Chalok baan kao bay

It is a beach with practically no waves!
Little sand and yellow in color. It has no moored boats, and has several hotels and restaurants on the beach.

It is not a beach to spend a whole day on, little sand and few places to eat, at least in November.

You need to be aware of tides. Sadly, when we went, it was high tide, so we couldn't enjoy the beach as the water completely reached the buildings line.
Also, there are a lot of buildings just in the coast line, so you feel that you are crossing private property.

It's very good! You have to walk until you reach an area where the beach is wider, with trees that provide shade. Rich for bathing and there are few people. We loved it!

The pictures don't do this place justice. One of the best beaches I'm Thailand! Not somewhere we planned to go but stopped along our way to another beach. Incredible.

Very large beach with nice bars and swings where you can rock yourself while looking at the sea. When we went there were few people and we enjoyed the whole bay. The water has beautiful colors, but it is very shallow so you can neither swim nor snorkel.

Nice beach, quite narrow in places. Its advantage is certainly the lack of crowds. There is a free entry in multiple points. There are many bars and restaurants around.

BEWARE OF THE SHELLS IN WATER!
The beach is very beautiful, but please be careful when you walk in the water. I stepped on a sand covered shell and it split my heel open. Had to get stitches.

Best bay in Koh Tao regarding accessibly/price/commodity. It is free but inside the resorts or bars along the coast although you can just enter and enjoy it.

Usually is calm even the wind is hard in the rest of the island and good place for snorkel and swim in shallow water.

Totally recommended to chill, more if you stay on the accomodations on its shore.

Amazing! I stayed with New Heaven diving school, doing both my advanced and open water diving course, then subsequently going on to do conservation for a week!
The area is lovely, however I would say it is out of the main stretch called Sairee and taxis are quite expensive, so unless you have a scooter I would recommend staying elsewhere on the island and visiting for the day!

Nice corals toward the left end but the area near the shore seems polluted and very damaged by the boat taxis. Some bars and hotels seem to be still closed maybe due to the Covid downturn in tourism over the 2020-2021 period.

Beautiful and small beach located south of Koh Tao, very quiet with some restaurants.the water is not clear like the main beach but its tranquility is worth it.

Chilled-out lazy vibes are found at this soft sand beach spotted with restaurants and bars. You can find Thai food, wood fired pizza, and a variety of other dishes. The scenery here is outstanding, but the water can be murky. Not the best place to see a sunset, but the bars make up for it with attractive happy hour deals. Worth a visit.
