Thanya Resort

It's nice enough but they over sold the room we booked and then told me it was my/booking.coms fault, poor breakfast

Lovley place, positioned in Paradise. Everything you could need and want in the room. Prices weren't too expensive in the shop/restaurant in comparison to other other islands considering this one is more remote. I cannot comment on the quality of the food/drinks as I unfortunately got sick during my stay, though my husband enjoyed what he had. We would have liked to stay a little longer than we did!

Very nice place to hide away from crowd, urban areas and traffic.enjoy sound of life from forest and the Sea. The resort is right on th beach. The way to get here isn't the easiest but you won't regret to have done the trip.

Super schönes Resort auf einer schönen Insel. Personal war freundlich und stets hilfsbereit. Die lange Anfahrt mit dem Boot lohnt sich.

It was the best resort in Thailand that I've been. Delicious food for reasonable prices. Clean rooms, nice staff, beautiful surrounding. Perfect place to relax. No loud music, no parties in the night. Pure nature and joy. Definitelly reccommend:)

Ein komfortables Ressort auf einer Trauminsel. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist wundervoll. Das Hausriff ist für gute Schwimmer oder bei Ebbe einfach zu erreichen. Was man vorher bedenken sollte: Ko Hai ist wirklich eine einsame Insel. Keine Straßen, kein Lärm, keine Shops, keine ATM. Nur Ruhe und Natur und natürlich die Ressorts. Das Thanya ist hier eine gute Wahl und auch in der Low Season geöffnet.

Unfortunately, I have to give a 1 star review for the lack of hotel management during my stay there. It's a shame because the location is breathtaking, and the hotel is right in front of one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. On the first day we arrive, we immediately had to change rooms because the AC was not working. Second day, I was lying in bed because I was feeling unwell, and I had 3 people from house keeping look inside my room while I was lying down. Not only that, to my surprise they open the door and said they wanted to clean the room. I told them to come back in an hour, however, they kept insisting and made me wait outside of the room under the hot sun while they cleaned. I felt so disrespected! Third day, front desk told us we needed to move AGAIN to another room because they had other guests coming. We explained that we were not going to move again, it was not our fault the AC in the first room was not working. Next day, The front desk came to us while we were enjoying the beach and said we needed to leave the room immediately. The kid from front desk started yelling at my husband in front of all the other guest/kids that he needed to leave. He made my husband leave the beach to talk to his manager on the phone. IT WAS RIDICULOUS THE WAY HE TREATED US! I HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMETHING LIKE THAT! SO MUCH DISRESPECT/HARRASSMENT. After all, we didnt have to leave our room, we could have done without all the arguing back and forth. The last day, during check out, they made us pay an extra 1000 BAHT for losing the room key. They framed us so we would have to pay extra. Front desk people are rude and greet you without a smile. I am making these comments to help the hotel owner make the right management changes. Its a shame because its such a beautiful place.

We have been coming back to the Thanya Resort for the second year. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of this small island. But this year the welcome at the reception upon our arrival was quite disappointing and not very friendly. The two young guys on duty did not seem very interested in the guests. I had the same feeling whenever I returned to the reception to ask about transfers or an extra light for the room. Email contact with the resort had been very unreliable as well. I only received an answer after I had called them from abroad to confirm our booking.
Fortunately the rest of the resort team made up for it with friendliness and good spirits.
The prices at the resort are quite high compared to the standard it offers. Some parts are not very well looked after and are a bit run down already. This time we stayed at the Thanya Resort the pool water was not very nice. It felt kind of green and milky. Another negative was the trash management around the pool. In the mornings the trash bins were still full with trash from the day before and beer bottles were laying around which also shows an attitude problem of some of the resort guests, I guess.
The restaurant food is very good and in my opinion the best on the island. The sea breeze bar has been taken over by some cool guys. Now the drinks are great and they also have live music at night.
I would still recommend staying at this resort and hope that the management will take the chance to do some investments to keep up the standard.
