HAAD RIN PIER (HAAD RIN QUEEN FERRY)

Nothing bad to say about the actual ferry service provided.
Be aware of the taxi mafia that is waiting for you on arrival. Our drive was expected to take 8 minutes for which we were charged 150 bat per person, our driver wasted 20 minutes of our time making sure to fill each and every of his 9 seats vehicle. While driving he tossed me his phone midroad asking to input map directions to the place which I did. He passed our turn like its nothing.had to shout multiple times for him to stop the car which he unwillingly did after finishing the downhill part of the road. He completely refused to turn around and just dropped us on the road, we had to walk back another 15 minutes into the sharp road uphill with heavy bags. I wish nobody sponsors these clowns anymore

Fast dispatch, everything went smoothly. Fairly well-maintained harbor. Unfortunately, the toilet on the ferry itself is terrible; you should really only use it in an emergency.

After full party there are only a few ferries available and the last one leaves at 4.30 pm and charge 200baht

(August 2023) The timetable & price is on the photos. This is the cheapest way to get to Samui from Phangan island (or vice versa) : 200 baht, while the other pier in Thong Sala serves the Lomprayah ferry for 350 baht.
The ferry from Thong Sala pier goes to e.g. Koh Tao, Koh Samui (to its west side piers like Mae Nam and Nathon) and other places.
The Haad Rin pier is on the other side of Phangan island, and if you leave from Haad Rin you arrive to Big Buddha pier in Samui, so might be handy if you need to get to the eastern side of Samui directly.

The taxi from Haad Rin (pier= Sunset beach, or the Sunrise beach side) can cost from 150 to 200 baht per person (negotiate, as they would offer for more, too). In Koh Phangan, unlike other neighboring islands, taxis always charge per person (they are open vans, while the driver is in the cabin). There is a taxi company per each coast, so Haad Rin taxis can only carry you on the eastern coast, AND to Thong Sala. If you go to the western coast, take another taxi in Thong Sala.

Jetty for the Koh Samui speedboat. Be careful not to take the first taxi when you arrive, try to do it together and it will be cheaper.

The place has been renovated, the bridge is made of concrete and is not as dilapidated as before

Haad Rin Pier is an important transport hub for Koh Samui. Conveniently connected to beautiful beaches and easily accessible for tourists. Restaurants and shops surround the pier and are well-equipped to make your arrival and departure on the island as comfortable as possible. However, it can get crowded during peak hours, so we recommend visiting with plenty of time ＼ (^o^) ／

Good place to buy a speedboat or ferry ticket to Koh Samui. Sketchy people though, and some boat captains are more than unwelcoming

Very hectic, but nice pier. Make sure you arrive extra early if you're heading to ko phangan during a full moon party as it gets very packed

กัปตันมืออาชีพ ครั้งนึงเมื่อหลายปีก่อน เคยนั่งจากสมุยเที่ยวสุดท้าย มาพงัน พอนั่งมาสัก15-20นาที เริ่มเจอลมฝนเบา เมื่อเข้าร่องน้ำสมุยพงัน จากคลื่นสักเมตรนวลๆริมชายฝั่งยังพอทนไหว แต่สักพักอยู่ๆคลื่นโต3เมตรได้ ทุกคนในเรือเริ่มส่งเสียง เพราะเรือแล่นแบบหัวเชิดขึ้น-ทิ่มลง ราวกับในหนังโจรสลัด ทันใดนั้นเองเรือดับเฉย เรือเริ่มปัดขวางกระแสคลื่น ตื่นเต้นกว่าเดิมอีกทีนี้ แต่ไม่เกิน2-3นาที สตาร์ทกลับมาได้ สักพักแล่นผ่าคลื่นมากับอีก แต่รอบนี้ผ่านร่องน้ำเชี่ยวมาแล้ว ฝนก็เริ่มเบาลง เมียผมเกาะแน่นถึงกับอ๊วกแตก คนอื่นๆก็มีออกอาการเมาเรือบ้าง แต่ทุกชีวิตก็กลับบ้านอย่างปลอดภัยครับ

We bought a two way ticket, on the ticket there was a timetable with all the departures for the day. We decided to go on the last one which was 5: 30 but when we arrived they said they changed the times to 16: 00 and its our problem, the lady at the register just walked on us instead of resolving the problem. We recommend to NOT use this service, they do not care for the customer.

Convenient pier to transfer to Koh Samui island from Koh Phangan's Haad Rin (the party spot). The boat fee was 200 Thailand Baht (1 way). It makes attending the Fullmoon Party possible even when lodging in Koh Samui. The time table is respected and boarding takes place in good order. The Captain was soo nice that he allowed us to sit on the boat's bow.

Pier very close to the Haad Rin town, was a quick 3 min walk from hostel. If you have booked hostel in Haad Rin, make sure to take your ferry here.
