Amari Koh Samui

Great hotel
Good location and still quiet.great breakfast.
The hotel tried very hard but the beach was not always clean.
But we'd love to come back

Caution! All rooms (except the Seaview) are on the land side, separated from the main house by a busy main road. Unfortunately, this fact is not made clear in the description of the hotel.
There are garden and pool view rooms. There are around 20 loungers at the pool and there is also a kids club here.
Breakfast buffet is great.

The hotel is stunning in its beauty, the adjacent beach is perfect, the rooms in the garden wing are beautiful, comfortable and luxurious.
The staff is very helpful. Quiet location and a short walking distance to the entertainment center

A pampering hotel, service at a very high level, the rooms were really nice and a comfortable bed.

Nice hotel, clean rooms. Right next to the center. Massage on the beach. Pool water too hot! Lol

We had a delightful 4-day stay at this property. The rooms were comfortable, and a thoughtful addition was the clothes drying stand on the balcony, perfect for beach vacations. The hotel boasts two pools, one with a garden view and the other overlooking the sea. We stayed in the garden view building and found the pools to be well-maintained. For parents, the kids' room is a fantastic amenity, suitable for children aged 4 and above.

The breakfast buffet offers a variety of options, with a special counter catering to Indian tastes. This counter consistently featured parathas, half-cooked aloo sabji, heated samosas, and, albeit not our favorite, poha. However, the continental breakfast had excellent vegetarian choices. The spread for sauces, jams, juices, and yogurt was extensive, ensuring that everyone, from infants to those with specific dietary restrictions like Jain cuisine, could find something to enjoy.

The hotel itself is nice but it is aimed more at families with small children.
Our room was clean but a bit musty because there was no window to the outside in the bathroom.
The sea water wasn't as we had imagined it was very shallow we had to walk 100 m in order to dive in.

The location is good but only suites are on the beach side, all rooms are across the road and you have to crossover to get to the beach.
The staff were polite. To set the context here, I stayed from 3-Sep to 7-Sep in Amari Phuket, Patagong and had complained about the service w.r. T dosa counter, luggage pickup and the treatment of Indian guests by staff (Indian). You can read more details in my Amari Phuket review. However, the owners responded to my review within a couple of hours apologizing for the inconvenience and ensuring that they will look into the matter. I appreciate them getting back.

When we arrived in Amari Koh Samui for our stay from 7-Sep to 9-Sep, the hotel staff here were already aware of the challenges we faced in Amari Phuket and wanted to keep us happy here. They upgraded our room from superior to deluxe. To note that the rooms of the same caliber are much smaller than the Amari Phuket, however they seem more new and modern styled.

All the staff were quite polite, well behaved around all guests and provided excellent service here. For comparison there were no Indian staff here, at least none that I met. Also, there was no live dosa counter at all here for me to compare again, but there were some Indian breakfast options.

However, I have rated the service only 3 stars due to the following issues I faced here:

1. Wi-fi in my room had a problem and in spite of repeatedly complaining about it, it took a day for them to have it fixed. I had meeting which I took over limited 4 G bandwidth on the night we arrived. I complained multiple times to reception and showed them that it was not working on multiple (5) devices. It was working in reception area and not in our room. It was fixed next day evening.

2. When we gave to laundry, they lost one of my dhoti (night dress). They did compensate me with a 50% discount on the laundry bill which amounted to about 400 bhats, but I had packed just two dhoti for the entire trip and I cannot buy a dhoti here. The discount was assured to me on 8-Sep night by the receptionist around 9 pm when I tried to settle my bill and book the luggage pickup. After waiting for 15 mins, He told me that he will have the discount applied and invoice ready for next day early morning for me to checkout. However, the receptionist and her manager on the morning of my checkout were not at all aware of the issue and took 20+ mins to apply the discount during which I had to explain the whole situation from scratch.

A disappointing experience. No real beach. Rooms are below standard. No power or USB points close to the bed. Food menu was OK.

In my experience the hotel is not pleasant at all.
A busy road crosses the hotel. The family rooms are not practical, the children sleep in the attic with sliding stairs. The room is small with no storage spaces, the suitcases are on the floor and there is no room to move.
The smell of sewage in the room and in the hotel (as in the entire Cheong area).
A busy dining room, a central buffet inside a small room.
There is no atmosphere of peace in the hotel. Busy and noisy.
Pools are very small and uninviting. The beach is dirty and without access to bathing. We ran away after two wasted days.

Fairly average rooms, but clean and organised resort. Would recommend if you are staying in Chaweng.

Loved the extra clean rooms, spacious enough welcoming staff and loved the surrounding areas right by the beach also. I would highly recommend it.

Even though the hotel has been opened after the renovation just only two years, it's still look old. I stayed in the garden wing and turned out that the water in the bath tub was yellow and the plug in the room near TV cannot be used for electronic charging. Anyway, the staffs were very nice and very helpful for all our conditions and concerns. The breakfast was very variety and incredibly delicious.

Amari is well positioned for a quiet time in Samui but also close enough to walk to find some nightlife. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
Lost one star because although the lobby and main area is newly renovated, the garden rooms are older and need to be updated.

Great place, I had so much fun in there, there is a two pools and a view to the blue beach, the rooms are great and the beds are comfortable, the breakfast was good and tasty with many choices of food, highly recommend.

Nice hotel. Good food, nice size rooms. Everything well maintained. Staff really friendly. Highly recommend this hotel, Amari.

This is just a perfect hotell. I can't find anything negative to say. It has got 2 big pools, it's located on the beach and it's just close enough to the city that you can walk but still quiet.

The breakfast was the best hotell breakfast I have eaten in Thailand.

I Wil be going back her again.

A Wonderful Beach Side resort & Spa.
This 5 star, newly renovated Resort has it all! It is located on a secluded part of the 7 KM long "Chewang Beach". And also has 2 swimming pools. The professionalism of the Resort is indicative of the Management's commitment to serving their clients at the highest level! The nearby town also has lots of action which is appreciated by many travellers- what with great restaurants, "funky bars" and a variety of services such as massages, water sports, touts etc. The (free) breakfast is a wonderful way to start one's day.and the beach is wonderful for both walking and swimming. The Resort was also awarded TripAdvisor's "Certificate of Excellence". Its a fine place to experience Koh Samui's many delights!
