El Greco - Greek Taverna

Decent food and kind and helpful staff. The food was way to salty in my opinion but still edible. Not very cosy and not very much food making it kinda expensive for Thailand standard. Would not go back.

It doesn't matter if you're tired of Thai food, you will need to visit this place at least once while you're here. Big sized portions and took me back to Greece!

Food is good and the service is OK. The prices are fairly high for Thailand. The owner is friendly and seems to check in on people.

We were looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews.

Sadly, the food was average at best. We ordered the meat platter and The meat was far too salty. We had to order an additional order of pita to balance out the saltiness in almost all the meats in the platter. Serving was big and enough for 2, but overall, pretty much one of our most disappointing meals here in Koh Lanta.

Food was good, but everytime we have been they don't have seafood. Seems strange being on a island surrounded by the ocean and fresh seafood is an option at many places here. Idk, smells of conspiracy. Lamb Gyros was excellent however. And the eggplant balls. Cheers.

My wife & I went for a late lunch thinking we'd get something light & have a big dinner back at the hotel. She ordered a moussaka & I ordered a gyros. Both portions were huge, so big in fact that 4-5 hours later we only had a few spring rolls for dinner we were still full! The food tasted really authentic probably because it is run by greek expats! The owners were nice enough to come over & have a conversation with us as well.

Es war do gut wieder mal die nachbarschaftliche Küche zu essen. Nach zwei Wochen Thai-Küche war das soooooooooo gut. Griechisch auf Lanta hätte ich nie gedacht. Gut gemacht, Spiro).

Great host with excellent and friendly staff. The best coffee on Koh Lanta. Food of a high quality and very tasty. Comfortable and spacious accommodation close to the beach. You won't regret going there!

Tolles Restaurant, falls man mal eine Abwechslung zum Thaifood benötigt. Das griechische Essen hat einen thailändischen Beigeschmack und ist sehr lecker. Spiro, der Besitzer der Taverne, ist ein toller Gastgeber und rundet den Besuch ab.:)

This place is always great! I was here 3 years ago and ate here about 4 times.came back this year and the food is just as good as it was back then.i prefer the beach front setting in khlong kong beach but still such a great little place.try the eggplant balls.theyre so good! Really reasonable pricing!

Amazing service and some of the best Greek food we have ever eaten. Great portion sizes and very fair pricing. I would consider this a must stop restaurant!

นอกจากอาหารกรีกเป็นจาน ที่นี่ยังมีอาหารชุดสำหรับ 2 คน เช่น พวกเนื้อสัตว์ย่าง (bbq) ซีฟู้ด หรือผัก เลยลองสั่งชุดเนื้อสัตว์มา ราคา 420 บาท (สำหรับ 2 คน) อาหารจานนี้ไม่กรีกแท้ 100% เพราะมีแฮม (แบบที่กินในโรงแรมตอนมื้อเช้า) และไส้กรอกอีสาน 1 ไม้ ส่วนที่รู้สึกว่าเหมือนกรีก คือ สลัด มีทบอล และ น้ำจิ้มที่เป็นโยเกิร์ตผสมกระเทียมและแตงกวา (กินน้ำจิ้มนี่เกลี้ยงเลย) ชุดนี้ตอนแรกนึกว่ากินแล้วไม่อิ่ม แต่พอกินหมดแล้วอิ่มนะ เพราะมีสลัด มันฝรั่ง และแผ่นแป้งเป็นเครื่องเคียง

Pita war OK, mal was anderes. Sehr freundlicher Service. Location direkt an der hauptstrasse ist nicht so gemütlich

The meat was ok, the fries was not properly cooked so we skipped to eat them. The owner seemed quite uninterested about providing any service and just stood and complained loudly about something to a visitor.

ผมปลื้มร้านนี้จนไม่รู้จะเริ่มต้นเรียบเรียงยังไงดี เอางี้ละกัน

หากคุณมาเที่ยวเกาะลันตา จะเห็นว่า ที่นี่คือสวรรค์ของคนที่ชื่นชอบอาหารฝรั่งเลยแหละ เพราะมีร้านอาหารฝรั่งที่อร่อยๆได้คะแนนสูงๆหลายร้าน และผมจะบอกว่า ร้าน El Greco นี่ก็ห้ามพลาดเลยครับ
อาหารกรีก คนไทยส่วนใหญ่อาจจะไม่คุ้น แต่ถ้าคุณทานอาหารอิตาเลี่ยนได้ ผมว่าก็น่าจะทานอาหารกรีกได้ เพราะมันก็มีบางส่วนที่คล้ายกัน และผมว่าอาหารกรีกน่าจะถูกปากคนไทยมากกว่าด้วยซ้ำเพราะมันเลี่ยนน้อยกว่าและมักจะมีเครื่องเทศเยอะกว่า
ผมไปถึงก็สั่ง Souvlaki และ Greek Salad มาก่อน
แต่ละจานก็ใหญ่มาก Souvlaki จะมีแป้งห่อเนื้อสัตว์ย่างมา น่าจะเป็นไก่นะจำไม่ได้แล้ว 555 ใส่เครื่องเทศมาพอประมาณ อร่อยดีครับ ส่วน Greek Salad นี่ของที่นี่ผมให้ห้าดาวเลย มันเป็นอาหารที่ดูแล้วเรียบง่ายมาก แต่ความสดของผักและมะเขือเทศ คุณภาพของน้ำมันมะกอกและ feta cheese ที่นำเข้าจากกรีก โอยย สุดยอด ผักที่สดกรอบหวานมากที่สุด รสชาติเค็มๆของมะกอก ความมันๆนัวๆของ feta cheese และน้ำมันมะกอกอย่างดี พอกินด้วยกันแล้วมันเข้ากันอย่างน่าอัศจรรย์ มันลงตัว มันอร่อย นี่คือ Greek Salad ที่อร่อยที่สุดเท่าที่เคยกินมา
จบสองจานน้ีผมก็เริ่มอิ่มแล้วหละ แต่ผมมองในเมนูแล้วไม่รู้อะไรดลใจให้ผมถามน้องบริกรว่า สปกเกตตี้คาโบนาร่า จานใหญ่ไม้? น้องตอบอย่างมั่นใจว่า จานใหญ่ค่ะ ผมนั่งคิดอยู่นานเพราะกลัวว่า คาโบนาร่ามันจะเลี่ยนไม้ แถมเยอะอีก แล้วมาสั่งอาหารอิตาเลี่ยนในร้านกรีก จะดีเหรอ? แต่ผมก็ตัดสินใจสั่งไป แล้วมันก็เป้็นการตัดสินใจที่ทำให้ผมลืมไม่ลงจนถึงวันนี้เลย
คาโบนาร่าจานใหญ่มาวางตรงหน้าผม มันใหญ่จริงๆครับ ปริมาณมันมากกว่าของร้านอื่นๆที่เคยกินมาสองเท่า ต่อไป มันร้อนมาก 5555 ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องที่ดี ซอสคาโบนาร่ามันเข้มข้นมากจนมันไม่เป็นน้ำลงไปกองบนจานเหมือนที่อื่น แต่มันเหนียวหนับจนเคลือบติดไปกับเส้น รสชาติจึงติดอยู่กับเส้นทั้งหมด ผมม้วนสปาเกตตี้ใส่ปาก อืมมมม เฮ้ย มันอร่อย มันลงตัว มันไม่จืด รสชาติมันเข้มข้น แต่มันไม่มีอะไรที่เกินไปเลย ไม่เค็มเกิน ไม่มันเกิน ทุกๆคำที่ตักเข้าปาก มันคือสวรรค์ในปากที่ผมไม่อยากให้มันสิ้นสุดลงเลย ผมถามตัวเองทุกคำว่า อิ่มไม้? เลี่ยนไม้ ลิ้นของผมรายงานกลับมาว่า ไม่เลี่ยนเลย เอาอีก นี่คือสิ่งที่ผมแปลกใจมาก คำแล้วคำเล่า มันไม่เลี่ยนเลย มีแต่ความอร่อยทุกคำ เพียงไม่นาน สปาเกตตี้คาโบนาร่าจานใหญ่ก็หมดลงโดยผมแทบจะเลียจาน ผมงี้แทบจะขอเข้าไปกราบแม่ครัวที่ทำอาหารได้เทพเหลือเกิน
สิ่งที่น่าตกใจของร้านนี้อีกอย่างคือราคาครับ ไม่ใช่แพงนะ คือมันถูกมาก คาโบนาร่าจานใหญ่นี้ 150 หรือ 155 บาทเท่านั้น ผมเคยทานมาหลายร้าน หลายๆที่ราคาเกือบสามร้อย มีปริมาณครึ่งนึงของที่นี่และ ไม่ได้อร่อยขนาดนี้
ผมได้คุยกับมิสเตอร์สไปรอสเจ้าของร้านนิดหน่อย จับมือขอบคุณเขาที่ทำให้มื้อนี้น่าประทับใจอย่างที่สุด ผมกลับมากรุงเทพได้สองเดือนแล้ว ผมพยายามตามหาร้านในกรุงเทพหลายๆแห่งที่ว่าทำสปาเกตตี้ได้เทพๆ แต่ก็ไม่มีของที่ไหนทำให้ผมหายคิดถึงคาโบนาร่าของร้านนี้ที่เกาะลันตาได้เลย ผมเริ่มวางแผนแล้วว่าผมจะไปเกาะลันตาอีกครั้งเมื่อไหร่ และคุณคงเดาออกใช่ไหม ว่าร้านอาหารที่อยู่บนสุดของรายชื่อที่ผมต้องไปกินให้ได้ คือร้านอะไร

We were in Greece last year and the food here was as good as anything we had in the 3 weeks in Greece. The Greek salad was to die for and the pita and tatziki too. (Garlicky)
Can't go wrong and a nice change from Curry.
