High Life Bungalow

This hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone travelling to Koh Phangan, from the brilliant Hospitality to overall features, it is a great place to stay. Below everything is detailed more.

Room: First impressions of this room were how immaculate it is and the views! Each bungalow is set apart by steps, it feels as if you are staying in your own little jungle paradise.
If you are unable to comfortably walk multiple steps, then this is not the place for you! But if you can climb stairs easily, the steps here will not be an issue. The steps and paths around rhis hotel mean Each night you will be separated from other guests, unlike other hotels, you will not be impacted by the noise of others staying around you. Our room was located close to the bar and we never heard the music or other dining guests.
As mentioned, the room was immaculate. With a large double bed, which on request the bed linens get changed when needed. A clean mini fridge, kettle and cups. Large clean bathroom. The balcony has chairs, a table and hammock. On occasional rainy days this was paradise to sit out on and listen to the rain fall onto the surrounding trees.

Food/drinks: Both food and drinks in the bar were exceptionally cheap and the best food we had on our stay in Thailand. From breakfast dishes to dinner, everything ordered was absolutely delicious!

Pool & Sun loungers: The pool and sunloungers offered more peace and tranquility. The pool being an infinity pool overlooked both beach and sea below. Always at a nice temperature and everything very very clean. The bar staff serve food and drinks both poolside and in restauraunt areas.

Location: This is in prime location for all the island. It is easily accessible by bike and taxi. There is a 7/11 shop in both directions either side of the hotel, maximum 5 minutes away. There is a walkway down to the beach from the hotel and Secret beach is about two minute walk away. Lots of areas to eat and explore in the locality.

Hospitality: The staff here made our whole trip to Thailand even better. I have never experienced such good hospitality in any other hotel/country I have stayed in. Every single member of staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. They have set the standard to a new high for what to expect elsewhere!

Bike rentals: The bike rental service provided by the hotel is also brilliant. Is is set up by a very kind man, who is also super welcoming and friendly.

Accessibility: This hotel as mentioned above is super accessible from all areas of the island. We landed into Koh Samui Airport, got a ferry to the island. In Koh Samui I simply rang the hotel and asked for a taxi and was met by a taxi driver off the ferry port, it was 200tbh per person to get the 30min taxi in through the island.
Upon leaving, the hotel has organised for the taxi to the ferry port, the ferry and our pickup from the ferry port in Koh Samui to thr airport, it has taken all possible stress of moving out of the hotel away.
As mentioned above, getting to and from the full moon party was very easy.

Overall, this hotel offered everything. I cannot say a bad word about it and I question why it is only has 2 stars!

Fantastic, the service, the accommodation, everything was perfect. Very affordable aswell. Right next to the beach aswell.

This place is amazing and cannot believe it's only 2 star, amazing views from the main pool and our room, pool is lovely and comfy sofas and loungers. The food here is great, and the cocktails are good too. The staff cannot do enough for you, so friendly and attentive. The room is a little basic but comfy bed and all functional.

Great place for a few days of vacation. The staff was very helpful and the food at the restaurant very good.
Be aware that you need to go a lot up and down. I would not recommend the place for elderly people. Or at least choose your room wisely.
The resort has a direct access to a lovely and quite beach

Beautiful location. Feels like a little village. 1min walk down to haad yao beach. Nice pool & bar with western and thai food. But the bungalow we got was a little datet. And the airconditioning was not powerful enough to properly cool the bungalow. Bike rental service was good. And staff was good. We had the bungalow with sea view.

Overall we enjoyed our time here although there were a couple of kinks.

When taking a taxi, it really felt like they were trying to take advantage of us. They charge per person on this island and we ended up having to pay 1600 baht (almost $50) to get dropped off at the pier. That is more than we have to pay in the US. This was a very disappointing ending to our overall good time at High Life.

The pool here is amazing, great sunset views, pretty good food, and room was okay (very poor shower pressure, hard beds, and a little loud). I probably wouldn’t stay here again but I did enjoy my 3 nights here.

Die Unterkunft war wahnsinnig schön. Der Tag fing perfekt an mit dem leckeren Frühstück auf der Terrasse von der Bar mit Blick auf den Haad Yao Beach. Ein Highlight ist der Aussichtspunkt zu dem Strand und der direkte Zugang zu diesem über eine Treppe. Das Personal war super freundlich und wir haben ein tolles Upgrade bekommen und hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick! Kop kun ka!

We visited to eat only. Place had a nice vibe and pool which can be used when you eat. No shades in the pool, unfortunately.

Food was very tasty but too small portions for a too high price.

We stayed for about a week in High life. The staff is so sweet, fun & attentive. The food is super fresh, great cocktails and the bungalows we stayed in were very nice and private. The second one we got even had a outdoor bath, and it was possible to take a shower outside by just hanging up a sarong for privacy.

They also rent out scooters (pre-book thos, it was all rented out) & have gasoline.

I really liked the location a bit up on the mountain, it was a great view and I fealt safe up there.

The only downside is ofcourse that it was a bit hilly and lots of stairs. It was good for us, but if u have any issues with walking or need accessible logdgings, this would not work.

The receptionist gave us a cold "hello" and a smile was certainly not possible. The room was ok but to open the bathroom door you had to have some muscles. I can imagine that older people or disabled people can't get this door open. There is a kettle in the room but no instant coffee, tea or sugar. When we asked about it, we were told that we had to buy it in their restaurant. There is no daily cleaning of the room. You have to throw your used toilet paper in a bin (common in Thailand) but can you imagine the situation when they don't empty the bins daily? One morning I woke up with a lot of itching all over my body and a red bump (see photo). Bed bugs! The next day as it was pouring I tried to sleep a little because I had a terrible night but no way! They descided without prior notice to saw, hammer and grind metal on our bungalow.what a noice!
At the time of the check ou (11AM) it was pouring and our ferry was at 1PM. When asked if we could stay a little longer in the room the answer was: Until 12 AM and if you stay until 1PM you have to pay 50% of an extra night. We were speechless! So we left for the ferry with a very bad feeling about our stay in Highlife Bungalow. During the booking for this stay in November 22, I had also already booked for January 23.luckily I have free cancellation because do I have to tell you what I'm going to do with this booking?

Didn't stay here but they let us enjoy. Thank you. Some awesome beer selections and a great elevated view of watching the sun come down.

Very unfriendly cancelation policy. Due to urgent personal reason, I had to cancel or rebook my reservation after less then 24 hours since I have made it. I was charged 100% without even a chance to rebook for any other night.

The hotel sits on the southern part of Haad Yao, presenting a spectacular view over the beach. The breakfast although not included was some of the best I’ve had in Thailand. Unfortunately we arrived 2 days later than scheduled and couldn’t get the money back. However, the receptionist was very helpful and made sure to help us organizing the transfers for our next destination. I highly recommend but don’t count with free cancellation.

Cool spot. AC coworking is groovy, and ocean views make it tops. Can’t seem to get an order right tho so be very very clear and confirm your order yourself (they should do this). Revised to 3 stars for the facility (see attached pictures)

This place is amazing! We stayed in a Bungalow with pool and sea view. Amazing and super helpful and friendly staff. Very neat and tidy. Food is super delicious and there is a big coffee variety as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

Came with the wrong expectations. Booked a room with sea view like on the picture of Agoda but got this instead. No compensation from their side.

An excellent spot perched above Haad Yao.
Super attentive and friendly service at the restaurant and pool.you won't go thirsty! Not to mention the gorgeous view of the beach and sea below.
Even the basic garden view bungalow was clean and comfortable.

Amazing place to stay. Friendly staff, great restaurant with stunning view and bungalows are very cute and clean. I stayed at the wooden one which gave me a very holiday feeling. I recommend hiring a scooter from the pier and scooter around on this amazing island.
