Chillax Khaosok Hostel

Mocky the owner amazing person very very very amazing cool service,
the room is clean comfy. Quite!
And the trips the offer magnificent!

Located approximately 5 minutes walk to the main area in khao sok rooms were spacious and bedding was clean. Showers are located in the toilet cubicles. However, they are not so spacious. The hostel has a pool table which is in good condition. And only cost 20 baht per game. They offer khao sok lake tours aswell as transfer to all different parts of Thailand. Staff were very friendly and even taught us how to make the offerings for loy krathong festival. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Don’t rent a scooter here, they deliver a scooter with brakes who are not working. Both of our belts get broken on our way, it cost us more than one and a half hour, we repair it, paid it by ourself, and afterwords she don’t want to pay us. What a great service! Very very bad company, also the owner is not a fair person! It is a scam

Very disappointed to have paid for the lake excursion with them. They showed us the room and the view of a bangalow which was worth 1000 bath more than the one we had (without telling us of course). So they lied to us.
We found ourselves in the bangalow without a view, without shutters, with holes for insects to pass through. The caiboti for the passage between the bangalow is of very poor quality with holes and rot. The excursions are not interesting, they show us the same landscape twice and the guide doesn't explain anything.
Lots of down time between boat trips with supposedly time to go canoeing but there isn't enough canoeing for everyone. I am very disappointed to have visited the lake with them. I feel like I missed a lot of beautiful landscapes. I advise against +

The front staff was so lovely to deal with! The location is great, rooms were clean and good for the price. The front foyer/lounge was set up nicely to meet others and have some drinks or play pool! Beds are a little hard and is definitely a younger crowd but overall would recommend!

Room: We had a private room for two. (+) rooms are huge, bathroom and bedroom. (-) balcony unusable, reconstruction is in progress, both the noise and the view are bad. (-) bed is smaller and mainly hard. It was just enough for two nights. Cleanliness upon entering the room is absolutely fine. There was no cleaning service, which is probably normal for a hostel.

Service: Always nice, smiling. If you don't have trips, they will offer you separate trips for a standard price. They also have a good time with pictures in the rooms, so you don't have to worry like we did and search on the Internet in advance.

Location: The hostel is on the street where a beautiful walk begins between bars and restaurants lit up at night. We recommend going through and having something good and enjoying the local atmosphere.

I dont know where to begin with. I stayed at Chillax during my visit to Khaosok and that was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Mooky the receptionist and owner of the place is absolutely amazing. She welcomes you with a big smile and helps you arrange your visit, from tours to transfers and the best food recommendations. She is always willing to help and makes sure you leave that place dying to come back.

Regarding the establishment, it is perfect. Good location, cleand and huge rooms, free coffee and fresh water (something odd in Asia) and delicious breakfast. Perfect option for backpackers, couples and even families with kids.

Chillax is a wonderful place and makes you want to visit Khaosok again just to enjoy this fantasric hostel. Its neighbour (Boom Hostel) is her brother’s and is also a fantastic place.

Clean dormitory rooms and amazing host! I didn’t taste the breakfast but it smelled delicious

She really made sure to answer all my khao sok question, and at the end of the day, I went with her tour package!

I have never had such a wonderful experience! Nor have a met a nicer receptionist than I did in this hostel!
It’s clean, comfy, great location but the staff are amazing they saved me as I had a complication with the previous hostel late at night. They worried for me and seriously helped me. I couldnt recommend a better place in khoa sok! Only stay here! Best place!

We didn't stay here but booked our Khao Sok tour through Muki who was incredibly helpful and kind. She isn't pushy with selling tours and really tried to understand what our budget and needs were and make suggestions accordingly.
She went out of her way to drop us off at our accommodation after the tour for no extra cost, and we found ourselves going back to her to ask her for more travel advice as my friends and I had an open itinerary and were confused about transport. Muki helped us with our itinerary, suggested some good locations for us to go based on our individual travel plans, and even helped us find the cheapest prices to get to our next destination. She is a friendly and genuine person and I'm sure Chillax hostel is doing great because of her hard work and willingness to help out! Thanks for everything Muki:)

We did not stay at this hostel BUT we met Mooky who is the kindest sweetest most helpful person ever. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helped us book tours/ minivans/ rent a scooter. Would highly recommend staying at this place so you can meet Mooky

The lady who runs the hostel said she runs all the busses. That is until her friend Tom! Steal your bag and all your belongings, then she doesn’t know anything about the busses.
I had Toms Whatapp which had a picture of a heavily overweight man who you could easily identity! She then asks for a better picture and I said check the WhatsApp number I have her. She then mentioned him by name and said she knows nothing about where the busses go!
She comes across as a nice lady and for the most part is but that all changes when her good friend Tom steals from you.
She tried to make excuses for him.

I had some Thai friends call him and he kept saying he would give the bag back but never did. I waited in Bangkok for a week waiting for him to put the bag on another bus but never did.

Our host was absolutely brilliant- organised our transfer to Tonsai and booked us onto a 2 day lake tour (this is a must-do if you are going to make the journey to Khao Sok). The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

This was an excellent hostel! I stayed here for 1 night with two friends and we all loved the experience. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were great! The manager went absolutely above and beyond for us helping to organise transfers and plan our stay. Highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived, Mooky was kind, welcoming and smiley. She helped us to get settled in and made some recommendations for things to do on our first day. Mooky also helped us to plan a trip which was an experience of a lifetime staying on cheow lan lake and experiencing the national forest. She had lots of activities on offer and we heard from others that those activities were great too with guides who were really passionate about the wildlife. The beds were comfortable with lovely showers that were really clean and up to a good standard. This is a must stay location. The lady who owns the hostel (family run and owned) was the nicest and best English speaking person I met on a 5 month trip around Asia. Can not recommend this hostel enough, its close to everything you'll need and staying here will make your trip to Khao Sok National Park 100% worth it!

Even tho I didn’t stay at the Chillax Hostel the Lady helped me to organise my transfer to Ranong. She was super sweet and helpful and spoke English very well. Thank you so much!

Worst service ever
We booked a direct transer to Phuket through our hostel with departure from Khao Sok National Park at 12: 30.
Then when we are checking in for the bus, the lady told us the departure was 14: 00 even though our ticket says 12: 30. Then we called the hostel, because the lady from the hostel told to contact the hostel if anything would happen. Then when we called they made excuses and all stuff and lastly they laughed at us and hung up.
We Also found out the tickets we bought was very overpriced. We gave 650baht when you can buy them for 400baht at bus station. Horrible service considered they take cut of 250baht or ticket
