The Houben Hotel, Adults Only

Highlights:

* Fantastic sunset you can enjoy from the pool area laying on your sunbed

This hotel is great, the owner is very friendly, always greeting guests and making sure you get everything you need.
Spacious rooms, always clean, good AC, clean pool and beautiful views.
The location is perfect, just 300m away from the shops and the more crowded beach where you can spend the time, have a drink, enjoy a great massage with a sea view and breeze (BayView resort, close by).

Thrilled with choosing The Houben for our stay in Koh Lanta! It is peaceful and unique. You can see monkeys from your balcony! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of and comfortable! The views are incredible and you have a great spot to view the sunset! An extra perk is that it is adults only! We have met so many nice couples during our stay. The food at their restaurant is delicious and not too pricey!

On the expensive side but well worth it. It's adults only but not a frat house. Well kept, classy, and incredible rooms.

There are many things that I liked about this place. The view was georgous! And they used good bedding sheets. I really liked the breakfast but the service could be quite slow. We spent a lot of time lounging around the pool.

I didn't give 5 stars for the following reasons:
- the pool needed some cleaning. The water wasn't clear.
- the hot water wasn't hot enough for taking a bath. It was fine to take a shower thou. We had to boil some water to make the bath hot.
- one of the nights I had 50+ bites on my body. Likely from a flee. After they changed the sheets it was fine but I definitely suffered from the bites for several days afterwards.

Great hotel and staff, the room was lovely with a great view and a short walk down to the bay. A good number of restaurants nearby but not too many bars, which is nice. Enough for fun but not too much to spoil the fact Lanta is a paradise!

Looks good until you look closer, AC did not cool room, (changed room yet still bad AC, tech came twice "to fix" yet still no cold air) rude staff, cracks on ever item in room from bed to doors, stains on everything in room, dirt on floor, checked out 2 hours after checking, would never stay here again, if you ever been to a 4 starr hotel, you will be very disappointed here.

An absolutely amazing hotel. The friendly helpful staff, the beautifully appointed rooms, great food and the list goes on, everything about The Houben surpasses excellence. My wife and I stayed 4 nights and will most definitely return to this amazing hotel in this amazing location on my next break from work. Loved it. Thank you so much to the staff for a wonderful holiday. Highly recommended.

The Houben is a very good place to relax and enjoy life. The pool is big enough to swim a little, the place is clean and has a good restaurant. If you're sensitive to noise, I would suggest a room on the third floor - we stayed there and it was very quiet (if you don't need AC for the night). Also the view is absolutely stunning! The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can rent scooters in a very good condition via the Houben. The hotel is situated in a more remote and calm area of the island, however, you can buy everything you need in the stores down the street (walking distance). A nice beach is also very close.
