Railay Family Restaurant

After almost 3 weeks in Thailand, Pad Thai was not only the weakest I ate, but it was also harmful to me. I do not recommend!

We had a delicious meal here! The watermelon shake (I always ask for less sugar) is delicious. Also very friendly and enthusiastically received by, I think, the owner of the restaurant. An older man. They have a very extensive menu, but I especially like the Phad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice (I like the latter more for lunch than for dessert).
When we finished eating, "dad" (the owner?) arrived with two refreshing wipes. From the freezer. Wonderful to put on your neck, he said, and yes, that is true. But also to clean your hands. When we left, after the usual "khap koen ka", we also received a heartfelt hug. "Dad" you get a big 10 from us! You will definitely see us again.

Today we ate at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very authentic, all made of wood in the middle of the island, and decorated with shells. Very friendly waiters. I found the menu very extensive and had all kinds of traditional Thai dishes. We have chosen the chicken satay (chicken skewers with a very rich peanut sauce) and then the pad thai but the one that comes wrapped in a tortilla. Everything was very delicious and the price in line with what we are finding, very affordable. A recommended option in Railay!

Came here after watching the place from across the road and it seeming good. It was okay. Food was okay, nothing special, portions were small.
Coconut smoothie was incredible though.
Better price-quality ratio in other places on the island.

The food is quite tasty, but the staff sometimes forgets about the order, so you have to remind them. A plus is the free salad bar.

I had panang curry and fried rice. I think the panang was great but the fried rice was the worst I had on Thailand. Ask for spicy if you want spicy! Most places in railay will make your food without spice and it's sorta disappointing if you expect spicy Thai food ️ good place though and would go back!

The best restaurant in Railay!
As soon as we found this little gem, we ate and drank here every day for lunch, dinner, drinks and the occasional snack. The quality is excellent and the food tastes like it’s made with love. Each and every staff member is warm, friendly and makes the effort to converse. The red/green curries, Tom yum soup and mango sticky rice are something to write home about… absolutely delicious! Oh and they serve genuine MALIBU (not the overly sweet coco rum that the other bars have) Great quality and great value for money. 10/10!

Nice and friendly staff. Food is okay but if you like spicy you have to ask them as all food comes without chillies.

I think this restaurant is the best value for money restaurant in Railay. I’ve visited here 3 times.

Fantastic little family restaurant. Food is authentic and full of flavour. You will not find a better place in railay. First time I was here it was in 2015 and one of the reasons I came back to Railay beach, was this restaurant. Seriously, flavour-wise one of the best places in Thailand, and I tried quite a few. Menu is quite big and plenty to dishes to choose from. Plenty of vegetarian options as well! One thing you have to try is Banana in coconut milk for the dessert, absolutely fantastic! You gotta try it! Prices are very reasonable, staff very nice.

I have been 3 times here at Railay Beach (8 years ago, 6 years ago and now 2022) and this restaurant is just the best! Great food and value for money. I really love the banana coconut dessert - have seen it nowhere else in Thailand.

We ordered simple Pad thai and pad se eww.waited 20 minutes, couple who came after us was served before their starter and main before us. When I asked the gentlemen. He said it's a another 50 minute wait.

Only come here if you are willing to wait a very long time. Alot of unhappy bored and hungry faces.

Guy did not care when we cancelled and left.

Food is ok but each dish takes forever to come out and comes out one at a time. Impossible to eat a meal with a group.

Waited nearly 2 hours for main dishes and they still hadn’t arrived. So we left. Managed to get our starter an hour after arriving, average. Lots of staff, but clearly can’t run a restaurant.

For just 500 baht, we had:
Tempura fried chicken - juicy and crispy
Broccoli in oyster - delicious
Massaman chicken curry - spicy and perfect
Chicken fried rice - best rice we’ve had in the islands
Fried tofu - Perfection, served with a tangy chilli sauce
