Cheeky Monkey's Samui Hotel

Loved the place. Rooms are small. But we spend most of the days exploring so didn't bother too much. Decent location especially if u rent a scooter. Easy parking. We didn't visit the pool but that's our biggest regret.
On the last day we went up and had a look and it would have been amazing to sit in and chill on the hot afternoons. The water would have been so cooling.
Overall a decent stay especially foe the price.

Felt welcoming on arrival. Really close to the Chaweng Beach. A Lot of shops are just walking distance.

Nice clean rooms with a balcony, perfect for short stays, maybe not longer as there's no room to unpack etc.the pool is amazing on the roof just a shame the bar, music, party atmosphere seems to have died. Still love the place.

Pretty small space (literally stepping on each other) but we made it work. I will say it was clean and had a decent location.
A couple things that knocked down the review:
When we arrived (only 30mins before check in time) even after being told we could check in early… the woman at the front was very rude and hostile with us. She yelled at us saying it’s always 2 for every hotel.very bad attitudes and service the rest of the time too.
Next was that you can hear EVERYTHING
we had some pretty noisy neighbors who kept us up til 2am three nights in a row even with ear plugs

Tiny room with bed, sink and fridge crammed together and no room to put bags. Mouldy bathroom, ants everywhere. You can hear every noise in the hostel, even from the reception. Dark room with no ventilation or daylight. The area the hostel is in felt unsafe too, and we’ve travelled much of Thailand and felt safe. We were booked to stay 3 nights but left after 1 night (we only stayed because we’d travelled 10 hours and were exhausted). Just overall very dirty and crammed. On the plus side, we were refunded for the 2 nights we didn’t stay and the lady was reasonable enough.

We booked the hostel from Agoda. The reality was different from the pictures. When we arrived at the hostel, we had to pay in cash, because otherwise the hostel would have charged an extra 3% fee for using the card.

When we got our room, it was moldy. There was mold on the walls and pillows. My spouse has asthma so we couldn't stay in the room.

The hostel was full and therefore could not offer us another room. So we had to check out. The hostel did not refund all the nights for us, even though the room was unusable.

We were told that Agoda would refund this. We contacted Agoda but they couldn't do anything about it.

Do not book a room here unless you want to sleep on the street!

Good price but we dont like this hostel.

Best budget hotel I stayed at in Koh Samui with excellent service. Nice view from hotel room too. Few bugs in the room but nothing you wouldn't expect on a tropical island.

Room#405

The good:
Ac blows cool air, decent size tv (if you care)
Has small size balcony, bed is not horrible,
Has a small fridge and a table.

The bad:
Sheets wasn’t so clean had lipstick (?) marks on them, can get noisy during the night,
Small rooms, does not have a closet.

Who I would recommend to:
A single person or a young couple that wants to save, overall - not horrible but definitely not the place to stay in and get comfy.
If you stay here you better be out most of the day and comeback at night to shower and sleep.

Great hotel! Cheap price for great value of room! 100% recommended! Location is 10-15 minutes walk from the center. There is a rooftop pool. The rooms are small but clean, comfortable beds, have tv, good wi fi and hot water.

Great hostel. Iv stayed here twice and both times have been good experiences. Located next to everything shops/bars/restaurants. The staff are very nice and the bonus is the rooftop pool with lovely views of the mountains.

Stayed 2 days in Cheeky Monkeys hostel. Rooms are clean and neat. Staff is friendly, rooftop bar and restaurant with beautiful view of mountain. Chaweng beach is 4 min Walk form hostel. Lots of Indian as well as thai restaurant nearby.

I love this place cause it's has a nice room and located nearby a way to the public beach at chaweng.

Room 105 has BED BUGS!
I put up a mosquito net on arrival, first night we got bitten and we thought a few mosquitoes had slipped the net.so the following morning I stripped the bedding, asked for new linen and sprayed everything with repellent set the net and left for the day.
I set some citronella once back to draw out any mosquitoes (there were 2) then went to bed. We got bitten all over our legs and back woke a few times in the night practically delirious thinking we were being attacked by mosquitoes. In the morning we assessed our bites, they were smaller and more itchy than regular mosquito bites.
We did a quick search on bed bugs and first post was "Cheeky monkey bed bugs"
There has been a string of posts dating back to 2016 but the management at cheeky monkey have done nothing to solve the issue.
They offered to move us to a smaller room but by then the trust was gone. I asked for a refund of my last 2 nights and we went to a different hotel. I'm planning more trips to the area as I love the location. But I will not stay here again.

It was a worstest experience with them. Rooms are very small not comfortable even we cant put our suitcases and then open it too.everything is placed very unethically. Washrooms are small too. Sink is in the room. Can't prefer any one to visit this place. ️Not satisfied!

Excelent place. Small rooms but confortable, nice rooftop bar and great location. Staff is helpful but don't speak much english.

Clean. Free water everyday. Free buffet is not really free, you have to buy a drink (at least 120 baht). No hand soap or hand towel.

Gutes, Sauberes und günstiges Hotel. Etwas abseits von der Party, die aber trotzdem noch fußläufig erreichbar ist. Pool ist deutlich weniger schön als auf den Bildern.

Good reception fast service and pool bar and restaurant staff are fantastic. Highly recommended
