Hanalei Gardens reviews
7Lovely place, peaceful, spacious and very good value self catering bungalows set in beautiful gardens. Across a track from a beautiful beach, a nice beach club next door and shops, restaurants within walking distance. Laid back friendly management and staff.
Fully equiped kitchen, lots of space to cook on 2 gas hob available along with cookinug untensil.cabinate fridge.cupboard. 2 slice toast
Patio, balcony. Long-term term term rental policy possible.
Would not stay here again, had mixed feelings.
Pro:
- big room (but very outdated)
- situated in a lovely garden
- close to the beach
- you can rent a scooter (150 baht)
- fairly cheap stay
Con:
- bad wifi, often slow or didn't work
- dirty kitchen appliances (see photo)
- no proper curtains, we felt we had no privacy in the bungalow.
- staff didn't say a lot, bad English / we didn't feel welcome.
- very hot in the bungalow, even with all the fans on.
- when "reception / office" is open, there is nobody most of the time. You have to call a phonenumber (what if you don't have a Thai sim?) Or search for staff at the property.
We had a wonderful stay. The beach is very private and beautiful! Also a very friendly team and the bungalow was big and cozy. We felt like home:)
Not the best, not the worst…
Great environment (peaceful quiet beach), but too far from everything… Spacious bungalow, but really really dirty: every item in the kitchen was dirty (plates, pan, glasses, kitchen spoons…). The rattan furniture was greasy, as well as the doors handles.
Prices were correct but still not the cheapest and definitely too high for the very low quality of the overall accommodations. A bit disappointed but at least the staff members were nice and the sunset were too…
It has been 12 years since our last visit & we remain as impressed now as then. Master Architect Mr. RJ Marvick designed & built this fine assortment of chalets & at the tender age of 92 still remains on site. The workmanship & structural design are terrific. Rooms are very spacious with an assortment of Seaview & Garden View to suit your pleasure, each with a large, equipped kitchen, deck & sitting area. A few steps from your room on the way to swim in the ocean is a wonderful stretch of soft sand beach. Truly a great spot.
