In short, I highly recommend visiting Khao Sok park and its lake.

We enjoyed the whole experience very much. The Riverside Cottages was amazing! The rooms, the garden, the staff, everything was perfect. We had a great time during the kayaking. The boys showed us a lot of animals that otherwise we would have missed, they made us amazing bamboo cups for coffee, and were very polite and nice. We loved our trip to the floating bungalows. The rooms exceeded our expectations! We did kayaking, we swam, we went to a jungle hike, and mist safari, and all of them was amazing! Our guide was wonderful! He was fun, he showed us and shared with us a ton of interesting things. We thank the whole team and we appreciate their efforts to give us this amazing experience and to support the community and the nature!

The Riverside Cottages are a nice place to stay, the rooms are beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food in the restaurant is okay. HOWEVER the tour was very underwhelming. It is quite expensive for what it is. The floating bungalows are very run down, smelly and just not nice to look at, it’s not the ones you see on the picture on their Website. The group was very big (more like 30 than 10-18 as promised) and they only had 3 Kayaks so doing that activity was not possible for most. The „Safari“ was just driving around in the very noisy motorboat, so naturally we didn’t see anything. Also, the tour is not suitable for vegans. Even though they promised to accomodate for us, everything contained egg so the first two meals we got plain rice, breakfast was one banana and for lunch we had nothing. All in all I would recommend just visiting the Nationalpark without a tour so you can spend the money on nicer bungalows instead.

I absolutely recommend this special place for those who love nature and peace! We had booked the grand jungle tour, which was relatively expensive, but we thought it was more than worth it. The activities are well organized and the staff is very flexible based on your needs. It is further into the jungle than most hotels located in the center, which makes it very peaceful and you really feel like you are among the animals. As a result, some animals (e.g. Lizards) unexpectedly entered the room, but fortunately each bed is equipped with a mosquito net.

The property is amazing to stay at — delicious fresh food, courteous staff, beautiful forest environment and lovely rustic rooms. A great option for anyone looking for a real forest stay.

What I did not enjoy however was the one day tour we took with them. It was super badly organised, chaotic, and did not live up to the promises they make in their hand book. We were put in a group of 17 people with one guide, and had to eat some of the worst food ever in the name of “free lunch”. We were told there may be up to 12 people, so it was quite misleading. Cheow lan lake is beautiful, but the standard tours ruin the experience — group size is super important here coz you’re on the boat just sitting for 2 hours.

Beautiful place with very helpful and kind stuf. We stayed there for one night and thanks to the hotel we managed to get at the reception 2 great trips and they even organized a transfer to one of the islands. Loved it!

Beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by nature.

Negative points:
Food is good quality but a little bit expensive.
Staff doesn't communicate well in english, they have trouble understanding simple things, so it ends up being complicating and a bit frustrating.
Beware if you book with the "Overnight Lake trip" with them that:
-you don't go with 8-10 people as advertised on the website, you go with a boat with 20 people and in most activies with another boat, so 40 people.
-the guide we had did not really care for us and explain us much.
-in the package you have some meals in the resort included but beware you have meal vouchers, so you only can spend a certain amount of money, otherwise you have to pay the difference.

In general we felt a little disappointed by the resort, specially because we booked the tour package with them, because of the info posted in their website, and it ended up not being true, so you feel lied to as a client. Also having staff with a better english level would ease lots of things.

I booked a photography focused, 2 night package at these cottages, and unfortunately some of it left a lot to be desired.

Let's start with the photography, as that aspect is quite misleading. While this was advertised as a wildlife and nature photography package, the provided trips and activities were exactly the same that any tourist visiting the area would book, with no special photography arrangements. As I was the only photographer there, these trips were actually shared with the regular guests.

This meant very busy, touristy areas, no consideration for good light, no wildlife hides or off the beaten path locations. Some of the activities would have actually destroyed my camera gear had I not skipped or taken other precautions, with no warning of this beforehand.

The big trip to the reservoir in particular was very bad at following the description provided even the day before and had people climbing up a flooded river, through a waterfall.

The standout was a stroll through the jungle at night. No one else signed up, so the guide had a chance to make it work a bit better for taking photos and was really good at spotting wildlife in the dark.

The food at the cottages was excellent, good service and reasonably priced, though very slow to prepare, so leave plenty of time before an activity begins. The included dinner is more of a meal voucher, it can't usually cover the entire bill.

The location is amazing, set inside a managed forest, with lots of wildlife to hear or spot, especially at night.

The rooms had a lot of character, but also some problems. You get a lot of bugs inside. We had a cockroach, a lizard and a giant worm other than the usual flies and mosquitoes. While some of this is expected, the discomfort could be greatly reduced by proper cleaning (everything was filthy and damp, covered in dust), finer nets, fitted more thoroughly to block anything coming in and just a better, cleaner interior design with less places for bugs to hide and less holes to crawl through.

Staying here could be worth it even so, especially if you're used to somewhat rougher conditions. It's certainly an experience. But organise your own activities.

I Was there in december 2021. Great place to stay in Khao sok. Basic and Nice room with a river view.that all you need in the jungle. Full service for attractions in the area. Great restaurant to eat breakfast and dinner. Transportation to the near town without charge. Thanks to bhodi and all his team, it was pleasure to stay with you

Very good value for money in a lovely jungle/riverside setting. The food in the restaurant is excellent so no need to travel into the Khao Sok village to eat. The rooms are rustic and you may get a few creepy crawlies inside, but there are mosquito nets and the beds are comfortable. Loved falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle at night.

Upside:
99% feel it feels as if sleeping in a jungle.
Lot of activities on offer.
Restaurent food is just okay.
Staff is friendly.
Offers pickup and drop as well.

Downside:
Be open to spend some extra cash as it is a bit over priced for everything.
Can't use cards for transactions.

Beautiful cottages with great service and very cosy cottages. Food is also very good and the location is incredible (in the jungle)

Tolle Unterkunft mit vielen Aktiviäten und sehr freundlichen Personal. Man ist mitten im Jungle und kann total entspannen. Bequemes Bett, leckeres Essen (Frühstück leider nicht im Preis enthalten)

Great place! Clean, cozy, right by the river away from the other resorts. Good food, friendly staff.

Fantastic. Great food at reasonable prices, staff very friendly and a good level of English. We were able to bathe elephants at a nearby Sanctury, spent a day at a lake and hiking nearby and went on a night tour to see some local wildlife! Staff were also able to arrange transport from the airport and on to Phuket.

Very nice place, stylish cottages, delicious food, large food portions (compared to what local markets offer). Very helpful service - reception.price matching level of service. You fell like in the jungle, many plants and flower, elevated walkways

A lovely place to stay. My friends and I booked the Grand Jungle Tour and were super happy with it. Very friendly staff, clean rooms with working bathrooms. Very tasty food inside the restaurant. Definitely recommended!

We spent three nights and requested a 3d2n package in advance. The package was not the cheapest compared to others in the region but the service was by far the best we received during our roundtrip in Thailand. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the trips were great and the staff is kind, helpful and has a great sense of humor!
