Bamboo Bungalows - Koh Phayam

Unfortunately, this formerly very quiet and relaxed place is deteriorating into a children's club. Relaxed lying in the hammock is only possible to a limited extent, as many times children and baby cries strongly influence the rest. It is a shame because we have been guests here for many years.

Its a bungalow. Yes a fresh air experience but we had a mosquito net. And running cool water for shower and toilet. The gardening and grounds were the best we saw by far. The food was fair price and tasty. The location perfect. Center of long beach. Best of All was the very nice owner and staff. Everyone felt a part of this lovely place. Thanks Coco, Charlie, and Art for our special service.

A peaceful setting in just about the middle of Ao Yai so primed for warm winter sunset (around 28 degrees C). The food (mostly Thai with some western options and really good fish and meat barbeque) is lovely here but there are plenty of alternative dining opportunities inland or down the beach. A bit noisy when Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties erupt but serene otherwise. There is WiFi at the restaurant but don’t expect any in the huts themselves. Do expect to be gratefully chilled by the al fresco shower in your bungalow’s wet room.

Best place to stay on Koh Phayam, really! Staff is very attentive and friendly. Bar and restaurant are competent and provide delicious meals & drinks. Especially, the almost daily seafood BBQ is excellent, Nicky knows, how many different ways your choice can be prepared and gives advise.
Modern furniture, no protruding nails that hurt your clothes and skin.
The bungalows fit into the jungle-like environment, its awesome, to come back from a walk or a scooter tour around the island, and walk straight into a gorgeous sunset - every day (South Beach Ao Yai is well known for that!). Flat sandy beach, no rocks, safe for children as well.
Rooms have an built-in outdoor bath room, with beautiful shell covered walls.
During our 3 week stay, we've seen lots of other resorts, no one like Bamboo Bungalows, really. Maybe once an Indian dinner at Blue Owl, or a Pizza at Paolo's (both walking distance), but at Bamboo, you can indulge yourself with a different menu every day, including delicious Thai Hot Pot.

Great place for an extended stay, with accommodation options to suite everyone.friendly and helpful staff and the best breakfast in town served up on the beachfront. Thanks we will come again.

It is far away the best place to be at this Island, Bungalows are clean and close to the Beach Restaurant is really really good. We 2 adults + 2 Kids enjoyed so much here.

Sehr schöne Bungalows mit einem längeren Garten und schöner Standlage. Man kann schön in das kleine Dorf spazieren wo wir öfter gefrühstückt haben. Thai iced coffee sehr zu empfehlen.

Absolutely amazing. The bungalows are great. Atmosphere totally relaxed, And the staff are sooooo friendly. And the food is amazing. 10 out of 10 every time️
