire as the power was flickering on and off, no aircon, etc.

We mentioned this to the staff the following morning who were very dismissive. “Yes transformer exploded but we fixed it by 6am”. As though the transformer exploding wasn’t a big deal! We also had water dripping through the bathroom ceiling near light fittings which I don’t imagine helped.

They were more interested in correcting my girlfriend who told them this happened at 3: 45 “no it was at 4am”. We knew this was wrong as we’d taken a photo of the empty reception at 4am exactly with the bang obviously being before, but it’s really beside the point. A dismissive sorry and no offer to compensate in any way however small

Hotel staff is very friendly, rooms are clean, comfortable and buffet breakfast was amazing.
It’s located right at the beachfront and has a nice pool area.

Lovely rooms, cleaned every day by wonderful staff. Amazing price, facilities well maintained. Breakfast was lovely, amazing beachfront location. Lamai is a bit seedy, but sticking to the beach still gives plenty of options.

I've traveled the globe and this was by far one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Lamai Beach is charming and tje location of the hotel to the beach and to town is perfect. Breakfast was vast, happy hour drinks were quality, and lunch/dinner options were great. Open air restaurant overlooks the sea and service is impeccable. The incredible, hard working staff is what gives The Hive a five star vibe. They were always greeting with a smile and going the extra mile with genuine care. This is the number 1 spot on Lamai for price and quality. Stayed for two weeks and can't wait to return. Thanks for everything.

Amazing hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is delicious (you can chose what kind of eggs do you want and they make it fresh and delicious every day). The swimming pool is very nice. It's big enough that you can swim and chill on hot day. We stayed here at Christmas and got lovely surprise. It was very pleasant stay at this hotel.

Nice beach, but quite crowded, srimp omelette rice good, tuna salad soso, smoothies with ice, we ordered no ice

Room and hotel area in general is very beautiful. Three stars because the receptionists were a little rude when we asked them for help.

This is an excellent hotel resort, room is clean and services everyday, coffee, tea, water …. Top up. Breakfast is very good, both Thai and western always plenty for guest, restaurants dinner is excellent quality food serve both Thai food and western, good chef and staff. I love the beach right in front don’t have to walk, good swimming private beach, walking distance to many restaurants, shop around, highly recommended for family vacation. Staff are polite and friendly. We had a great time here and really enjoy ours stay from 11/08 - 15/8/ 22

A real horrible experience here.electricity was out, very rude owners and their son.renting the scooter from those place was a nightmare, charged me once and my wife once, and all for 1 days worth of rent.my wife didn't know about it because she didn't know I paid already when I first took the scooter.ask for a refund and they said they never had the record of paying when it was checked our and that piece of work, the owner's son show an extremely rude attitude toward refund and never admit their staff mistakes.horrible experience! I will not even look the direction of this place to save my life.

Best 1st time experience. Everything about it was ace. Rode in from Malaysia and the check in was super smooth. Food was excellent not too mention it is situated between a beach and a very happening street.

Room is reasonable and has Netflix. Pool is also smashing. Carpark included though spaces are limited! Very good stay with good service!

We enjoyed our stay here a lot. The hotel is rather modern. The highlight is the infinity pool at the beach. You can use the pool sun chairs also to take a swim in the sea. The pool is clean, refreshing, children friendly, but misses shade. The only real downside was the rather small room. Breakfast was good because it offered quite a variety and had an espresso machine. We can recommend to stay here!

Great resort. Room was very clean, great shower and comfortable bed. The pool is fantastic and it's on the beach so you have the best of both worlds. Staff in this resort are very friendly and helpful and the location is great. Definitely worth staying here.

Two week stay here and very enjoyable. Proximity to the beach is a key advantage and lovely to eat breakfast whilst the sun rises over the sea. The breakfast is buffet style: fruits, cereals and cooked options. The coffee is some of the best I've had at a hotel.
Several things to bear in mind, book a room within the interior of the resort if you are sensitive to noise. Not too many rooms border the road, but I moved after a couple of nights. The setting of the resort, within a tropical garden, sound lovely and indeed it is, but bear in mind that this can make the surroundings more humid and also attracts mosquitoes so I didn't sit out on the patio much.
