After spending a week diving with everyone at big blue, I will confidently say this is a great dive school. From the get go our dive trips have been very organized and thoroughly thought out with safety at the forefront.
We dove many sites with BB, from Sail rock to Chumpon or Laem Thian and Tanote Bay; our Dive masters Mauro and Sara were both extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, making sure to either point out anything of interest or take us through intricate swimthroughs; I highly recommend them both.

Today I have finished my beginner open water divers course and it was a really cool experience. The instructor we had was Martin and he was a really good and experienced instructor. He really got a good feeling on how the dynamics of our friend group was and he adjusted to it very well. While teaching us he had a lot of patience (which was needed hahah) but also was a bit more strict when needed which I found to be a perfect combination.

If you plan to go on diving at big blue I highly recommend you to get Martin as a instructor!

If you’re looking for a diving school on the beautiful Koh Tao island you really can’t go past Big Blue. Our instructor Dan was awesome teaching us everything we need to know and having plenty of fun along the way. Play your cards right and he might even shout ya a cold bevvy at his craft beer bar round the corner!

Amazing diving school: warm staff, good equipment and great instructors who really are looking after you. Having prior (failed) experience at an attempt to diving, I was a bit nervous to start with. But with Angie (@instructorssi on Instagram) as instructor I felt I was confident enough to give it another go. She was super-focused in equipping us with the right skills (no messing around!) to feel confident under water. She was a great fun too, so was our group:) At the end I was proud to complete my Open Water. 12 years later!

Amazing place for beginner divers to get open water certified. Instructor Angie was amazing. Her perfectionist approach ensured all six of us beginner divers were performing the skills above and beyond the SSI standards. Even though she was a stickler for the standards, she still made the lessons fun and engaging. She was also great to have a beer with afterwards! I was a little nervous before I began, but now I feel very confident underwater. I’m glad I chose this dive school for my first time diving and would recommend it to anyone looking to dive in Thailand.

I did my Open Water Diver and also my Advanced Adventurer certification with Angie at Big Blue. I can go on and on about all the positives that Angie brings to the table— most importantly, she is incredibly knowledgeable and makes sure to impart that knowledge to you. You can tell she loves diving and teaching, and she’s amazing at both! She made me feel safe and prepared throughout my two certifications, and her instruction has built a confidence in my diving that I did not have before. Angie rocks!

My partner and I did our open water and two fun dives with Big Blue. The staff were professional, friendly, and approachable.

We had Angie for our Advanced course. Her knowledge and skill as an instructor were exceptional.

Gabi took us out for our fun dives. His down to earth nature and ongoing support underwater meant we were able to further our skills whilst enjoying all that the Koh Tao dive sites have to offer.

I had the best experience doing my SSI Open Water and Advanced Adventurer course with Big Blue. Big credits go to my diving instructor Angi for being so patient, professional and cool! She made our 3 days under water and above unforgettable and played a huge role in making me fall in love with diving. When deciding I wanted to do the AA course a week later, it was clear that I would only do it with her! Thank you for everything Angi!

PSA: Choose Big Blue! The kindest, most accomodating and experienced team in town. An absolute bunch of legends to spend the day with, and you don’t have to deal with the overcrowded tourist chaos. We did our basic divers with instructor Alvaro who was super enthusiastic and cool, calm and collected dealing with a couple of amateurs like us. The team were friendly, competent and above all, made the day a breeze and so much fun! Can’t speak more highly of them and we will definitely return some day! Thanks Steven and the Big Blue team for treating a couple of Aussies like family.

We‘re here back in 2018 for our OWD and AOWD, couldn‘t imagine a better place. Everything was amazing. Now we are back and still love it. If you want to go/learn diving this is the best place!
